God this smells amazing. Very green, hay and sage notes, very bitter. No cannabis at all for me which sucks because thats why I bought it. Shouldnt be named "Chronic". Awful embarassing name in my opinion. I want to put this on after cleaning the entire appartment burning some incense and then lounging on a leather couch hanging out with friends. love this, not gonna buy a bottle though. doesnt perfom that well sadly.

This is a cool perfume! There's definitely a skunkiness to this one, like moss/ferns on a damp marsh floor...slight cannabis tones that dissipate...pettigrain and very slight fruit tones ground this...I am so in love with line...great springtime perfume...

I love this because of the inclusion of petitgrain and sage, two of my favorite green notes. This smells nothing like its namesake, which is a huge relief. This is a wonderful spring/summer scent — perfect to tuck into your suitcase for a road-trip.

One of my absolute favorite fragrances and for sure the best natural smelling aromatic green I've found. It's a total shame it barely lasts or projects. If they could fix it and put out a revamped formula I'd be buying bottles on bottles.

Honestly smells very similar to their ‘Higher Peace’ with the earthy hay smell that I love. This one smells a little more earthy and damp and the sage comes through beautifully. Such a big fan of both, definitely love smelling earthy

@carlosrafael: Firstly, you state that you have never smelled mj, then a few sentences later you state: " . . . I don’t know what chronic really smells as I’ve never smelled it before. . . .". Ok, so how are you making a comparison to mj or chronic, if you have never experienced it before? ? ? ? (crickets chirping in the background ). Am I the only one slightly confused here? This perfume smells like the unburnt mj (cannibas), not the smoked, burnt version. If you have never smelled weed before it has been burned, I guess you could make the statement that it smells "...like any other green plant you smell in the grasslands, perhaps with pungent mossy facets, . . ", but you would still be way off, as there are so many plants that are anything but, and have their very own distinctive aromas, even with "pungent mossy facets", that would NOT make them smell anywhere close to actual cannibas. Having actually smelled the plant pre-smoked phase both in the USA and abroad, I can definitely say that it does smell like I remember from the late 70s - early '80's. This. Is. As. Close. As. It. Gets. Period.

Very curious about this one. Aaaannnnddd . . . initial application smells just like weed/mary jane/Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg's signature scent (LoL!). Very strong petitgrain, bitter orange and cannabis in opening. I would not like to have a bottle of this spill in my car and have to go thru a traffic stop! My daughter (who bought me the entire 19.69 line without knowing what 'Chronic" was), after I explained it to her she says, "Sorry you smell like weed, Momma. Wear only at home." After a few minutes it begins to smell like something I am not afraid to wear outside the home or around law enforcement. Patchouli, vetiver, woods and cedar hold hands and go round and round together until they are dizzy and well blended. Soft amber and musk trail along behind just enough to not be left out. Becomes a skin scent after about 30 minutes or so; does not project very far. After about an hour the scent has gone "Up in Smoke".

Got a sample from lucky scent as I'm looking for a great spring/summer green scent. This doesn't smell at all like cannabis on me, luckily, since I'm wearing it at work right now (the sample tube didn't give me strong cannabis vibes either which is fine... great marketing title I figure... I don't need to smell like weed!). I'm finding this first wear to be super interesting. Real lush on first application. On dry down I'm getting a slightly higher patchouli scent but not in a deep hippy way. Kind of reminds me of a lighter "cooler" (spring/summer) version of Le Labo's Baie 19 (which was my go-to last summer/fall). It feels like it's hanging on me a bit more than others who have reviewed. This is definitely green, but not quite the sharper green I'm looking for. Would be great to have in my collection if $$$ were no object. Looking forward to trying the sample out more.

I suppose it might smell a bit like weed on me (I know very well what weed smells like in all its varieties lol), but mostly I get patchouli--not the refined licorice patchouli of Dior or Comme des Garcons but the Haight Street dirty kind (I have lived near the corner of Haight and Asbury since the '80s). This is not to say that I don't like the fragrance because it's very good. There is enough sage and citrus on top to keep it clean and crisp and enough moss/vetiver on the bottom to extend the green profile while still letting the patchouli drive.

Like most of the reviews say it's not straight up cannabis, but it has a lot of the same allure and bright notes that are pleasing about the smell of fresh cannabis. Definitely smells green and complex - I think it makes for an excellent unique fragrance and its good for spring/summer for sure.

Opens with a beautiful green sage. Cedar appears. There’s a subtle bud scent. A nice soft rounded green fragrance. Like sitting near moss in the shade on a warm day. I’d wear this or might give it to the hubby.

Great opening with a clean airy herbal note. Not overtly cannabis, but definitely brite & herbal. There’s a clean white musk that appears pretty quickly. Good lounging fragrance, but more of a personal scent.

I'm getting a strong resemblance of Creed Royal Oud. Sparkling citrus on top, smoky woods in the middle with some amber and spices in the heart.

An extremely dry and distinct mix of herbal (mainly patchouli), cedar and moss. So, so dry that almost makes my nose tingle.

I like this, very versatile, more petrichor than anything on my skin. Addictive, intimate- not sexy, raw.

Extremely similar to Akro Haze, but lighter.

This is a pretty masculine moss forward scent, with some sweet sage, green tea and some synthetic cannabis in the opening notes. The grapefruit is sweet, and mixed with the vetiver it gives an almost vibrating feel to it. The cedar is also prominent and makes the whole composition dry, almost hay-like. Nevertheless, the cannabis disappears pretty quickly and it ends up as a moss scent once again. When you look at the notes it is fairly easy to pick them apart even though it actually feels well blended. Though, the scent is very much in the green realm. It dries fast down to an even more synthetic moss/cannabis scent with a slightly sour undertone which probably is the patchouli. I usually love a dark and damp patchouli, but I don’t feel like it works here (or it does in a way, it smells like a cellar where you grow the plants yourself). In the actual drydown an hour later, the scent has transformed into a more cologne/fougere herbal scent. It almost reminds me of something my grandfather wore in the 2000’s, so for me it is personally comforting at this stage. With that being said, it would probably just feel as synthetic if it weren’t for that smell association. Lastly, I will say that even though I don’t really like the scent that much I still love the bright green bottle so I can fully understand people wanting this one in their collections.

Opens with a clary sage forward, grapefruit and orange bias (the petitgrain isn’t notable), but then transitions leafy-cannabis forward, with a woody-ambery bias. The cannabis here isn’t really the one from the buds (the skunk smell) but more from the leaves, so really this is more of a unique take on the genre of green frags. This is made more obvious by the background facets that have a “damp earthy woody” kind of undertone that serves as a continuum of the middle notes with the cashmere woods+musk and moss+patchouli artfully serving as supports to the middle notes. This profile is here to stay, and though it is a unique green that I haven’t smelled before, I can’t personally say this is for me.

Doesn’t smell like cannabis to my nose, but it does smell like pretty much all the other listed notes: there’s sage, vetiver, cedar, moss, and even a splash of grapefruit juice. As other reviewers have said, this is a “dry” scent, and it’s rather bitter. Unisex scent but leans heavily to the masculine side. I wouldn’t buy a full bottle just because it’s pretty much the opposite of my usual tastes, but it was fun to try.

What @Dgouvea said. It's buzzy and tickles the nose. It smells like unburned high quality buds mixed with something camphoric. Performance is much worse than Kasbah and Habana which last forever. I've tried 8 or 9 from this house and this one, L'Air Barbes, and Capri do not last on my skin. I put up with Capri because it smells soooo good. This one doesn't excite me at all but it's not bad. Scent 5/10 Performance 4/10

Realistic freshly grounded cannabis in the opening. Slowly evolves into a woody, minty scent. Medicinal to the point it reminds me of Vick Vaporub in the middle, but when it settles it reminds me of aftershave. Vanishes after an hour and a half on my skin.

One of the better cannabis notes I tried but I still don't really like it. This one smells a bit moldy on my skin... I'll pass.

No way in hell should something this tame, be called Chronic. This is weak. This is a lil baby joint.

smells almost identical to akro haze

Interesting opening, among citrus fruits, petitgrain, cedar pencils but above all sage. The fresh cannabis note is there, but it's smothered with sage. They are both strong and even when the sillage goes down they don't lead me in any direction. Not a pleasant marijuana, nor a pleasant bouquet-garni. A limbo. It remains a flat aromatic, quite intense green, a little bitter and spicy with musks and warm woods for an almost culinary base with a masculine touch. In the background, the note of cashmir wood that I don't particularly appreciate becomes clearer and here with the musks and the crystalline patchouli, it gives a slightly cheeky, sharp effect. A little antiseptic. It softens further while remaining almost the same, just a little more woody. Like a closet that has been closed for some time with mothballs. On me, it's smoked in 4 hours. Meh.

Got this as a sample from LuckyScent because I really wanted to try a cannabis fragrance - I love the smell of fresh bud. I don't detect much cannabis in this at all. It's mostly very herbal and patchouli, at least in the opening. It reminds me of the Alkalol sinus rinse - I know because I accidentally spilled some last night and then put this fragrance on this morning lol. The opening is way too in-your-face herbal and medicinal for me, but I do like the drydown, which is a lovely soft herbal/woody/earthy scent. Don't love the drydown enough to endure the opening every time though. I wouldn't buy a full bottle. Also the opening smelled better when I went out in the cold to take my dog out as opposed to in my home. I wish the citrus had been more prominent as well.

It’s funny, I’ve had Chronic sitting in my collection for 4- 5 years, quietly minding its own business and only recently did I start truly enjoying it. Back when I first bought it, I expected a straight‐up cannabis bomb, the same contentious green punch I get from others in my line-up like Smoke for the Soul, Cannabis Blue, Open Sky, Green Bubble, Sweet Leaf and the rest of my “herbal” crew. But Chronic takes a completely different path. Instead of going heavy and resinous, it opens like someone just ran a lawnmower over a perfectly dewy field, scooped up the clippings, and tossed them into a juicer. It’s fresh-cut grass turned into a chlorophyll shot, spiked with a subtle cannabis tincture for good measure. There’s a brightness to it: fresh, grassy, woody, musky, almost like nature in liquid form. What makes it even more enjoyable is how it behaves when layered. Paired with its sibling Purple Haze, the whole thing becomes earthier, deeper, more atmospheric. Together, they give me that “Hazy Shade of Winter” feeling: green turned slightly shadowy, fresh turned slightly psychedelic, a soft veil of cold air over something warm and beating underneath. Chronic may not have been what I expected at first but now it feels like the green, vibrant detox juice of my fragrance wardrobe, surprisingly addictive once you get past the first sip.

No, don’t believe this perfume smells like mj. I own it and know it well. It smells mossy, herbaceous, and a little chlorophyll green. Lang day and fishwife below describe it well. I have never smelled the natural green plant of cannabis. I don’t know what chronic really smells as I’ve never smelled it before. But if it smells like any other green plant you smell in the grasslands, perhaps with pungent mossy facets, then I would agree. But never like the scent of mj cigarette/smoke. Having said that, I like the surrounding citrus and woody notes around the “green cannabis plant” scent I get. I own about 5-6 cannabis based perfumes. I have to say this note, to my nose, is “meh”, not attractive or inattentive. They all smells green, herbaceous and mossy. Nothing really automatically pleasing. It’s the surrounding notes blended what may take this note to an alluring level because the note per se is dull.

I've been curious about 19-69 so this is my first. Upon application, it's all moss and petitgrain. BPAL has a scent called "Deep in Earth" that has the same moss note that produces that kind of 'dankness' that I can see working as a substitute for marijuana. However, it doesn't really smell like weed, but I can see what they're going for and how the damp earthy forest floor moss can work to create the illusion of a marijuana accord. After it begins to dry down, I'm getting more cedar and musk. It's certainly handsome, but I'm not sure it's that memorable or stands out enough on its own outside of the hook of smelling like 'chronic.'

1990s: liberalization of cannabis. The radios play “The Chronic”, DR DRE's album. This is what inspired this fragrance, which is hard, initially stunning, with the main note being cannabis. I feel it is really very masculine, and here, unlike many other fragrances with this ingredient, I don't find it suitable for me. On a man however it is really pleasant.

I really liked the bright herbal opening, but there’s something in this that I don’t like. I’m guessing it might be their cannabis note thinking of the other 19-69 fragrances where I’ve noticed the same smell..idk. The best i can describe it is that it comes across like a sweet plasticky smell to my nose and it’s off putting to me.

Pretty spot on cannabis note. Out of all the 10+ cannabis fragrances I’ve tried this is the first one that realistically smells like it. Love the grapefruit and amber with it fantastic stuff! Want to try pink Jesus next

This is a beautiful strange bright herbal scent. A little zingy, freshly wettened greens. Hard fo describe and very different to all my other green fragrances. Does not smell like w33d at all.

Nice sage forward mossy herbaceous green that is mellowed by the cashmere wood and cedar. I do not detect any cannabis. Lasts a good 3 to 4 hours. Certainly worth a sample.

I got a totally different impression from the name & colour of the liquid but upon first sniff, it's nice! Definitely unusual but it's a nice, light green smell

very summery, light and green. i don’t really smell the cannabis note but its definitely herbal if thats the right word for it.

For a little while I get asparagus pee. Definitely an odd one. 0 out of 5.
