Villa Nellcôte

This perfume is one of the freshest fragrances I’ve ever smelled. It starts out with a very citrus forward smell and the pepper makes the top notes more exciting. I really like this part of it and it feels really balanced with the heart notes and the base notes. Then after awhile you start to notice the floral notes more, especially the rose which smells fantastic and is the most prominent of the heart notes. The drydown is really nice and the basenotes smells very woody and foresty which works really good with the heart notes. This part of the drydown turns out to be more masculine smelling but still it is overall a quite feminine fragrance. Villa Nellcote is a quite elegant perfume that suits every occasion. It could be an office scent and I could imagine a woman wearing this on a date. I love unisex fragrances but I can’t imagine a very masculine guy wearing this one, but if you like floral fragrances then you should give this one a try. I find this perfume to be really good, but I won’t buy the bottled version because it is too feminine. On a woman this would be perfect.

This is a remarkable scent. It's fresh but in a elegant way and with a distinct personality. I am a male and i agree with the others reviews , this is different from all the other "fresh" fragrances, it has more florals but it's not feminine, it is unisex but for me is more suited on a man. It has the right amount of citrus and floral notes but there is also a touch of sweetness sustained by a slightly woody base. It is really fresh I love this fragrance during summer! I also love to layer this blend with some sprays of santal carmin by atelier cologne to add some structure , especially during summer nights, they works really well togheter! The performance is good, not extraordinary but good. For me this is a very good fragrance!

Starts off w/ a fresh spicy petigrain and lemon blossom which I really love. What ruins the opening of the perfume for me is the elemi, which belongs in male fragrances in my opinion because it has an overwhelming barbershop quality. As the heart notes come a long, I get a lot of magnolia and tea. I do not get rose or osmanthus or violet at all. A bit of jasmine is coming through, but this is not a jasmine perfume, jasmine, magnolia, and lemon blossom are the main florals I get w/ this perfume. It is a very lemony floral. Pretty musk dry down that I like. The moss and woods are not overdone, they just ground the perfume and they do make it unisex. I would really like this if it didn't have elemi in the opening. It reminds me of a unisex version of Jean Patou's Nacre a perfume I own and love and will mourn when my bottle is gone. When the opening dissipates and the elemi fades, I like this a lot more. If you like lemon blossom and magnolia w/ a soft musky, mossy, and woodiness in the dry down and can get past the opening w/ a elemi note this is a perfume you should check out. I may buy this when my bottle of Nacre is gone. It's not as good as Patou's Nacre but it has the lemon blossom and jasmine and the lovely musk that Nacre has.

Opens with a green and lemon-yellow citrus blast that leans masculine—like a freshie cologne with nautical branding—but picks up sweetness and complexity in the drydown. After the citrus burns off it’s still bright: sun-drenched outdoor flowers, aromatic forest, and fluffy white musk. Breezy Mediterranean retreat? Sure, I guess. Truly unisex (or unapologetically and hedonistically androgynous, like the Stones at that villa). Not too heavy or nectar-y, not too woody or mossy. On me, it resolves into a sparkly but subtle rose with a touch of cedar. Expands and rolls off the skin a lot more outside in the heat, as it’s probably meant to.

I really enjoy this fragrance. I don't think it leans very masculine, I would classify it as unisex. A very delicious, captivating opening that is bright & citrusy while not ever becoming too sharp or cleaner-y. Likely the tea and white florals are helping soften this zing. It dries to a very addictive white musk and cashmeran that, again, is not too pungent. Just enough to leave you wanting more

Reminds me of very nice hand soap. Would be nice if you lightly spritzed it for a freshly washed clothes smell but even then it would give grandma vibes in my opinion. Not a bad smell but definitely not for a young person in my opinion coming from an 18-year-old

I’m a male in my early 30’s and this has become my warm weather secret. I don’t normally love zesty fresh fragrances but with the florals (which I feel are quite light) and the touch of sweetness it has, it sets it apart from all the other cliche male ‘fresh’ fragrances everybody else wears. Whilst it doesn’t smell the same, the petit grain and other top notes remind me a bit of Xerjoff’s Renaissance, whilst I’m sure after the opening dies down a bit I start to notice ambroxan in there somewhere. Maybe I’m going mad but because of this, in the mid / dry down it actually gives me a bit of an Aventus vibe every now and then when I get wafts. I’ve got quite a few niche fragrances and would say this is really well blended - I don’t personally pick out too many of the individual notes here, it just feels zesty / bright, slightly floral, slightly sweet with a bit of an overall aquatic feel. Reading the note breakdown it could seem quite complex but it doesn’t come off smelling that way at all. The performance isn’t astonishing and it sits pretty close to the skin, but it does last a long time on my skin and clothes at least. Give it a try fellas, don’t be put off by the flowers it won’t damage your masculinity 😂 Oh also this works great for me layered with Molecule 01 and 02. Peace

This is nice. It's got a buttery, doughy floral aroma. A tad creamy, almost waxy and coated in pollen like there's some element of beeswax. I think I do pick up the violet and then an ozonic, damp, woody aroma in the base that could be magnolia and patchouli. The drydown is complex and it's difficult to pick out it's individual elements. Perhaps a little guaiac to contrast to the soapy rose and tea notes. Overall I get woody-aquatic florals with a light indolic facet, and a texture that continues to feel soft, waxy, and lightly powdered. It's one of those perfumes that have elements of dirtier, off-aromas which make the overall "clean" and pretty composition a bit more compelling and unique, and often easier to wear as a guy. After a few hours it turns towards a more familiar floral-ambery profile.

Powdery lemon and grapefruit, with some florals and woods thrown in to try and balance it out. The only items that stand out on my skin from the laundry list of notes is the citrus, osmanthus and musk. I enjoy woody, aromatic and tea scents, and often wear citrus in the summer, but this one was a miss. The woods were nearly imperceptible, the tea non-existent, and the citrus too sweet and floral. The result is a too-sweet, artificial citrus that’s confused about what it is and as a result ends up being categorised in my mind as lemon-scented floor cleaner.

Powdery citrus and florals, a lovely fresh summery scent. At first it’s strong in the citrus and then starts to dry down powdery and creamy toning down the sharp citrus. It smells a bit like the parma violet sweets on my skin, which I love. The zing of the citrus and a little bit of the pepper comes through but not overwhelming at all. Really underrated fragrance from their collection.

This one is so interesting. It has a manly clean freshness and a sweetness but also quite transparent and subtle. I feel like there’s a similarity between this and sedley by parfums de marly. To me villa nellcote is a softer more transparent version of the scent profile. Much less bright, less Cascalone vibe, less citrus / fruity. I really like it, feels cozy and clean to me.

loved this one the citrus in the beginning brings this lovely fresh quality to compliment the floral notes it is very unisex which is why i gifted it to my friend who was looking for something like that (they ended up loving it as well) i definitely miss it, this might end up being my first repurchase from 19-69

If this is meant to evoke the infamous location for the stones in exile it references the light not the shade, the scents wafting inwards from the sea via the citrus trees and climbing roses.

I can’t believe how under rated Villa Nellcôte is. What a gorgeous showcase of iris / Violet. I have yet to find an iris / violet fragrance that I love more.

Floral/citrus that has a redolence of opening a tub of Play-Doh. Decent projection.
