24 Elixir Ambrosia

Someone on my Fragrance discounters page trashed this cologne and claimed it was fake, with no staying power either. They also mentioned that it smelled awful. This review here is to ensure that anyone wanting to blind buy this because it looks interesting, please do yourself a favour and don’t hesitate to do so, because this juice is a winner, and so far this is the best bottle I own from the 24 house of colognes, and I own 4 different 24 bottles of different flankers, this being number 5. It truly is a beautiful scent, but be forewarned if you’re not into floral aromatics, then don’t blind this, however, if you’re one to take chances on a cologne, I would go as far to say that you’d be pleasantly surprised, because it shocked me as to how good it is. It definitely leans feminine until the dry down where it does present its more masculine traits with the amber, musk, and patchouli. This is also nothing like Black Orchid either. It’s tough to explain this one because I don’t really have anything quite like it. It’s just a pleasant floral cologne that’s not overbearing and is expertly blended, to the point where nonspecific note overtakes the other. I personally hate rose notes, but it is in here but it’s not the star, it’s sticks around deep in the background. The amber musk combo presents itself by the time you hit the mid with some subtle sweetness. For any woman reading this, if you want a man to keep taking whiffs of you and have something subtle with decent performance, this very well may be the bottle for you. I easily get 5-7 hours, and maybe an additional hour in the dead heat of the summer. If you ever want to get hypnotized by the scent of a beautiful cologne, get some of this on your clothes and come back to it a few days later, you can thank me later. I got this stuff on sale for $29 bucks as a tester for a 100ml bottle and have zero regrets. This is not workplace safe due to the floral notes, but it has tons of versatility and I could see myself wearing this all year round. I did do my research on the perfumer before buying this and were in good hands here. Just opened my new box and sprayed it on. This smells like a nice unisex fragrance. This has been on the last 20 minutes or better and it smells somewhat strong initially, but settles down fast(not referencing to projection). The smell at this time appears somewhat linear. It smells like a mixture of all the notes (all aren't listed but you can see them on their website). It smells like a toned down floral due to the amber, patchouli, and pralines, which is good cause I haven't met many florals that I like. I really hoped the amber and pralines were more prominent. Wait this one might be a sleeper as the base notes are becoming more apparent. For now, I will give this 7 which is a solid score. If you are a woman you can wear this without issue. Guys, this is unisex, again it is a middle eastern type of frag/scent. If you like gender benders this one isn't bad. This frag isn't ground backing, I didnt know what to expect but I did expect something different. *ok, so I stepped away from the computer for a little while to eat and what not and sniffed my wrist. It is developing more and I am picking up more amber. It could be that because it is a parfum and this brand(?) that it is taking a while for it to unfold and develop. I have all the elixir line and they do take a little time to develop. Another review will be revisited. Until then find a decant, but if you like ME frags, have eclectic taste or just like different and oriental scents give it a try. Happy Sniffing. UPDATE (11/9/17) - I gave this one another wearing and I really enjoyed it. The notes are blended well yet discernable. The praline note really tones down the florals while giving it a little something extra. I recommend this gem and will be buying a backup bottle

This is my of Elixir Ambrosia, from the now-discontinued 24 line by ScentStory, a primarily floral and sweet creation, including notes of rose, vanilla, musk, as well as some other spicy notes that may include patchouli, tarragon, and saffron. It leans sweet and bright but not over-the-top / juicy sweet, and still with plenty of floral burst. I think it’s a solid, robust floral option for anyone and for any time of the year despite inherently leaning feminine. Frankly, it’s the only release from the 24 line that’s slightly feminine and presumably marketed to women, unless I’m forgetting one. Its performance is very good, its concentration is EDP, and it is sold via the NY-based discounter FragranceX at a reasonable $51 for 100ml. I’m not blown away by it but it’s very agreeable and I’d certainly recommend trying it if you come across it. 7 out of 10

#862 in my "Tour de Fragrance" This fragrance is apparently discontinued as the eBay scalpers appear to be the last remaining source. Even the Canadian suppliers I usually find have the hard to find scents don't have it. I've purchased five of the ScentStory "24" fragrances. This is musky, floral, fruity and powdery, more a scent for women than men. I wouldn't mind smelling this on a woman. I'm not sure I'd ever wear it myself, though it gets much less feminine in the dry down when it's a pretty straight forward praline-amber scent. Certainly good longevity and sillage for the money if they were charging what they charge for new bottles of the other scents still out there. But the eBay sellers want $60 and up, so I thought about just passing on this, but I bought it anyway. I'll give it to a female friend I know will like it.

I have 5 Scentstory fragrances...3 I Iike very much (24 Gold, 24 Platinum, and 24 Elixir Neroli)...but the other 2 (24 Elixir Azur and 24 Elixir Ambrosia) are dreadfully ho-hum boring...I was having high hope for 24 Elixir Ambrosia, but they don't get anymore ho-hum than this...absolutely forgetful and could easily be mistaken for a dollar store bargain bin fragrance...It appears that Scentstory has run dry on creativity and has completely fizzled out with this nothingness.
