24 Elixir Rise Of The Superb

There's something to be said for simplicity. Rise of the Superb is a straightforward amber fragrance, but does offer a certain uniqueness in the way it combines modern chemicals but blended so well - in the way a lot of old school scents were - where you can't tell where one note ends or another begins. ROTS is a smooth spiced amber with a citric and floral undercurrent. It has hints of HOS 001 or maybe even Roja Dove Enigma Homme - the cola esque spices against a slightly powdery vanilla and woods - but it is less outgoing than either. This is more of a comfort scent, and one of my favorites to wear after a late night shower or on a blustery winter day when you want to curl up on the couch with a good book. As others mention it is somewhat similar to Obsession Edt but comparing them side by side this is more modern. It doesn't have those same powdery musks that make Obsession feel dated. The opening is smooth citrus, cinnamon, coriander, hints of apple... It's fruity-citric but no one note stands out. It's spiced but not spicy if that makes sense - like say Spicebomb Night Vision edt or EDP, lots of spices present but rendered smooth and sweet, all rough edges sanded off. The mid is an almost effervescent amber, with an interesting mahogany-like note (this phase is what calls to mind HOS 001). I think it's relaxing clean vetiver that makes up the bulk of this wood note and it's very different from the modern woody ambers. Lots of vanilla and spices are still present, now more nutmeg and clove/pimento, and it presents as slightly powdery due to bits of rose and a slightly woody orange blossom (more petitgrain like). The amber is so well blended you can't really say it's myrrh or patchouli or labdanum heavy amber - though surely all are present - it is almost archetypal amber. So smooth and comforting. ROTS also calls to mind the first fragrance I ever wore, and which I still love to this day, Avon Mesmerize (vintage 90s formula). So, like Mesmerize I suppose this has links to Davidoff Zino, though again ROTS smells more modern than either. If you want a smooth and non-challenging amber, that is never too-much-of-anything and yet manages to avoid being ho-hum middle of the road give ROTS a sniff!

#626 in my "Tour de Fragrance" I really don't expect much of meme scents and usually they live down to my expectations, but this is the second 24 decant I've tried (the neroli version was great) and for me it's another bottle worthy winner. Definitely masculine but with some fresh qualities that make it unique. Red chili pepper is becoming one of my favorite notes it seems because I keep running into fragrances that feature it that I love. The dry down on this is a bit more ambery as the citrus fades out, but still very likeable. I don't get Calvin Klein Obsession comparison at all. It's not even close to me. Gucci Guilty, if you mean the "Love Edition", a nice EDP if you haven't tried it. I like this kind of in the same way. Also in this ballpark is Spicebomb Night Vision. This fragrance, Gucci Guilty Love Edition and Night Vision all have low ratings on here, but not the first time my taste has gone against the majority and won't be the last. I think if you don't overspray this is carpool, elevator and office safe, but I save these very ambery scents for dates. Acceptable EDP longevity and sillage, but not great, though it sure sticks to your clothing. It's not a bargain at $70, but it's not overpriced and I can't come up with a lower priced alternative that smells like this. I think it's worth owning.

Honestly? It's not bad. Reminds me of Creed's vetiver geranium with powdery nuances. I get plenty of Geranium, Orange, red pepper(not spicy, just the smell, unopened), and sourness of bergamot. It isn't like Vetiver Geranium, but the geranium is certainly quite natural. the linearity of this fragrance is the initial 10 mins to dry down of vetiver geranium. but it is so so powdery. i can't stress that enough I think this is worthwhile to split with your collector friends. I can't see myself going through a FB though. Price is on par for what you get. Try to buy this at a reasonable price at a site like FragBuy.. Your mileage may vary. You might love this scent. It's also definitely not feminine. It's unisex. Something here balances it out. Probably the bergamot sourness

Tried this from FragranceX and, wow, really nice and not much like anything I've come across. It was interesting to learn bergamot and orange were notes because, while the opening was fruity, it did not feel citrusy. It must be that artemisia gives it a "greener," more herbal opening which I loved. I got a licorice note from this along with amber. Can definitely see this working for a woman or a man, but particularly for a younger man (20s-30s). It strikes me as office friendly as it's not too heavy, but I can see it also working for a date. It was a little warm on the skin (perhaps the pepper?), so be careful if your skin is sensitive. Would definitely wear again.

ScentStory 24 Elixir: Rise of Superb is an agreeable semi-masculine, semi-fresh creation. It's the latest release from the Elixir sub-line within the ScentStory 24 line. It has a good balance of citrus, minty tingle, woods, and herbs, a mild-to-warm-weather-leaning experience that leans slightly masculine while being agreeable to the point of being unisex. The note listing includes bergamot, orange, orange blossom, geranium, red chili pepper, amber, vetiver, and patchouli, overall a pretty reasonable formula for a winner. The geranium, pepper, vetiver, and patchouli provide the sort of minty, spicy, earthy blend that complements the opening freshness and keeps the blend feeling sophisticated. This is an easy winner without being superlative, a good value at Fragrancebuy.Ca for $56 for 100ml, a reasonable designer-ish price. It’s a versatile offering and closest, as some have said, to the original 24 or perhaps 24 Go Dark, but still distinct in its own right. It’s a nice offering. 7 out of 10

Smells more like something that would come from the Gucci Guilty line. I really enjoy this one.

OK, so I gave the sample I got multiple wearings and I have to update my initial thoughts. The opening is masculine without a doubt. It's a warm spicy composition with lots of amber and the chili pepper note giving it that kick. This is the nice part of the fragrance, and definitely something I would wear. As it dries down, though, it becomes much more powdery and unisex. I'm not sure which note in particular is responsible for this but it's not nearly as warm or addicting as the opening. Ultimately, I could take or leave this fragrance; nothing special to me.

The sample I got gives me a TON of amber. I would say it's more "warm spicy" than fresh spicy" but that's just me. Leans masculine IMO.

This starts off with a powdery orange and develops into a smoothe and seductive amber....I was hoping for more vetiver, you don't really detect any until the far drydown and its a slight whisper. ROTS is semi sweet and has a creamy like accord that really reminds me of something ive smelled before just cant put my finger on it...also this has a nice spice to it not like a spicebomb spicy but more toned down! Id say it's exceptionally blended because its hard to pick out specific notes....the red pepper and geranium are non existant to my nose...it has a similarity to something like grand soir by MFK but towards the tail end of grand soir as its dried down completely...in my opinion this is cloning something I just cant figure it out but all in all it's really nice in my opinion I'll be wearing the shit out of this Smell 8.5/10 Longevity 7/10 Sillage 7/10 Compliments TBD

This is a Calvin Klein Obsession remake that's all i can say.

I love this line. Looking forward to having it.
