Clouds

Sampling 4160 Tuesdays Clouds EDP, the version with more natural ingredients, contra Clouds Illusion, the rendition with synthetics, with each creation originally being available in both parfum and eau de parfum concentrations. I own Clouds Illusion EDP, arguably the lightest and brightest concentration, and I’m trying out a sample of Clouds EDP today. The richness and opulence of the ingredients is more obvious in Clouds, the vanilla, in particular, having a denser quality to it, relative to Illusion. The balance is the same, I’d say, among the principal notes, though: the orris/iris, vanilla, and narcissus. The mix also features sandalwood and hay. As with Illusion, Clouds is a revelation (to me) of how well with the powdery/creamy iris/orris can be mix with vanilla while keeping the mix feeling pleasantly balanced—light, powdery, fresh, and sweet, all together, harmoniously. Again, Clouds is richer and denser than Clouds Illusion, which is brighter, slightly more fleeting, but still as interesting. The Clouds collection was originally only available through the 4160 Tuesdays site as part of a crowdfunding effort led by Christi Long (of Eau My Soul). That’s how I came to know Clouds Illusion EDP first, as that’s the bottle I chose during the crowdfunding campaign. Clouds and Clouds Illusions in their various forms seem to be sold out through most of the retailers, but I believe they’ll make a comeback in new formulations and I look forward to their return. I love both Clouds and Clouds Illusion and I imagine any future variations will also be excellent, high-performing, versatile juices. 8 out of 10

Really love this fragrance and wish I had gotten my paws on it sooner, as a FB would have been needed! Will just have to try the newest version, Both Sides of Clouds. The perfume smells just as I expected and hoped for, which is always cool when that happens, like fluffy, soft, meringue. It is extremely well-balanced. I smell all the notes in perfect harmony. A soft lemon that isn't sour or juicy at all, starchy orris providing an exceptional smoothness and earthy anchor, something green that provides a subtle lift, and a vanilla-like base that does not get too sweet nor cloying. To me it has the feel of an old classic, because of its perfect balance and a bit of powderiness...but at the same time it doesn't smell vintage at all. It's something I would wear in the same circumstances as I would wear Chanel N.5. It's elegant and hard to imagine it rubbing anybody the wrong way. I like the fact that it stands definitively in the modern era though. Wonderful stuff that will get used quickly! Grateful for the decant I was gifted (thank you, perfume pal ; ) .

This is stunning. And so we’ll blended I’d challenge anyone to name what’s in it without knowing the notes. It has a fresh slight citrus vibe, but retains the slight yummy warmth of vanilla, and a sweet floral going on too. Overall it’s just divine, it smells of high quality ingredients, and lasts forever on my skin. I’d love to smell like this. So happy I managed to find a 9ml of this! I have the EDP.

I was one of the fortunate people to attend the open day at 4160 Tuesdays yesterday. Meeting Sarah was a joy; she is so happy to chat about fragrance and the stories behind her creations. As luck would have it, they had found a box of the original Clouds and I left happily clutching my bottle. It’s the soft vanilla iris I was always looking for, and I woke up today still smelling it around me.

The opening is literally high quality lemon meringue and wild iris. I'm not sure why but this one has a retro feeling to me. Maybe the quality of the ingredients ? Anyhow the opening is strong but it settles into a more tame and discrete version of what you smell at first. It's really nice and to me this is an elegant all occasions perfume. At first I was not the biggest fan but it grew on me. Despite the vanilla and its richness it's wearable during colder Summer days because of the lemony note. I own both sides of the clouds. I really like 4160 Tuesdays so far. Just enough "quirkiness" in their creations to make them different while staying really wearable. Pricing is also quite reasonable. They also don't take themselves too seriously and you can detect a touch of "British" coolness in Sarah's creations.

This is sublime! Its a softly sweet cloud of fresh dewy citrusy notes to start. So skillfully blended, it takes you on a fragrant ride. Wonderfully feminine to my nose. That must be the light clouds. Then it mellows to a more achingly melancholy dry grass powdery earthiness. I guess that is the hay note, vanilla and orris butter, though I am not sure what orris butter smells like. The overall feel is a sweet mushroom of earth notes, then, back up to a waft of more uplifting and soaring lemon infused sweet flowers. It weaves and oscillates up and down, simulating the slowly moving clouds. From light to dark. A delicious perfume of subtle contrast with moderate sillage for me, lasting over 8 hours. I don't have Clouds Illusion but I hear its almost identical to this. Go to the 4160 website for the wonderful story of this perfume and its synthetic sister Clouds Illusion. This is a masterpiece for me. So glad to have a 9mls of it from a fantastic January Joy Box offer Sarah and her team organised. Amazing fragrance house. Truly, there is just something about this. “Clouds” by 4160Tuesdays, London: Bravely, it stands up, and effortlessly out-performs any great perfume in history. A masterpiece of balance and elegant restraint. Making lavish and copious use of the finest raw materials available today, Clouds is purportedly so costly to construct it is near impossible to sell on an open market. A thing of great subtlety and unusual finesse, Clouds successfully evokes a beautiful, fluffy ride through fogs and mists. Like falling gently asleep, then dreaming of a slow-motion fall into a vat of soft, mysterious, yet beautiful, feathery things. Remarkably, Clouds' sillage envelopes the wearer ever so delicately, and boasts longevity that simply wont quit. Totally kaleidoscopic, and inducing of a nose-to-wrist repeat action that just wont stop being fascinating. Perhaps best of all, this is a perfume that never devolves, and finishes flirting slyly on a downy feather silk-covered pillow of exquisite comfort. Clouds is a triumph by one of the industry's most promising emergent noses, Sarah McCartney.

This is a review for both sides of clouds- im not 100% sure on this one.. first impressions were I liked it. My 4 year old thought it smelled like lemonade which in my book is a compliment 😂 After about 5-10 minutes it really strongly smelled like a lush bath bomb (cbd one to be exact!) I like lush and use their products but I dont really want to smell like a bath bomb. Its not listed but I feel like one of the florals in it is an inscence 🤷♀️ I think i need to try it again as I didnt mind it after about an hour. Definitely can smell the citrus followed by a inscence floral

I have both Clouds edp and Clouds Illusion edp and to be honest, it is delightful owning both. They are just different enough in the phases that they move through and the feelings they evoke that I can justify having both. Clouds is creamy and enchanting. Yes, there's some powder to it but it's all so well blended that it just flows from green to creamy to powdery to warm and you can feel the quality of the absolutes used in the creation of this one. This is fragrance with a bright opening and a soulful drydown, and it lasts 10+ hours on my skin. Really lovely.

if your a fan of orris butter or vanilla fagrances this is dream land! i adore orris butter and this is one of the best fragrances i have ever tested in this category! its not cheap but it smells of pure luxury! well done 4160 tuesdays!
