Dirty Honey

blind bought a full bottle of this and others by 4160 but this one is a big standout for me. i smelt it for the first time and my first impression is.. fucking gorgeous. i love the concept of smelling like honey, but im not a fan of sickly sweet scents. i am, however, a fan of skanky, animalic scents with a touch of sweetness. so this is right up my alley. to me this smells more like beeswax than honey. old beeswax that has dislodged from a hive and fallen to the ground. beeswax that has been left to sit and fester amongst some damp, humid soil with some remaining honey that is being eaten by birds and bears. labdanum mixed with this warm, waxy honey is just divine. it’s rich, sexy and moreish. golden, resinous and gooey. funnily enough, the perfume is a bit sticky... when i press my wrists together they ever so slightly attach to one another. love that. really really glad to have bought this just as the leaves are turning yellow and orange. this is an immaculate autumn/winter fragrance!!!! i think this is one of my new favorites.

I think this smells marvelous and my husband definitely agrees. It reminds me a little Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab's 'O' - just a little, and has that same sort of 'feel'. It is a bit dirty, which is sometimes just the ticket! Here's what Sarah has to say about it: "A change of name for my honey scent. Along our street there was a sudden spring blossoming ofMexican mock orange, tiny white flowers that wafted their delightful scent through suburbia for two weeks, then off they went. Mock orange and I have history; when I was two years old I shoved the buds from our garden shrub so far up my nose to get more of the smell that I had to get taken to the doctor's to get them extracted. It was fate. Now I know a bit more about perfume, the blossom smells to me just like dirty honey, so I make myself a version to last all year round. It's a white flower fragrance, made with beeswax and honey absolutes, woods, vanillin and labdanum, jasmine and honeybush extract."

The first notes to hit me are the beeswax and honey which remain the strongest notes all the way through. The alcohol starts to evaporate away the wonderful Mexican orange blossom now comes much more to the fore along with the jasmine, vanillan and spicey woods. I have a mexican orange blossom shrub in the back garden and I can smell the flowers fragrance here. On the dry down there is labdanum then faintly almost a peach note along with a sort of orange blossom sherberty sweetness which is Sarahs fragrance signature. Perfectly unisex as not too sweet. Ive got to say though that I prefer L'Artisan Parfumeur Seville de l'aube in cool weather but DH is fantastic is warm weather. It really smells amazing on a warm night. Do try it. The sillage is moderate and the longevity is moderate on me.

OMG! This stuff is smokin. Dirty Honey indeed. Sweet, alluring and with time down right raunchy. This is no sickly girly honey. This is what you wear with your best seduction gear. He will be nibbling your ear lobes in no time. This is so different to the batch 1 Dirty Honey though. No skank. Its warm, resinous and just a touch dirty. A real bodice ripper. I'm not sure if it is different now because I am a vegetarian. My diet is spicy fusion. Who knows! This will be contentious but for me its TF Jasmin Rouge coated in wild honey. I LOVE Jasmin Rouge. I guess it could be unisex but I think it's a confident, sexy woman's fragrance with one thing on her mind 😁 Good longevity and sillage in this 16 degree room.

I get syrupy honey, a hint of pencil shavings, and a faint sweet incense scent when I wear this one. I was torn between a ‘love’ or ‘like’ rating, but I ultimately went with love, because I felt an urge to wear this twice, and I don’t often give my ‘likes’ a second wearing (unless I’m trying to compare them to another scent). There’s something dripping-sweet about this fragrance that I find crave-able. However, I wouldn’t want anyone else to smell this on me, because that pencil-shaving & incense undertone does indeed smell a little dirty, like the perfume’s name. I agree with a previous reviewer that this is one to just enjoy all by myself.
