Mrs Gloss Lemon Sherbet

This is the exact lemon fragrance I've been searching for!! 4160 Tuesdays is quickly becoming one of my favorite houses. The citrus is bright and photorealistic, like smelling the juice and the rind. Stunning mouthwatering lemon, not like cleaner at all. This first burst of juicy lemon is softened fairly quickly with THE creamiest loveliest vanilla that's not too sweet, like a fancy vanilla custard. The lemon remains throughout but retreats to the background. My official sample states that there is also orris in the base and I can sense a soft buttery orris grounding the fragrance and keeping it from being 100% edible gourmand, and this balance is what I think pushes this fragrance from a like to a love for me. I didn't think I would like this from the reviews but I'm so glad I ordered a sample. Immediately bought a full bottle!

My God this scent is just so delectable! It is definitely gourmand but it's not sickly sweet or girly. Vanilla and lemon were made for each other. Lemon curd on vanilla muffins. I'm talking the American muffins but not quite as sweet. The citrus notes have never smelt so good. There is still some freshness and the vanilla is restrained. This is quite a linear scent although I think the sweetness eases off a bit and you are much more aware of the bergamot and orange. The musk is present but it is very low key. It smells so natural and not synthetic like many gourmands can. It's one classy gourmand. I would say unisex but fellas you would have to enjoy gourmands. I get good longevity and sillage in this warm environment.

I have an extremely hard time with a prominent lemon note. (Example: Lira smelled a little too much like lemon pledge in the opening for me.) But Mrs Gloss is so gorgeous. I actually found a lemon fragrance that I love. It's not sharp at all. The lemon is the most prominent note but it's more like a dainty lemon. Very soft, sweet with a small hint hint of powderiness on a base of fluffy marshmallow and vanilla base. I can't stop smelling my wrists. The only downfall is how fleeting this fragrance is. I really wish it lasted more than an hour on my skin. But truth be told, I'll bring a decant in my purse and reapply all day long if I have to. I'll be wearing this a lot during spring and summer.

Lemon Sherbet is so wonderful on me. It's such a simple yet effective fragrance. It opens up, as people have said, just as it will smell for the majority of its lifespan... but its a little bit smoky at the start. After about three or four hours it dries down to a beautiful lemon cream crispy biscuit and that puts the biggest smile on my face. I only just got this two days ago and its all I want to wear. Now one of my favourite gourmands.

Mrs Gloss' Lemon Sherbet has been high on my test list for quite a while, because I always love a well-made gourmand lemon scent, and the note list of this one looked particularly enticing to me. On top of that, I've also been curious about exploring the 4160 Tuesdays house more, just because I like the name and the indie spirit of the brand, as well as the fact that their perfumes' names and notes list spark my interest more often than not when I come across them here on Fragrantica. With such high expectations, it's no wonder that I'm slightly disappointed now that I've finally gotten my hands on a decant, even though I do like the scent and find it true to its name. The combination of tart citrus and sweet biscuits with a whiff of vanilla to tie it all together does smell delicious, but it has a few things going against it, in my book. Most of all, this is quite personal: however much I'm tempted to try every lemon gourmand on the planet, I should do better to remember that it's very unlikely that any of them will ever top the perfect example already in my wardrobe, Kerosene's Unknown Pleasures. I have to admit this one comes a lot closer to that than any other lemon gourmand I've tried, and it's a lot cheaper to boot, but it's just not quite the real thing to me - less exuberant, a lot less long-lived, and with a slightly synthetic edge to it in the opening (probably the musk note that I could do without in this composition - there are other ways to make a gourmand less straightforwardly edible and a little more sophisticated). All this sounds rather negative, but I do really like this scent - in fact I know I'd be rushing to buy a full bottle if it wasn't for Unknown Pleasures. On its own this is wonderful, but the comparison makes it rather useless to me, unfortunately.
