New York 1955

I had a 1/4 full sample of this from a lovely Aussie Fragrance Network member and loved it so much. Sadly, this sample is now gone ... but in a wonderful twist of events (and due to a lovely friend who has offered to bring my purchases to me in Melbourne), I now own a 30mL bottle. As this type of scent isn't usually what I'd go for and the money I can spend is somewhat low, I purchased this during the scent of the week specials. (along with a 30mL bottle of Dark Heart of Old Havana) This reminds me of those pink lifesaver musks. It's sweet, pink and ever so pretty while also being a bit powdery. There's a rose in there too, it smells a bit like something from an expensive rose attar. 8.5/10 for this one. Personally, as its not my usual type of scent, its lower than 9.5 which would be my objective rating. I can wear the heck out of this.

This smells SO girly and "pink" and fun! Candied violets, raspberry, vanilla and musk. If you like big pink fragrances like Lipstick Rose, you need to give this one a try. I don't normally go for anything this sweet and pink but something about NY 1955 makes it work. Feels like big sillage also but I can't sniff myself so I'm not sure but I feel like a big, sweet, pink, powdery cloud! It actually reminds of an amped up and sweeter Kenzo Flower. If you like lipstick/makeup type fragrances this is a must try!

This is a really beautiful powdery Iris with a fruity element to it. The raspberry and violet are the strongest notes for me. Once it dries down the vanilla really comes out. It's a sweet, feminine and dainty but strong. It has that vintage-esque lipstick vibe to it. It makes me think of the powdery sweet-tart candies but with a fruity twist. Similar to Jimmy Choo Iris Crush but more fruity. Truth Beauty Freedom Love from 4160 Tuesdays gives me the same vibe as well.

I received a sample and I'm planning on buying a full bottle. It smells like powdered candy dusted on top of violets and roses. I prefer sweet fragrances so I really enjoy this. I appreciate that it doesn't smell synthetic or alcohol-infused. This is sweet, fruity, and playful. The cotton candy note is definitely there, so if you like gourmand fragrances and want to add another sweet perfume to your collection, please give this a try.

This smells to me like an ice cream sundae - vanilla ice cream with red berry jam sauce. There is violet and rose hiding in there too. It makes me think of an ice cream parlour with its hairsprayed and powdered ladies. This is a fun and friendly fragrance that suits all ages.
