Salt Rose

THE. MOST. Stunning, beautiful, addictive and unusual rose ever. It's savoury and salty, so much so that it's actually mouth watering. A little fresh, a little woody, and delicious through and through. Never have I ever come across anything like this before. It's almost indescribable! Get yourself a sample because this needs to be experienced. I only have 30ml and I'll be needing about a litre more thank you.

Sampling 4160 Tuesdays Salt Rose, an aptly-named fresh, salty, musky, floral blend that’s a cross between a spring day and a trip to the beach, rather sharp, and invigoratingly so, a sort of morning wake-up that’s slightly green and marine, and feels like being on holiday. I do not find it to be overly rosy, but more generically floral, albeit not powdery. Its floral aspect is really interesting, and I’ve not smelled rose used this way before. And the vegetal side is really a good balance of marine, green, dirty, and clean, quite natural but not to the point of smelling exactly like being in a field or at sea, but some idea of it. The salty rose aspect is fittingly the most noteworthy. Salt Rose is EDP concentration and is sold both on the UK house site and US retailers like Perfumology for $182/122 for 100/50ml, and it unsurprisingly performs quite well for a fresh-leaning fragrance, unsurprising for the house. 7 out of 10

A very unique take on rose. I bought a bigger decant from a fellow fraghead who was disappointed with this fragrance and I admit that I love this one in summer! It doesn't develop with time, maybe just loses a bit of the mineral touch that is very prominent at the beginning, and the rose itself becomes more pronounced, but that's it. No evolution apart from that which is completely fine from my point of view - it's invigorating and performs great in heat, no false note and no sourness appear, it never gets muddy or too sweet, it doesn't overwhelm, it's also quite long lasting given the scent profile. Salty, rosy, mineral and unisex, that's just it and it still does the work.

This is absolutely beautiful - the rose and sandalwood combination works so well. The longevity is great on my skin, although it’s quietly persistent, rather than shouting its presence. It’s quite floral for me, which isn’t my usual scent profile, but this could be full bottle-worthy for me. Edit: I did buy a full bottle of this and I have no regrets.
