Belle de Nuit

I’ve had this beauty for a while and I don’t regret choosing it. For easier comparison, I would suggest thinking of it as FM Lipstick Rose or RP Knightsbridge dialed up to an 11. Instead of settling for a sweet, vanillin rose-iris scented lipstick or compact foundation, you go straight to the very nectar of the flavoring, all ooey and gooey and thick. It smells like an incredibly rich body lotion meant to appetize anyone. A friend told me that this would be the smell of Ariana Grande in the God Is A Woman music video when she was fingering the universe to existence. But, again, this is just an incredibly thick, loud, if not a bit screechy rose-iris-lippy scent with an impossibly thick, creamy marshmallow vanilla base. The fruits help sell the fantasy, of course. I detect the mandarin and peach the most! So, if that is up your alley, I would suggest buying a generous sample and testing it out for yourself. It’s ‘complex’ in that a lot of things are going on but I think it goes on more linear and I love it for staying linear because I find it perfect as it is. It’s not really office safe given how loud it is, I think, but I think you can dress this down if you experiment with how much you spray and the distance. I typically have to wash my clothes right after wearing it for the day because...well it sticks to fabric like thistle. I remember having a sweater left hanging for a week and still remarkably smelling of Belle de Nuit. It’s such a wildly feminine scent but I love wearing it. Be warned that it radiates and sticks for a long time so always spray conservatively until you’re sure you want more. Much like ATH’s other fragrances, it’s simply indulgent. Aaron has always relied on familiar concepts and giving them a megaphone.

I was shocked this only has 2 reviews, therefore I feel compelled to write mine. Think this is sooooo underrated but easily my favourite from ATH and I own quite a few. I think this really works with my chemistry because it's very long lasting and it has quite a strong projection all day long, plus lasts for days on my clothes. For reference my mum tested it as well and it didn't last as long on her skin. I think this opened up my appetite for rose perfumes because I bought at least 7-8 more in the past year but none as good imo. I would sum it up as a complex, well blended sweet rose. Don't think I'd be able to guess any of the other notes, it's quite linear and I love that for this perfume.

Smells like an air refresher aerosol can to me. It reminds me a lot of something City Rhythm puts out. Hard pass, ATH has a lot of great fragrances but this isn't one of them.
