Forbidden

As I write this tonight the very last bottle of Forbidden was just sold off FragranceUSA, and I'm pretty sure that was the last one to be sold literally anywhere. A shame for many, but a small blessing for those who own this very unique gourmand. Nothing smells like this, and the very first day I wore it I had numerous people from work to drinks afterward complimenting it and asking what it was. The opening is gorgeous bright orange/cherry and rich chocolate, that dries down to a decadent sweet table of fruit-filled baked goods in an aromatic dark forest. I know that sounds verbose and corny but that is literally what this smells like, and it's amazing. The concept of this frag is the scent of the "Mad Hatter's Tea Party" and it's insane how close they nailed this. The awesome foundation and blend of base notes makes this extremely wearable and you don't just smell like a piece of sweet cake, it is very complex. I can distinguish individually between all the delicious top & mid notes, and the base notes are so well blended and smooth I feel like they could even stand on their own without the gourmand front. The story behind this frag makes it even more intriguing, as it was discontinued due to personal trauma associated with it from an incident at the ATH factory with the man who conceptualized and helped craft it, a co-worker of Aaron. This is something he has spoken about on livestreams and Q&As so it's no real secret if you follow him. This fragrance lives up to it's name even more that it is unavailable, banished, discontinued and even in the mind of it's creator, Forbidden.

Smells like an organic cherry pie with a bit of chocolate and honey. The chocolate is actually very present at open and I just wish it was stronger on dry down but It’s still there and very lovely and for a gourmand it’s very fresh and wearable. It’s honestly so realistic to a pastry it almost smells edible. The dry down makes me want to bite my arm off cause this might be the best cherry note Ive smelled. Would buy again. 9/10 Update: giving this a 10/10 I finally found out what it smells like to me. It smells like those dark chocolate bars with orange in them mixed with a realistic cherry note. This fragrance may be perfect and my favorite gourmand. On the same level of angels share and might be one of the most underrated fragrances of all time

Recently sold my matte bottle to someone who can cherish it better. I got lucky enough to pick one up before it got word of discontinuation and hype. I was looking for a dark, masculine chocolate covered cherry fragrance. ATH dna differs in this from hard candy elixr. Not as sweet and playful, instead more rosy and powdery as it dried down. Oud so smooth any funkiness is only detectable in the opening. I found that the chocolate being the top note, unfortunately goes away pretty fast. Wish it lasted longer throughout the life of it. This was 10/10 scent wise for me but it’s hard to wear so it gets a 9.5/10.

Masterful gourmand feast I love it from beginning to end. I don't necessarily wear it since I have a small bottle and moved to Germany recently so I can't buy Aaron's perfumes anymore :((( but sometimes I spray it on my wrist during tea time (yes, it has a tea + bakewell cake note) and just indulge my senses. It's not a super sweet fragrance, mind you - it's a sophisticated, well-balanced gourmand perfume. It's like eating small pralines one by one from a master chocolatier collection - each with a different filling - during your afternoon tea. So English. Superb.

I find this fragrance oriented more to the artisan side of perfumery - not quite mass-appealing- so if that's what you're looking for, this is not for you. Nonetheless, I love 'Forbidden'! It's a unique gourmand with so many layers that every single sniff will differ from the previous one. The only thing I can compare this with would be a luxurious dessert in which you catch new and different flavors with each bite. I'm loving the ATH house, and can't wait to get my hands on more of his fragrances.

when i smelled this fragrance, i sensed a shift away from everyday scents, leaning into the craft of perfumery. its not a crowd pleaser, so if thats what you're lookin for, this aint it. but hey, i'm really liking 'forbidden' so far! its a interesting (somewhat polarizing) mix of smells with lots of layers. each sniff brings something new, like biting into a fancy dessert with different flavors in every bite. im a big fan of ath, and im eager to explore more of his scents.

Absolutely stunning scent! This has to be one of the best fragances I've found in a long time. It keeps delivering from the start. Bergamot and cherry bakewell blends beautifully with the subtle captivating oud. As the hours go by I get the chocolate note and the delicious cherry bakewell and oud still going strong! I also love the artistry and the inspiration of ATH behind the fragance.

I'm so glad I got the chance to acquire a bottle of this before Aaron ended his shipping to the EU. It's by far, by far, my most complimented and unique perfume. It radiates for 15 hours and smells like brooding Thai oud with a core of perversion and dirt hiding behind dark chocolate and whipped cream. People will try to eat you. For dressed up occasions in the evening, all year.

Gourmand heaven. Chocolate, vanilla, cherry are the stars on my nose. A bit of freshness at the start, then the patchouli starts appearing slowly. It smells like a big banquet of delicious desserts. Its rich, beast performance, go easy on the sprays with this one. If you like gourmand fragrances, you must have this.

Gorgeous chocolate orange scent, forbidden is quality!! I have the new formulation 2024, I just wished the opening lasted longer as its one of the best I have ever smelled, drydown is really good as well, I can't see how anyone would not like this, great work from Aaron

Absolutely gorgeous fragrance, superfluous blending by ATH here, definitely one of my favourites from the house, beautifully deep and complex with multiple layers that tease your olfactory senses as it evolves on the skin, wow just wow....

Amazing fragrance, was gutted when it got discontinued. So glad to hear its coming back under a different name soon! Absolutely enormous projection and longevity!!

The best cherry scent ever. I usually hate cherry in perfumes, but this one does it so well. Just beautiful gourmand goodness.

If you like gourmand you will like this I wore it last night, it’s not for me and not somthing is wear but this is amazing it smell expensive it pushed off my skin for hours and I can still smell it at 10am, my bedroom smells of forbidden lol. I got a kind of powdery chocolate with a sweet juicy cherry the other fruits felt edible some how probably the chocolate and vanilla , as I said this isn’t for me but if you want to smell like 5 star deserts give this one a try What I’ve noticed with most ATH is that they last on skin for ever and the skin scent after 10-12 hours is always amazing, even when I have not been to keen of the frag I’ve really enjoyed the skin scent , they smell luxurious and expensive.

If Willy Wonka had a signature scent, it would be this. Fucking dope

Per a recent email from ATH.... "I have heard your feedback and am delighted to announce that forbidden will be returning with a new name. But no changes to the formula or price. As soon as the labels come we will get busy and I will announce the new name soon."

Sweet, boozy, chocolatey and an absolute powerhouse. It smells like if you melted orange chocolate then added some rum & cherry liqueur to the mix. Smells a lot like Fifty Four by Jusbox. This has the same boozy chocolate vibe which that one has.

Aaron, in his review of Angels' Share, said how he'd improve it - by adding more naturals, bergamot, rose, lemon, and eucalyptus. He was obviously inspired by Angels' share with this one.
