Notorious

Hard Candy Élixir's evil twin Notorious undoubtedly shares similarities with HCE, but there are three specific differences that keep them from being redundant. First, Notorious is a bit darker than HCE. This is a subjective thing as both are still overall pretty bright scents, but Notorious is darker than HCE. Second, Notorious is a bit more mature. Mostly subjective again, but to me it's a touch less sweet than HCE and, along with this "darker" tone, it's a slightly more mature scent in my opinion. Lastly (and this is an objective difference), Notorious has an orange note in the opening that makes this sort of an orange creamsicle scent. You'll see this comparison being drawn quite often and I think it's accurate. As they dry down they become more similar to one another, however, but not to the point they're indistinguishable, Notorious maintains a hint of the orange creamsicle from the opening throughout it's lifespan. Where both fragrances differ is in performance. I needed double the amount of sprays to replicate the strength of Hard Candy Élixir, which isn't great. Sillage is still pretty dense and projection is moderate, but longevity is where this is worse than HCE. HCE lasted a good 8 hours (which isn't bad by any means, but I expected much more based on opinions), but I'm barely reaching 6 hours since I sprayed this on and it's already really faint on my skin. As a small side note, I wore Tabac Extreme yesterday (which isn't on the website) and it blows this and HCE out of the water. It's a gorgeous, perfectly blended and sweet tobacco and cherry scent. The tobacco note is really similar to the one in Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille, and the cherry isn't syrupy or synthetic in the slightest. It's my favorite fragrance of his I've tried so far and the best of my recent haul. I'll be wearing and reviewing Addicted, Raw Cherry, Ozone and Supersonic in the following days.

This is one of his best creations imo. A perfect scent for the modern man. I agree that it's probably a safe blind buy. It's very easy to like but still a bit unique and very very addictive smelling. It's not gourmand, but the mandarin, tonka and rum combo adds a little juicy cocktail vibe while the woody and leather notes make it darker and sexy and ultra charismatic. This is just a masterpiece of a blend. I couldn't smell the individual notes before looking at them here, I just smelled a single addictive, sweet (but not gourmand) and sexy scent. Long lasting and well projecting as well. A date night scent that will for sure make your girl's eyes roll in the back of her head when she smells it on your neck. 10/10

With my humble opinion, since I own bottles of both, this and Hard Candy Elixir (Censored Elixir) doesnt smell anything alike. When I think of a vanilla citrus combo, I think of Nishane Ani or Electimuss Imperium. But this doesnt smell anything like those. This is a vanilla citrus thats a little spicy around the edges. Sometimes, throughout the day wearing this (because it most definitely lasts all day), I get these faint whiffs of notes that resemble Carolina Herrera Cobalt Blue Electrique. Not saying it smells like that, I just get a very familiar sillage with this. I really like this fragrance. It was to me, a safe blind buy.

My favourite Aaron Terence Hughes fragrance. It’s super narcotic and sexy — the scent fills every room with a fresh, sweet profile that has a slightly dark edge. It opens with citrus, mainly lemon for me, paired with lots of sexy vanilla. As it dries down, you start to get flashes of boozy elements. The leather is there, but not in the way you’d expect — it’s blended so well that it just adds a different kind of edge rather than dominating. There’s loads of musk to keep it going for ages. If you enjoy really sweet fragrances and want something that stands out from the generic crowd, then I’d 100% recommend Notorious.

I bought a 30ml bottle when it came out. The sprayer is absolutely terrible but the scent make up for it! Dark and sweet fruits. Very resinous and smooth. It would be a signature scent but it literally takes weeks to come off of my clothes after multiple washings! I’ve worn this to work, family get togethers, running errands, and date nights with my wife. It never lets me down and am complemented wherever I go. I hope he doesn’t discontinue this, it’s one of my all time favs and 100% flies under the fragrance radar! Cheers!

This one is similar to Sl*t and hard candy in the opening but I surprisingly like this one much more because of the dark dry down. To me this performs really good and be careful with the sprays because this stuff is strong! What I get from this is a sweet fruity vibe with a hint of rum and leather. I think this frag is versitile and can be worn anytime. This is my fourth fragrance from aarons line and so far they all have been pretty similar and hope to see him change it up.

This smells extremely good, I blind bought this thinking it would smell like hard candy. It does kinda have similarities, but the scent is completely different. Closest thing I can say it reminds me of is khamrah/Swy intensely, mixed with fruity notes. Edit: this projects for over 4 hours on skin, lasts forever on clothes. Best ath frag imo, easier to wear compared to HC. Scent: 9.5/10 Performance: 10/10

Absolutely love this. Wore this the other night and got a few compliments. Semi-dark Fruity sweetness and a slight “sharpness” to it. Unique profile. I may sound crazy but I get aspects of DHI (maybe the ambrette). There’s times I think I smell the rum note, but if anything it’s like a “rum on ice” smell of that makes sense. Can be a signature scent, but I think best suits evening wear for all seasons.

Wow, wow, WOW! i went absolutely crazy of this scent that when I first smelt it I had to purchase it immediately. Sweet but not too sweet, aromatic and a little bad boy ingredients and definitely leans towards that seductive bad boy scent. The best thing about this, its not a super popular scent. Get it while you can, you WILL smell special!

Dark, sweet, clean. I get nuances of orange, vanilla, leather, and a chocolate fruitiness that reminds me of a chocolate covered strawberry. Although I describe it as sweet, it is not a bubblegum fragrance. Aaron describes this as a "bad boy" fragrance. I do find it dark and attractive. Sweet, powerful, long lasting stuff.

This stuff is amazing. Has to be top 3 ATH frags. A bit dark but not too dark. Some fruity/citrus sweetness with the Tonka bean/vanilla mixed in. A bit warm from the rum but also a bit aromatic with a touch of leather in the base. Just a beautiful mass appealing fragrance!

Sublime fragrance, a rich fruity gourmand with depth that lasts all day, dont sleep on this, definitely blind buy worthy.

basically hard candy, but i still love it. if anything, this is just hard candy without the mint note to my nose.

Mey.... just like the other 5 ATH I have tried. There is something about these scents that put me at an 8. They just don't smell natural. I can't figure out what I don't like about them. The performance is fantastic. They all project well for the entirety of my work shift. I always get a ton of complements. I just can't love them though. I don't know why I keep purchasing them. I guess I am trying to find the one that will make me see the ATH light. I don't get much spice in the drydown on this one. It stayed fruity with a good dose of vanilla throughout the whole ride. I would have went higher if that rum, patchouli, and cedar would have kicked in. That sounds like heaven! This 10ml will last a few years. 8/10...

A really soft, mellow vanilla fragrance with a blast of citrus in the opening that blew me away! This isn't dark at all, it's creamy and really mass-appealing, I could imagine you could get away with using on warm spring days... Overall a really pleasant lemon cheesecake-like scent for me, projection is moderate and it lasts about 8 hours I'd say, although it's hard to keep track of it since it's a light scent especially in the drydown... This is a 7.5/10!

Interesting one this. It had a weird vibe upon first wearing where I was reminded of the scent of a tin of baked beans with basil & chocolate mixed in! Not anything appealing I thought but I think my nose was maybe just going off on one. A proper wearing was much more enjoyable & had a sweet but slightly dark aura. I would say its one of his better frags & more unique too. Potentially could buy a bottle, we shall see.

To my nose this smells almost discernible from the original Hard Candy. It’s nice, but very, very similar. **edit: my previous was from test strip, on skin it has similarities but it’s not as similar as previously thought. It’s a nice smell. Picture Hard Candy with less fruit and more vanilla.

Smells like the fancy soap in the bathroom of the first class airport lounge. So it has a holiday vibe, but an odd one. Definitely nice, but I wouldn’t see myself wearing it simply due to the hand wash/air freshener similarity.

Not a bad fragrance. If you do have S*ut or Hard Candy the it does make this redundant as when this dries down it smells very similar to those two but not as good either. This is beast mode and a compliment getter though.

This is screechy af, it may smell "sexy" on another person, especially an attractive one, but applying this on the skin and trying it was an unpleasent experience for me. It is very designer-esque and teenage, big appeal to this scent amongst my fellow sweet tooths. I smell a lot of tonka and booze, so sugary aswell. This is forsure a beastmode scent which lingers all day, not something for me. Get this if you love sweet fragrances which are not too complex, could see this at a party in Ibiza, big up the brittish.

Another ATH fragrance tried, another disappoinment. Like why all of these fragrances have the same vibe and base? Trying this after Daddy, and yeah the top accords are different and both smell nice, but the base is the exact same and this one just has a Orange accord instead of apple.... Its this brand like a one trick pony? Hard candy is different, i agree when you smell them in the air, but if you put your nose close to skin and smell both of them, theyre actually similar. Idk trying this brand out feels like falling for the hype, just try any of them and you will get the picture, no need to try all

I’m surprised nobody haven’t said it yet, this has gentle fluidity silver DNA, Mind Game Blockage with a bit of screechy from Erba pura.

Got the 10ml to test today and this stuff is strong!!!! Super thick oil concentration and 2 sprays on my hand i’m getting a orange creamsicle with maybe some other fruits in there and then the heliotrope tonka and vanilla are in the base i sense some ambergris too or maybe it’s the rum note im picking up. It is slightly boozy and punchy but im getting mainly a strong orange creamsicle with like a slight sunscreen vibe from a distance but like ur spraying it while eating a orange creamsicle 🍊

Notorious is sweet fruity with some rum and I would say it starts out fresh and dries down somthing much. More darker and sweet I do totally understand why arron refers to this as a dark and bad boy fragrence it has a seductive touch to it that I think most people will love if I had to say it reminds me of any other fragrence it sort of reminds me of layton by parfums de marly but I don't like layton at all its overly sweet gross bomb but Notorious is amazing I highly recommend

A fresh, sweet, citrus detergent take on his infamous musk base. Side notes: This one is relatively unique and just different enough to seek out a sample. However, there is nothing mind blowing here and isn't worth the price for a full bottle. IMO... The performance isn't great on me either... it eventually settles down to a vanilla skin scent.

@eaudemale I don’t understand as this couldn’t be further from how it actually smells. This is a very unique scent, all year round banger in my opinion. Definitely vanilla heavy but also fruity and fresh. Only encountered positive reactions

I've recently started buying ATH and have about 12 now and NOTORIOUS is delicious. I thought it was Hard Candy Elixir at first but the dry down is even more divine. Blind Buy worthy and I feel that every ATH scent is blind buy worthy.

Sweet, boozy long lasting banger Another masterpiece from ATH he really knows how to make a top fragrance.

This is a sexy fruity beast. Maybe sexier than Hard Candy and the Elixir
