Fior di Chinotto

I can’t believe I was about to sell my bottle. I really liked it when I bought my first bottle at scent xplore. Then I had some moments of loving it, and also hating it (didn’t work with the hot weather). So I put the bottle away and didn’t wear it for years. Now I busted it back out and it’s a cold night in NYC and my god this perfume is magical. Spicy and SPARKLING white floral, chinotto, jasmine, tuberose, orange blossom mix. Slightly sweetened by that honey. Slightly tart from the citrus and oak moss. Magical magical magical. I think this is for someone with mature and classy taste in fragrances. Pale yellow and light gray colors. Leans very feminine, very mature, great longevity, moderate to loud projection. Beautiful and unique fragrance!!

This opens up smelling very feminine and pretty. There are the white florals, honey, and the bright chinotto which really lifts it and gives it a bit of an effervescent type of feeling; there's also the amber grounding it. As this dries down it becomes deeper, more unisex and reminds me a lot of Elie Saab's Le Parfum (as others have commented)--a fragrance which I find very unisex. I really enjoy this one a lot, and it lasts all day on me (I tested the edp version).

Another one who received this in a ScentXplore bag. One of my favorite citrus blossom scents. There's a tension between greenness and sweetness that is well-balanced. It doesn't evolve much from first spray - and that's fine by me. I could see this going astringent on some people - especially if they don't wear jasmine or orange blossom well. For me, an avowed orange blossom / neroli / white floral lover, this falls firmly into the dumb reach category.

This is absolutely gorgeous. Reminds me of Elie Saab's Le Parfum with the orange flower, jasmine, and citrus, but the citrus in Fior di Chinotto sparkles more and the chinotto flower adds an ethereal quality. I also prefer the oakmoss in this over the patchouli in the Elie Saab. I have had multiple people ask me what I was wearing, out of the blue, because they liked it so much.

I was so pleasantly surprised with this one. It smells flowery and citrusy at the same time, and it smells really bright and sunny too. Super sunny, like in August in Italy. Very pleasant, sweet and tart, airy and joyful. If you need some sun in the winter this is perfect haha. Performance is really good. I would totally buy this if I weren't broke lol.

I really like this perfume, on me it has a sweet powdery smell to it, I think that the longer I wear it the sweeter and softer the smell gets and the amber comes out a little more (not too much), it doesn't really smell very citrusy on me, but that could just be because of my chemistry. Overall, I really like it

The top notes are lovely and well mixed. It’s a good mix of citrus and floral. The first spray smells like sun. The dry down is boring though, and smells like any sweet floral, it’s a honey and jasmine mixture. I like it, but not enough to buy a bottle.

I've been on the fence about getting a bottle of this for like 2 years, but I think I've finally decided that it's just a bit too astringent for me.

Got a sample from Ministry of Scent which is a reputable website. This basically smells like pungent powdery white florals and pineapple. If the florals were toned-down and creamier, and maybe a green note added for complexity, I would like it more. But they are too pungent and powdery for me and have that dated feel. After a few minutes though, the florals dissipate, and you're left with a powdery, peachy drydown. Feminine. Smell: 7 out of 10 Longevity: 7 out of 10 For reference, I'm female.

Testing this blind from the ScentXplore bag, not looking at the packaging or name, it opened up light and floral with an almost watery strawberry sweet note, and dried down with a more soft powdery and delicate and seemingly delicious "can I kiss you" air. Clearly the citrus and mix with other notes gives it that fruity and lightly sweet side without being too kuch. Enjoy it much but too feminine for me.

I thought this was the best of the three chinotto scents but none of them are my style. This one has a nice blend between the floral and the citrus profile but much like the reviewer below me, it turned very basic in about an hour. Also poor longevity generally on me.

Very sweet and white floral. Feminine. Good day long performance through 4-5pm. I can pull off a lot of more feminine fragrances, but not this one. Love the Chinotto Dark though!

Caveat: I am very particular about white flower fragrances and am generally not a huge fan. The opening is sweet lime candy that quickly dried down into generic, perfumey white flowers. Scrubbed it off after 10 minutes.

This is [my deciphering of] the note pyramid written on the sample that I received: Top: orange flowers, bitter orange, damask rose, fruity notes, tangerine Heart: jasmine sambac, patchouli, chinotto flowers, tuberose, honey Base: cedar woods, amber, precious woods, white musk This is definitely better worn on a summer day/warm weather, to highlight the white florals present in this perfume. Opens up with tangerine and other citrusy notes. Then the florals set in. The floral never goes away and is still present as it settles down to the base notes. I do think this perfume is blended quite well. Yes, it is slightly gourmand but by no means this is "sweet". Longevity is moderate. I have, at one point, thought about buying a FB of this but I realize musks aren't really my thing. I actually prefer this in winter, where the florals are not as prominent and it dries down to what, to me at least, an incense-y sort of smell. There's no incense in this, but it dries down to what I feel is more akin to a Japanese incense (maybe it's the patchouli). New to perfume, so pardon my terrible description!

Fior di Chinotto is a heady, dreamy melange of white flowers-Chinotto Blossom, Jasmine, and Tuberose. Like all of the line, it hints at gourmand- but for the the citruses, which keep it fresh and buoyant, and the mossy base, which gives it a green, earthy, sueded feel. The use of a "Honey" note instead a Vanilla allows the flowers to shine through, but never be obscured. The "density" of this fragrance is incredible. Especially in the parfum concentration, it is impossibly full and a little goes a long way. Both concentrations have excellent sillage and projection. Packaging is very Italian and modernistic. Disclaimer: I am a stockist for this brand (because I like their products so much).

Opens full of citrus, orange blossom, oranges and bitter mandarin. Sparkling and luminous with tuberose and Jasmin and a rose, it gives a tonic effect as a face cream. Strong and persistent, sour and bitter, at times sweet and astringent. As it evolves, chinotto flowers are distinguished. I'm not crazy about them. Bubbly, with a moisturizing creamy base. Young, feminine, more from spring days. Nothing new, already heard. Just a little too citrusy and bubbly.

Light, delicate, and clean fragrance. It has a slight L'Artisan Parfumeur vibe. I can't imagine anybody disliking it. On the other hand if you wanna stand out in a crowd you should go for Chinotto gourmand (a sweet bomb head turner). Fior di Chinotto is romantic, timeless, and delightful. The kind of scent I wear to bed when I'm in the mood for beautiful dreams.

I was lucky enough to win a sample set and this is the first one I'm trying. Wonderful spring-summer bouquet of flowers, honey, amber and moss, sillage strong and simply pleasant to my nose!
