Mojave

Initially lemon, black pepper, tobacco. Delightfully spicy. This lasts forever on me and changes into something very rich and warm and sweet. I do not at all understand people who say this is linear citrus(i think Abbott montecito is more so), nor do I understand people who say it doesn’t last, because I smell it until I shower and it stays on my clothes for days. This fragrance is really unique and special and it might be what your looking for if you want something rich and complex and sweet without being cloying. I love the contrast of the more masculine opening and more feminine dry down. On me it is a pretty heavy fragrance. On a hot summer day it’s overpowering and the more resinous notes mask the citrus. Any other time I love it.

One of my top 5 favorite fragrances. It’s so minimal yet very effective — reminds me of a smoked whiskey cocktail I once had at a rooftop bar in Seattle. The black peppercorns and ginger hit you first, then the bergamot and tobacco, not too much of one or the other, but perfectly balanced so that they aren’t battling for your attention and are instead existing in harmony. I don’t get too much of the saffron. It isn’t often that a fragrance has such natural and simple ingredients. It just never lasted very long on me, which is a bummer because it’s nearly perfect, in my opinion.

Genuinely obsessed with this fragrance. Fresh but not a cleaning spray dupe like so many other “fresh” fragrances. Spicy but not an assault on the nostrils. I find the notes blend really well into just a crisp dry air vibe. Really does make me nostalgic for hiking in the southwest. New favorite.

Favorite of the brand. There's a beautiful citrus note followed by some sweet tobacco. It's not what I would call "amazing" - but for the price, I'll definitely consider a full bottle. 6/10

Smell transports me to a Wisconsin forest in the summer time. I would definitely buy a full size of this.

upon initial purchase and wearing, I didn't love or find anything particularly singular about mojave...and then I moved to the desert. This one blooms beautifully in a hot, dry climate -- the open of citrus and ginger is refreshing and biting, and the black pepper really takes center stage during drydown. Now, sitting on my skin for a few hours, I'm getting a lovely, subtle skin musk. The black pepper on its own does lean a bit bitter for my taste, but layers beautifully with fig-forward fragrances like arquiste's grove by the sea (it particularly brings out the olive and herbaceous elements in that one). what a pleasant surprise!

With this, I felt like someone offered me a refreshing ginger lemonade, but then ran off with the glass before I could take a second sip. After that nice opening, it reminded me a bit of Kenzo Homme in that it's mildly lemony but also grassy and earthy. However, Mojave is less aquatic. It's also spicier and darker with pepper and tobacco. It also felt a tiny bit like either furniture polish or leather polish. It disappears quickly, so you'll need to reapply, but I think this would be good for gray, breezy days and camping/hiking/canoeing when it's not too hot.

I highly recommend this for date night. Despite the bergamot which I normally associate with day fragrances, the blend I felt it was more of an evening scent. I love ginger and can never find enough of it in fragrances so this is one of my favorites. It is not possible to overspray. In fact, I find it does not last as long as I would like. Though it's always a pleasure to reapply! I would say it lasts only 3-4 hours on my skin after which it is detectible, soft dry down, only to me.

A burst of lime on the opening that fades quickly. The ginger and black pepper take over the rest of the way (about 4 hours on my skin). Sillage is fairly soft. It's well made but the ginger note takes it off of my have to have list. Go to the Abbott web site and grab yourself some samples for dirt cheap. You may reach a different conclusion.

2nd vial from my Discovery Set. This one starts of as citrus. I didn't pick up on the tobacco leaves. It has a poor sileage. After 2 hours I sniff my skin and could barely smell it. It will be a pass on this one. I'm finding when I used perfumes that are all natural they don't last on my skin. I think that I'm going to have to try oils. I think oils might last longer. Tomorrow I'll be trying a new one from my discovery set.

Sharp citrus at first with a touch of ginger. Like a fancy cocktail. It does smell a bit like cleaning spray on my skin, and a hint of Fruit Loops cereal. It eventually mellowed, but never turned into anything I truly enjoyed.

It’s very spicy, a little green, and citrusy to me. I think it’s definitely more masculine. It smells kinda like bathroom cleaner, but that’s definitely the citrus. Not my favorite, but worth a try.

I agree with Ovaltine. The ginger note overshadows everything else. It's got a light leathery,tobacco vibe mixed with ginger. A hint of sweetness also but nothing like popular tobacco scents such as Pure Havane or 18.21. Also it's a bit light and would be best for Spring/Fall IMO. This would be a perfect office scent as it won't offend anyone or nice for anyone looking for a light tobacco spicy scent

Light, pretty tobacco but a bit too light for me. Opens fresh and bright with a sour citrus (bergamot) and a spicy mix of black pepper and ginger. Heavier on the black pepper with me, again with a sour tinge that black pepper can have. The tobacco here is a bit leathery (maybe that's the sourness giving me a leather vibe?) and herbal, with touches of hay and henna. Overall the effect is of a masculine woody musk at arm's length. It's pleasant, but after 1 hour I really just can't smell it anymore, even when I spray on like half the sample. I wish the tobacco note was just a hair stronger.

I like to call this a water color fresh tobacco scent. Nothing overpowering very easy to wear. I do get a fair amount of cardamom from this and a hint of the tangy aquatic note found in Hermes's Un Jardin Apres Le Mousson. I also am reminded of Ineke's Field Notes From Paris, another fresh citrus oriented light tobacco scent.

Smells great! Piss poor performance....worse than a $12 frag from Marshalls or Ross.
