Sensemilla

The notes on this page are wrong. Someone just repeated mechanically what Luca Turin wrote in one of his reviews when he had to smell it blindly (!) and make sense out of this fragrance. No lavender was used in this fragrance, and the result definitely doesn't smell of lavender of the kinds used in Bogue MEM. This review section is a great example of an auto-suggestion feedback loop that started with Luca's first review. The lavender-like qualities here come from hemp, as was said by Dominique. Obviously, notes are merely a function of ingredients used and highly subjective, but let me copy some official ingredients from Abdes' website to clarify the matter at least a bit: Neroli, Tuberose, Narcissus, Cannabis essential oil.

This is wild. I honestly do get a very vivid impression of sticking my face into a ziplock bag of some really sticky bud. It's an illusionary impression given by a kaleidoscopically textured and realistically herbal lavender. (A bit more vivid and sticky than MEM, which is somehow sourer to me but more layered; but there's a similar vaulted-to-the-sky herbalistic audacity to the topnotes.) This lavender is like, so hot and sunbeamed that it is *sweating* its oils and you've just grabbed fistfuls of the sticky bush and just *crushed* it between your palms, then sniffed your grimy fingernails. Really a mindblowingly vivid, textural experience that kicks me in the brainstem from the front. But: the ingredients are too all-natural, I wager. Like Tropic of Capricorn, its greatest point of pride is its undoing, because it does not last or project after twenty minutes. I just cannot get either perfumes to last. It is an almost literal crying shame because they are both so... evocative. A sample is worth it's weight in gold, just to know it. But a bottle would be hubris, imho. Genius. Heartbreaker. Beautiful bastard. Ugh.

Hemp, vegetal notes, geranium beautifully layered. Smelt like a freshly mowed lawn after 15 minutes on my skin. Disappeared after half an hour. Bought Sensemilla for a friend; she loved it. On her skin, the geranium note dominates, no hemp, no aromatic notes. A very interesting quality fragrance, indeed.

I have a tiny little vial sample of this, which I acquired base on LT's review. I find the top notes to be really interesting and pleasant. Yes, hempy, but also geranium and green peppery. Intriguing! I like it. Then it dries down more lavender/floral, which I also like, but that is very short lived, because then it disappears. I don't know if it's just me, or the perfume, or what, but it becomes a close skin scent immediately after the top notes, and then fades quickly. It might perform better if I had sprayed it from a proper bottle, instead of dabbing it from the tiny vial? It's possible. A nice experience. Given the opportunity, I'd try it again with a more robust application to see what happens. But maybe not when I'm going to work, just in case anyone picks up on that hemp note!

"the word "sensemilla" is the name for a super potent variety of marijuana."? Sensemilla simply means without seeds in spanish. So basically all commercially produced cannabis is sensimilla, which does not ensure high potency. Sorry to be so picky, but words actually have meanings. It seems that the creators of cannabis-infused scents are using it as a marketing tool these days to entice the uninitiated. As if to say "Look! |This contains weed, but it is legal". I have not tried it myself, so I cannot judge the fragrance. But for those who gave reviews, this scent seems to be impotent.
