Juzur Al Karibi

Fresh fruit in a bottle! Wow - I almost overlooked this oil! Luckily a free bottle of Juzur Al Karibi was added to my order from Al Faransis website, which I'm very grateful for. I mean, what if I never tried this tangy nectar? J.A.Karibi opens with coconut and for the first few seconds I dreaded the rest, thinking that this would be too sweet. I was wrong. The opening coconut note is fresh! A little sweet yes, but mainly creamy and nutty. Think more along the lines of a freshly opened one full of coconut water. This is followed by papaya, a smidge of yellow florals and strangely enough a boozy note. Nothing sweet or strong, it reminded me of a very pale ale with a few lime wedges tossed in. The ale note is gone within a minute, replaced by passion fruit and lots of it! This tangy scent blends wonderfully with the sweet papaya, creamy coconut and clean musk. The drydown is superb! The sharp passion fruit is still the most prominent note, tempered by musk, coconut, vanilla and a lingering papaya. The result is a comforting fruity blend with only a slight sweetness, perfect for summer! This is a tropical unisex scent. Longevity is good, about 10h of projection on me, but as a skin scent it lasts into the next day. Sillage is moderate, at arm length for 6h, close to the skin for 4h and it lingers on your skin long past that. It's suitable for both work and travel, just don't over apply this oil. I'll be wearing this a lot! Apparently I love the fruity perfumes despite a distaste for sweet scents. I've already fallen for another fruit/gourmand oil from Al Faransi - Abeer. Unlike that strawberry bomb, Juzur Al Karibi is perfect for warmer days! If you like fruit based scents I recommend trying them both, Abeer for winter and J.A.Karibi for summer.

This is probably the best passion fruit scent I've smelled. At least as far as a literal interpretation. It's such a great fruity splash that's the perfect balance between sweet and juicy and tart. The coconut is not dominant, but it's very present . . . If that makes sense. This is so fresh! There's an excellent chance I'll be buying a bottle!!!

Fresh tropical fruit with a splash of coconut. The mustiness is there and cotton flower and vanilla add a softness to this.
