Oud Assam

At first, this felt like it was not for me because I sniffed it from the bottle (silly me, I'm new to using perfume oils). However, after leaving it on my skin and letting it adjust to my natural scent, I loved it! It's strong enough for someone close to you to also smell it but will not fill the room it's more of a personal skin scent. But a beautiful one it is. To me, it smells very much like a sweet oudh, no barny or earthy smell at all. It has a luxurious creamy wet wood scent with some warm saffron-like spice that comes out after application. This is one of my favourites from AKAF. I recently visited the store and bought a handful of oils including the Ramadan 2019 limited editions. I'm looking forward to trying them out and reviewing them soon.

As mentioned below this is a non-skanky, very soft oud. To me it smells very woody, a bit spicy with hints of minty patchouli, although the latter is not mentioned. I believe it is very easy for people new to oud to use this as its non-offensive, and it makes an excellent entry to the world of oud. Highly recommended and very affordable. Update. For some reason the drydown after few hours reminds me of Terre d'Hermes with that sweet earthy accord.

A spicy oud in the opening which shortly turns over to a warm sandalwood as it dries. 8/10 great fragrance with great ingredients but would’ve loved the oud in the opening to last a bit longer than 20-30 minutes before fading

This is a great intro to attars and oud. It is very light, non skanky and easy to pull off. The description of "wet wood" is a good one. I think this would be a good one for layering with other scents as well.

Bit of a misleading name, as Assam Oud is generally very "barny" but yes this is very wearable and mild. Can't fault it for that though, very easy to pull off as noted below.

Notes: Indian Spices, Mint, Sandalwood, Agarwood Oil from Assam and Wet Wood. This is blended very well, starts of with spices and mint but somehow this reminds me of Jubilation by Amouage, it's not harsh or animalic at all. Lovely and Gorgeous. In the dry-down Sandalwood is more prominent to my nose, i also get hints of Patchouli which gives it that sweet, musky and earthy scent. Overall a very lovely scent, with great sillage and amazing performance.

I get a damp woody earthiness. Its very similar to these oud incense sticks i have called Jinkoh Seiun by Nippon Kodo. That alone is a testament to this fragrances beauty.
