Al Moulouk Blend

I tried it in Paris (they have one bottle left) unfortunately I had too much perfumes in my hands to smell it properly, from the stick all I could smell was oud and rose but the oud is overtaking everthing, it costs 2500€ (retail price) or something like that and contains 12ml, all I can say is when it dries it has one of the most wonderful kalakassi oud smells, I have smelled their 80 year old kalakassi before, but I can't say if it contains this one or a more aged oud, I personally have Kyara oud (50 year old oud) and the oud in moulouk blend is definitely better.

I was told by ASQ that the oud used in this "special" blend in the spiked bottle is of inferior quality to King's Blend (Al Molouk) from The One Collection and that is why you see the big price difference. At ASQ, quality and quantity of oud generally determines prices. There is no free ride.

impossible that he contein the dahn oud kalakasi with a price of 450 dolar!! you were due to be confused with khalt al moolook special .. that it reaches 2,000 euros per tola.

Okay, so first here is some misconception happening. Al Moulouk is same as Kings Blend as Moulouk is King in arabic. There is another page for Kings blend for exactly same perfume, so basically this review is going to be review for both of these pages. Let me start with ingredients from official catalog: TOP: 1st grade taif rose, aged oud Middle: Aged oud, geranium, woody notes, taif rose base: patchouli, amber, musk, vetiver, woody notes Usually you can't smell oud alone, but in this perfume you can because of the concentration of the ingredient is so big. The 2nd note is obviously rose, but I couldn't say which one it is if I didn't know officially. Anyway, what matters most as usual is final composition and it is indeed stunning. I've got dozens of oils but this one is one my favourites and imho one of the best from the house, because over the time when you learn to appreciate you will know that blend was polished to perfection just like jeweler polishes that very special ring to the state where he knows that it is perfect and ready for sale. The blend starts with super strong smell of oud with some assistance from rose and it stays like that for 2 - 3 hours afterwards, the blend balances between 2 and is no longer so sharp and can be presented to another nose. The blend keeps changing until last breath with various shapes and forms, I recognise these: raspberry, cherry and sweet cherry, but I cannot say that one note is above another, no. The final composition is super long lasting, changing and actually you cannot predict how it will smell next time, as it will be affected by mood and weather as usual. For me it works when I'm calm and got no big business for a day and when it is dry, but after having this for almost 3 years I'm still exploring and enjoying it. Blends like these from ASAQ confirm that they are one of the truly best in the world currently. Kings blend or Al Moulouk is true masterpiece and should be worth much more.

ooooh, i been expecting more =) yes , it is worth trying but is it worth buying ? i will leave this question to those who did tried it =) well basically this is classic, oud, rose , amber bla bla bla.. the only special thing about this blend is ... quality of ingredients used. BASE NOTE: oud kalakasi , which i would love to talk more about . this is the TOP oud by ASAQ. Hindi origin. More likely it is a blend of 2 or more Hindi Ouds due to the words like - unique mixture/ fusion - in the description. . Kalakasi comes in a 3 different types: 80, 120 and 150 years old. Batches may vary, i myself tried 3 different batches of 80 years old one, and only 1 batch of 120 years old one. Each batch needs to be disscussed/described separately with a gentle care =) I believe that Moulook aka Kings Blend that i tried contained 80 years old Kalakasi oud, with smooth, creamy, resinous, wet leathery aroma. MIDDLE NOTE: Highest grade of Amber ( not ambergris) by ASAQ. I tried 6 or 7 different grades, Among them white abmer and blue ambergris extract. The one used in that blend is a highest grade amber shamama. Again batches may vary. TOP NOTE: The most amazing taif rose that you can imagine. I did tried it on its own and it was laterally one of the best aromas that my nose experienced in terms of roses. In the blend the rose is not screaming and its not as good as when you smell it on its own but surely it adds missing puzzles to the top of the blend.

i tried it in one of their shops. just checked, it cost $933.50, ( not sure 3 or 6ml , i tnink 3 =) may be it was on sale , 40% off, but all good things comes to an end=) probably it contains 30% or less of oud , so its quite reasonable. never heard of moolook special , how much is it? where you can get it?

How about if these high end perfumers donate some of the money they make overpricing, surely they could make some destitute people happy.

I agree with the reviewer below. I have a sample of Kings blend and its very good. The price difference between the two is too big.
