Deer Musk

As funny as Celphie's review is, it does a good job in getting the scent profile across. This is meant to be layered, but on its own and with molecule 01 it is quite sexy. It smells like the skin of an animal after it has run 1000 miles and is tired and sweaty. The very few first moments remind me of white pepper. The projection is insane, but you'll go nose blind. Go easy on the applicator. Less is more with this one. Well worth the price I paid (~60 CAD for 1/4 Tola during the sale in Dubai Mall). This brand also splits your purchases. Meaning a full tola will share the same economics as a 1/4 tola.

This is my first animal-derived perfume and I've never smelt anything like it before. Celphie did a good job describing the scent, I found when I applied a tiny amount of it layered with a powdery perfume I smelt almost exactly like a freshly bathed cat. The sillage is insane

Fans of hardcore musks and, more generally, of animalic musks, take note. ASAQ interpretation of the infamous Deer Musk is aimed to represent the main star in its own complexity and multifaceted nature. The fragrance comes in a thick, dark brown, (sort of) sticky oil you have to rub on your skin. It starts off with an extremely animalic blast that, admittedly, can result quite challenging to many. Hold on a bunch of minutes and let it reveal its mesmerizing nature. After the brutal, almost fecal opening, ASAQ's Deer Musk unveils an extremely complex blend of ambery notes, warm musk and subtle floral nuances. It feels velvety and smooth, soothing and luxurious yet dangerously animalic and carnal. If you dig *westernized* musks a-la Muscs Koublai Kahn and Musk Tonkin or, more generally, animalic fragrances, you ought to yourself to give this bomb a chance because there's nothing like it. Originally conceived as a base, it does great both layered with other fragrances / oils and as a standalone. Terrific. Rating: 8/10

i have read the review of how potent the deer musk is, so when i purchased and give it a test on my skin...it is not comparatively... Not too sure of the batch that was given to me is what batch, but it is called black deer musk..i have always like to test black deer musk of all its variation, my palpitating heart with excitement to received a mighty punch to the nose is not there when i smell it, it is palatable to the nose maybe i am used to other black or dark musk or maybe it is my anticipation or maybe i am anosmia to the smell of black or dark musk, not too sure . it start with a mellow vanilla absolute or tonka bean absolute sweet smell, then it turn after a few hours, into powdery smell of the old talcum used by my elders and used when i was a child, musky powdery like chanel no 5..never in the face of all the dark or black musk i tried, asaq is the easiest to be used an like able..

I generally don't like to do this, but if I had to describe this fragrance in an easy to understand, colloquial way, it smells like the hot, warm, bad breath of someone who just woke up who also happens to have a LOT of tonsil stones. Please please thought, don't judge it by this opening, bear in mind that most animal-derived perfumes smell awful in their purest and most concentrated form (civet, ambergris, and musk). BUT, when worn as a base in an infinitesimal amount, layered with something else or worn alone...Haba Haba Haba it gives it the sexiest, raunchiest rumble. Warm, woody, cozy and because of its animalic nature, something like hot skin. THIS is what musk smells like.

I had to try it for myself. This must have a heavy dose of skatole in it because the opening does smell like feces, and for quite a while afterwards. I would agree this would be for layering. I find it pretty much a skin scent with no projection, but then again I am cautious about putting too much on. I love civet a lot but this is as I said more skatole than civet. Mostly transitions into an ambergris accord. I did expect more sweetness and deer muskiness overall, but unfortunately it's pretty much a straight transition from poop to ambergris accord on me :-( Agree with pretty much every other review below, apart from projection and sillage.

Attention! This is not a perfume! This is for professional use. You put a tiny drop.. and I mean TINY drop into skin and spray your perfume on top of the drop directly then rub together. The aim is to make your perfume last longer.. consider it a base note. Believe me. You don't want to be smelling like that! 🥴

It is a dark, animalic/human perfume with salty and musky smell. Later moss appears to accompany musk. Very nice, but it doesn't project at all. The longevity could also be better. Maybe they have changed this recently, since everyone below claim that it has more sillage and longevity.

Ghastly - all deer musk - black musk is just plain nasty - fusty - antiseptic - urine !! Pungeant - acrid - nauseatingly bad . But yeah sillage is galloping !! Oh dear .......
