Golden Neroli

This fragrance came highly recommended by a fragrance pal on IG and she wasn’t wrong, it’s a lovely smelling thing and pretty unique from my perspective. The best thing about it is that there’s barely any neroli to be found in this and golden hardly represents the aroma for me is more of a pastel pink hue. This is largely down to a fruity top notes which almost turn slightly figgy and a creamy sweetness of vanilla and sandalwood. It has a childlike, confectionary aura but never cheap, this thing is classy as hell and never overly sweet. As I said it’s a revelation to me as I’d never heard of the brand and was subverted somewhat by the neroli in the name. I need to wear it again to make my mind up about performance but this was a standout and memorable experience, Golden Neroli is a hit with me.

A natural perfume of this quality blended so well...I must be in heaven. Kind of fresh, but creamy, bright but cozy, citrussy but floral. The Ylang Ylang in here is real and blends so well with the tea and Neroli. It is truly beautiful. Absolute love. Longevity is really bad, but thats expected with a 100% natural perfume.

This is the most optimistic perfume ever. More of a therapy after putting it on, because it wears off really quickly. Otherwise perfect.

Such a happy scent! I can really smell the broom in this, which is great as I love broom and it's an uncommon note. At first spray I get a smell almost like loquats, green and fruity, and then it calms down to jasmine, broom and vanilla for me. It's gorgeous, playful and optimistic. The brand has acknowledged that this is their most fleeting scent, and indeed it is gone from my skin within the hour, so I can't quite justify the expense as I like a scent to last at least a few hours, but it might suit someone who has a sensitive nose and would prefer a shorter-lasting, natural scent. Edit: Some days that I wear my sample, I can still smell it by mid-day. Longevity seems to depend on the weather, my skin, and who knows what else. Definitely considering a full bottle at some point in the future.

Golden Neroli is both natural and citrus-forward. The unavoidable tradeoff is weak projection and longevity, so if those are important qualities in a fragrance, look elsewhere. The limitations of its composition aside, this is a really pretty citrus-floral, neroli just barely featuring as the star of the show. It opens with some bright citrus and tea notes, and the real backbone to my nose is the lovely combination of ylang ylang and jasmine. I don't always understand the color names Abel uses, but this does have the quality of flowers and green blooming under a honeyed sky. It's easy and chic, like a more verdant and alive Jo Malone or Tocca fragrance. And then it's gone. C'est la vie.

An easy to wear, pretty floral scent, with creamy, smooth vanilla and sandalwood backing up. I also pick up a light suede note, which seems odd but it also works. I can’t imagine this being a problem for anyone. In fact I woke up with a mild hangover from watching the U.S. Presidential debates (which drove me to drink more wine than usual), and I decided to wear an all natural scent as not to exasperate my situation. If Golden Neroli has a fault, it is with performance. Behaves more like a cologne, but I still like it despite its disappearing act within 90 minutes.

Like slicing an orange in a very clean kitchen, or taking a shower after breakfast. This is the smell of a Type A morning person's perfect Sunday, when all the chores are done and they're finally ready to relax. I've never been much for soapy perfumes, so this isn't really my thing, but it's undeniably pleasant. As many others have said, it's sadly very short-lived.

Likeable scent. Open very citrusy and sharp and quickly mellow down to a soft & pretty floral scent. However the lack of uniqueness and very weak performance does not justify the recent price rise (almost 3$ per ml for a 4 h mostly skin scent). Pass

this scent is very lovely, sunny with a dash of bitters, bright and extraordinarily short lived.

Lovely smell, best intentions, pitiful performer. Hard to expect any different, as Abel is the house of luxe-eco-ethical all-natural scents that don't last (in my experience), so demanding that their take on the notoriously shortlived charm of neroli would be a robust, well-built scent was always too much to ask. Yes, this really does smell gorgeous - fresh, clean, organic, not soapy but just delightful - for ten or maybe fifteen minutes. It's all so minimal and muted that I just think 'yeah, fresh neroli, love that smell', but the tea and jasmine are just freshening it rather than making big interesting statements; the vanilla and sandalwood warm it somewhat but don't eke it out any longer. A fragile - VERY fragile - air of calm might linger for another half hour. That's it. And at such cost! Yikes! Whole experience feels like meeting up with a very wealthy 'crunchy all-natural parenting' type for them to lecture you about the state of the planet and why can't everyone be sustainable, before they saunter off to their next private-jet flight to their summer property, sticking you with the bill for the vegan platter which they only picked at (and didn't share with you). Bah humbug!

I fell in love with this perfume when I first smelled it at a curated perfume shop in Ginza, Tokyo, a couple of years ago. I recall it smelling so beautiful, with lots of citrus notes. I loved that it was made of only natural ingredients, but the downside to that is it only has a shelf life of 24 months. So when I obtained my bottle from a third-party seller, and wasn't immediately enchanted with the smell, I figured it may have been sitting past its prime. It's difficult to describe the scent my bottle has.. it's not rancid or sour, more just like a shadow of what it once may have been. I may have to revisit this one with a fresh sample from the company.

I bought several Abel perfumes when I first got into collecting after sampling the brand. I do not get the complaining about how "fleeting" the fragrances in this brand are including this one. I'm wearing this today and it lasts a long time for me. Around 6 hours after first application, w/ the top and heart notes lasting that length of time. I just reapply because I enjoy more fragrance. It is all personal preference. Wearing fragrances on dead material helps w/ longevity. I wear most of my perfumes on my clothes and in my hair. I am surrounded by fragrance most of the day when I do that. This is my favorite neroli forward fragrance I own. Smooth, round and full. Nothing overly soapy or sharp like neroli can sometimes be. This is a well-crafted perfume. The whole line is beautiful. If you like neroli but want something that doesn't smell like soap or shaving cream like many neroli forward fragrances do Golden Neroli is something, you should try.

I love the ylang in this. Along with tea and vanilla, it gives it a slightly bubblegummy floral feel the way that lavender sometimes does to roses (and orange blossom does to most everything). This sweetness contrasts with a mild citric sharpness and both sides are bridged together with the familiar scent of neroli, which hangs out mostly in the background. I assume “golden” refers to the solar note associations with ylang but, for me, this would need myrrh or something toasty to conjure “golden”. It’s very nice but the performance is lacking. I will have to try loading a ton on before I go to work.

I love this, but it is incredibly fleeting, like going in for a quick peck on the cheek instead of a full kiss. Because of that I would not purchase it. Wonderfully fresh opening with neroli and tart and bitter citrus, but quickly, and I do mean quickly, dries down to sandalwood and vanilla with some faint neroli on top. I sprayed this about 10 minutes ago on my wrist and can barely smell it now. I don't get ylang at all here. I love the concept of this natural fragrance and totally support their mission and story, but the performance is sadly poor.

I do sense vetiver here, quite raw, and i don't sense neroli as much as grapefruit. Sandalwood is there, so as the petitgrain, but the tea is mostly dominant with grapefruit. The ylang, the jasmine are stronger than the hints of vanilla. It's quite twisty and kind of cute, i believe it's because of the combination of jasmines, ylang, and tea. Kind of amusing.

I tried yesterday but it’s totally disappointing me . If u like fresh scent we have loads of good options . Totally waste of money at this price point.it’s quality doesn’t justify the price tag.if the price 20£ it will be ok.
