1869 Eau de Cologne

softer version of Dior Fahrenheit. however, 30min-1h after spraying, you get the smell of Bvlgari MIB/Spicebomb. It's moving back and forth between Fahrenheit and MIB/Spicebomb.

An elegant, gentlemanly fragrance with one of the better leather accords out there. 1869 has a green violet leaf accompanying some spicy geranium in the opening. As the scent develops, the violet gets stronger and the leather begins to make itself known. The violet leaf note here does not remind me of original Fahrenheit, but rather the more tame Fahrenheit Aqua flanker or, even better, Fahrenheit Le Parfum with its smooth, mellowed violet note. The leather here is natural smelling and accented by some buttery iris. As has been mentioned in other reviews, as the scent progresses, the salty ambergris intermixes with the leather adding a warm richness to the dry down. Any animalic notes are banished from the composition by a rich vanilla that asserts itself later in the dry down. The projection and longevity here are both moderate. The bottle and atomizer are nice, if nothing particularly special. 1869 is probably best suited for the shoulder seasons, but there is nothing about this scent that would preclude summer or winter use. Bottom line: barbershop in the best way; 1869 is a dignified masculine leaning scent that is very pleasant to wear and a nice alternative to the rather harsher original Fahrenheit or its (often) pricy to acquire flankers. Highly recommended for mature folks who like traditional fragrances and appreciate natural, quality ingredients.

Acca Kappa 1869 The Quality Of Tradition - and it's that classical quality you can smell here. This doesn't smell synthetic or mass produced, it smells of quiet confidence. The initial opening is nothing to write home about, slightly spicy geranium, very old school barbershop. As this comes down and starts to warm the leather comes through. The leather in my opinion is the main accord, it's what sets this apart from so many other traditional colognes. It's softened by the violet and iris but it's very distinctive. Over time this leather becomes softer, saltier even, and it settles down into this wonderful classy, not flashy, gentleman's scent. A very high like for me. Longevity and sillage are both moderate.

I tend to agree with all the comparisons to Fahrenheit. It manages to be a bit lighter and fresher and maybe a bit spicier, "greener" than Fahrenheit. The tradeoff is that it's not very long lasting. I already have Fahrenheit but don't tend to wear it, so I would have no particular reason to own this, but in a choice between the two I think I prefer the Acca Kappa.

Yes it is a different version of the original Fahrenheit , lighter , less longevity and less projection , i certainly enjoy it but as a deja-vu perfume .
