Fior d'Aqua

I'm surprised the only 3 votes before me were "dislike." I find this perfume to be very likeable. Maybe it won't be a bestseller, like White Moss, Giardino Segreto or Black Pepper & Sandalwood, because the composition doesn't stand out as something pinned to be a commercial success. But here, there is everything you could wish for in a niche scent. Quality, uniqueness, complexity, artistry and even wearability. Maybe projection is the only thing lacking... but it has better performance than some of our most beloved, well known niche houses - Jo Malone and L'Artisan Perfumeur for example. In fact, the whole Acca Kappa range is stunning, and deserves a much higher profile. These are not products created by money-grabbing wankers. They're about making something of quality, a thing of beauty, while also crowd-pleasing. This particular crowd being perfume collectors and wealthy, style-conscious adults - let us make that clear. Price point is only slightly higher than the designer market. Now the scent... First impressions are of the colour light blue and something ozonic. I suddenly realise that it reminds me of the sea - a saltiness, seaweed perhaps and water. Its top notes are sharp, but not off-putting. Grapefruit, petigrain and ozonic notes are all there. There's a floral heart of light flowers - lily of the valley, orange blossom and jasmine. The base is smooth and warm. My sample card lists these additional notes: amber, patchouli, musk, datura (flower), sandalwood and benzoin. Not sure what I can pick out - it is blended so finely. Waiting a couple of hours, those sharp top notes are still there in full force. It never stops being an aqua scent. But yes, the heart blooms and the base expands, as one would expect. I haven't made it to the end of this scent's life, but I can tell it's not going to be one of those short ones, where "poof, and it's gone". Having said that, a little more projection would have been nice. If you have a tired nose, I'd say it's a skin scent. If you're a little more sensitive, then I'd say it projects to arm's length. This is subjective of course. My parting comments are, that I wish I'd found this before I bought Cool Water. Goodnight!

A shame that not all the notes are included here since it gives a very misleading impression of the fragrance. What I smell immediately is the Datura, Red Seaweed and probably petitgrain (which I'm admittedly not very familiar with) but the description seems like this fragrance. This is only mildly citric scent to me, it is a soft and offbeat white floral foremost, VERY Datura dominant, those who love the smell of that flower will love this.

Two words. headache and disgust .

I don't know if there is an older version with the above listed notes, but now this is the available version in 2018. From the official site the notes listed are: HEAD: Bitter orange - Grapefruit - Rose - Ozonic notes HEART: Orange blossom - Lily of the valley - Jasmine - Amber BASE: Patchouli - Moss - Red seaweed (algae) - Datura - Sandalwood - Benzoin

How is this unisex? White floral all the way. If you're an older guy, like myself, then this is an immediate wash off.
