Wisteria

I love Acca Kappa Glicine! It is so beautiful and natural. I feel like the Lolita Lempicka purple fairy marketing actually applies better to Glicine. So dainty and refreshing. It's not exactly 100% wisteria, but it is a good approximation of the real flower. It's missing a little bit of the waxy almost jasmine-like fleshiness of the actual flower and has the inclusion of a freesia like artificial freshness. The late drydown goes a bit soapy, which I don't love, though it is very pleasant and not like a cheap hotel soap. However despite these imperfections, I find Glicine satisfying enough at replicating wisteria and I enjoy it very much. It has fair spillage and shorter longevity (about 4 hours) but it does hit the spot when I'm craving wisteria. Sometimes I layer it over base heavy patchouli or amber fragrances that give it a pleasant contrast.

This is a gem. If you looking for a non-sweet smell but elegant and expensive. This is it. I tried the vial ( not sample ) just a little drop. The sillage is crazy, the longevity is monster. This is realistic wisteria with soft opening of melon. The vanilla and musk is there but you can tell the queen is the flowers. Magnolia and Lily somehow is supporting the wisteria to shine. This is so beautiful, you should try.

This smells exactly like the wisteria in my garden! Fairly linear, gets a bit sweeter in the drydown, but the wisteria note remains. Lovely!

Having had the privilege of spending springtime for the first 20 years of my life in the presence of an incredible, densely flowered, lushly foliaged specimen of wisteria, 60+ years old at the time and covering two dozen square metres of pergola, I've a profound & nostalgic attachment to the sweet & heady scent of this enchanting vine, blooming on a balmy late spring night. Granted it is nigh impossible to capture such an intoxicating fragrance in a bottle, I am well impressed with this effort. And though I would not wear the cologne, I do find it lovely on others whom it suits and I enjoy the soap of the same from Acca Kappa for myself as an escape to another time... truly a fragrance full of memories... à la recherche du temps perdu... an eau for relaxation & respite, tea time, evening strolls, and tenderness. Charming. ★★★☆☆

I was really looking forward to smelling Wisteria but unfortunately, I am not smelling it here. What I do smell is a very strong Colone note and a light, watery vanilla. I am not smelling any flowers, wisteria or otherwise. I've tried this numerous times hoping that the flowers would reveal themselves but to no avail. I get nothing but the two notes I mentioned and that is it. That's disappointing, especially after reading all the reviews, and loving two other fragrances from this house - Tilia Cordata and Calycanthus - both beautiful floral fragrances. I was hoping that this would be yet another one to love. Maybe it is something with me that I cannot smell the flowers here but after numerous times trying this decant, I am giving up. Strange that I have no problem smelling the beautiful wisteria in Dame's Wisteria or the vintage Alyssa Ahley's French Garden Flowers Wisteria though. I'll just stick with them.
