Amor - Romantic Potion

Well, guess I was wrong below. Very wrong. I’m granola-wrong. All confident at the start, fruity in the middle, and ending with a mouthful of popcorn I didn’t see coming. The opening is like tearing into a brand-new bag of artisanal granola you bought because the label said “small batch” and you’re feeling fancy. First whiff consists of bright, juicy peach chunks like those suspiciously perfect dried fruits that definitely didn’t come from a health store. Raspberry bits peek through, tart and sweet, as if they’re trying to convince you this is a nutritious choice. Then there’s this odd note, this charming note, this sweet corn note, like someone got carried away at the farmer’s market and just tossed this note it in for texture. It’s crunchy, colorful, and a little chaotic, but you keep going back for handful after handful because it’s delicious in the most impractical, snack-for-dinner kind of way.

This stuff is a hoot! Probably not great for job interviews, court dates, or serious client meetings unless the client is a cinephile. The buttery popcorn top note is reminiscent of a circus or old world theatre. Because nothing says “I’m the whole cinematic experience” like smelling exactly like the concession stand. Perhaps it's wearable during a night at home because self-love sometimes smells like Orville Redenbacher made a deal with a Paris perfumer. Perhaps blend in with the kettle corn and funnel cakes. Confuse children. Seduce carnies. Ascend. Not necessarily worth paying $265 for 50 ml. Postscript - I found a suitable event where this fragrance was appropriate! America's 4th of July! I received many inquiries because I bathed in my decanter the morning of the 4th. May as well be memorable since it may be one of our last independence celebrations as the United States.

It smells a little synthetic, but in a good way, almost like a hint of Chapstick on my skin that develops into sweet, artificial raspberry/fruity popcorn. The corn note isn’t overpowering, but it’s definitely there. It’s not a blind buy safe fragrance, but if the notes catch your interest, I highly recommend giving it a try. It won’t be for everyone, and some might find it a bit childish or off-putting, but if it works with your skin, you’re going to love it.

Are you serious? 🧐 €250 for a 50 ml horrifying bottle? Come on. Who do you think you are?
