Perseide - Elixir of Stars Dust

Don't get scared by the ratings, this is absolutely beautiful. I read an interview with Adi Ale Van who said Perseide is a white floral fragrance which gets more leathery with time. I have the opposite experience with wearing it though, I get a very strong, smokey, almost BBQ-y leather note right off the bat, which softens up, calms down after half an hour or so. That's when the white flowers, mostly tuberose and orange blossom really shine. (Side note, the candied quality of the orange blossom here reminds me a bit of that in Sintra, you have to love sweet orange blossom to like this). The leather note stays till the end, and in the drydown it's accompanied by some animalic musk. Breathtaking modern vintage, true love. EDIT 2024/03/20: above review was based on a decant I used up in a month or so. My new full bottle arrived and now I do get what Adi was describing. The reverse of my decant. A slightly green orange blossom opening, then tuberose then leather. I am sure with maturation I start to feel the leather at the top again. It's still one of my favorite perfumes but I miss the density of my sample right now.

Overall, a really nice scent. The beginning as MrHEFF said it smells as if you are in a garden surrounded by white florals all around you. As the scent continues to dry down, the oud comes out more and more. It's a little animalic/funky, but it's nothing too challenging. If it's your first time smelling an oud like this, it might turn you away, but it's downright sexy. Gives the scent a nice boost. This would be in the lower end of purchase list for adi, but if I had the money lying around I would consider it honestly.

This is genuinely one of the most repulsive fragrances I have ever had the DISPLEASURE of sampling. I almost threw up after putting this on skin. Every time I moved my arm I got a whiff of this disgusting creation. This is one of the only samples I genuinely regret trying.

ngl had to put this away for like 8months came back to it it’s not as bad as i remembered which was really pissy smelling however tried it today and it’s a pretty leathery and white florals that lean indolic
