Agua de Sandalo

This is the most comforting and congenial Sandalwood I have ever experienced. The notes are soft and subdued with hints of sweetness, hushed woods and a beautiful layer of refined sandalwood; like perfect icing on a delicious cake. This sandalwood is ideal for work, dates or any occasion. It is calming and the sandalwood beautifully insinuates itself to any mood. Sandalwood oils are too harsh for me. Elizabeth Arden’s Sandalwood for Men is an attractive scent, but it is not mitigated by any soft accords. Adolfo Domínguez’ Agua de Sándalo is a Zen experience, at heart.

This is a very nice cologne that I looked forward to for a long time (took FOREVER to ship from Spain). I have to admit being a bit disappointed at first. I just couldn't smell anything. I think it's the "water notes" causing something like olafactory overload. Really, after those notes wear off I smell a very nice spicy woody, wet soft wood smell. The overall impression is kind of what I would expect if they put out a baby powder for adult men, a spicy baby powder. Good, clean smell, but not much projection. This is a cologne that would sell great if it projected better, I think. It takes about seven sprays to get a trail going, but then again the sprayer, competent as it is, doesn't put out that much. Hundreds of sprays later and my 2 oz bottle is still 75% full. Overall, a thumbs up, but only one. It's good but not a legend.

This one has a personality. It stand out elegantly from the sweet-aquatic-mass produced cologne nowadays. It's much more natural and simple but not linear at all. Rosewood, sandalwood and peppery notes are the dominant and bring up an airy and light aroma which is very enjoyable.

I can't smell it. Maybe it's me but I would caution buying it unless you have a sensitive sniffer. After the alcohol is a aquatic element that reminds me of Halston Unbound. which I guess is trying to be like Acqua Di Gio. I wait for the woods and natural stuff but it flys by lightly and is gone in minutes.

This EDT has a very pleasant aroma, initial citrus woody notes, with a body of wet wood, fresh and comfortable, with a thin base notes of sandalwood (a sandal that is not very powerful but is percibilble). Perfect for everyday use, did not really impress is anything but nevertheless gives a touch of neatness that is very good. For all ages. Perfect for daytime use.
