Amber Musk d'Or

The little 4ml gold bottles of this scent really pull me in, and they're the only reason I marked the price of this fragrance "reasonable." Full retail is not reasonable, but I'm sure those bigger bottles really pull you in even more. Fortunately for me anyway, the scent is worthy. Rich and golden and not at all sweet, so don't worry about that coconut top note or the praline base note being sticky and cloying. Amber Musk D'Or is a golden rose scent with some oud and incense in equal measure, but none of it exaggerated or intense. Not exactly a safe scent, but you won't worry anyone with it either. Lasts around 4 hours on my skin. But this is with the 4ml bottle, which you dab on. I'm wondering if the whole effect may be more intense if it's a spray. I haven't been inside a department store since March, so I can't tell you. But this is a good scent.

Oh this was a blind buy and it’s insanely successful. It’s warm but still fresh, sweet but not cloying. Really special, this is perfect for every season or occasion. I often find musk dusty and sorta sweaty but this one is really gorgeous, like how an attractive and clean man’s skin smells after a shower or something. I’m smitten lol.

I actually smell some saffron! I'll eventually try it on the skin and digest some more lol

I like regular amber musk better. This one is sharper, has a bit of boozy rose. No softness or coziness like the original. It’s not bad; just not my preference.

Everything about the notes would have you believe that it has the potential to be a heavy fragrance. It's the antithesis of that. The lily of the valley note is clearly missing therefore you don't have to worry about it's green facets ruining the fun. You can go ahead and scratch magnolia from the guest list too. Thank God the oud here is low quality. If it were the REAL oud, this creation would have gone to Hades. At times it's hard to tell if this fragrance is milky or nutty or ambery or coconutty. One thing for sure is that it's musky. It's actually very ethereal and has the same swoon ability of Baccarat 540. All the notes here play the role of teasers but individually have the ability to make you petition for more. This is a wardrobe enhancement and proof of why fragrances should be your number 1 accessory.
