Mediterranean Honeysuckle

WHIPPED ORANGE & Honeysuckle combine to evoke an almost gourmand Fuzzy Orange (whipped orange drink of a frothy orange smoothie with pulp and not too sweet). Opens with a burst of softly sparkling mandarin, with nods to Happy Clinique, that deepens into a honeysuckle & white floral heart with a whipped quality and nods to Honey Marc Jacobs, resting on a vanilla woods base with nods to Island Hawaii Michael Kors. I'm enjoying the versatility here, as there's both an everyday vibe and a vacation vibe; fun but sophisticated, with an orange that would transition well into fall. I was pleasantly surprised with the performance, which is slightly above average and projects better than expected. Contrast to Happy Clinique: These are different, especially the drydowns, but the openings are very similar with soft orange. MH dries down with more of a whipped vanilla quality. Performance is roughly equivalent. Contrast to Honey Marc Jacobs: These are different, but there are some similarities with forward honeysuckle. MH has a more forward orange. Performance is about equivalent for these two. Contrast to Island Hawaii Michael Kors: These are different, but there are some similarities with forward orange/orange water. IH has a more forward neroli lending a clean laundry facet that I don't smell in MH. They have roughly equivalent performance, or slighty stronger for MH. Contrast to Tory Burch Tory Burch: These are different, but the openings are similar with forward orange. TB dries down more like a tea-like, and aligned with scents like Chloe EDP Chloe. Contrast to Aqua Allegoria Passiflora Guerlain: These are different, but there is an overall similar vibe. MH has a whipped quality, while Passiflora has a forward luscious passionfruit. Performance is about equivalent for these two. Overall: Absolutely beautiful & versatile scent profile with the best aspects of many of my favourites, and above average performance with a soft scent profile. Although this is likely to be worn in spring/summer, this is the perfect scent to wear for versatility and happy vibe anytime. I just have a sample, but this is going on my wish-list. It's a love for me. Enjoy!

Do you ever think about your early experiences learning what perfumes were just "you"? I mean that after you sprayed it, you felt like this beauty was created just for you? For me, in the mid-70s when I was in junior high, that potion was the original Love's Fresh Lemon. The last couple years, I've been on a sentimental journey to buy a vintage LFL or set including LFL to recreate that pure joy I felt when I discovered the original LFL. I dove into eBay to find just that; and found SEALED original sets and bottles of the original LFL. Alas, time is often unkind to citrus top notes, it has certainly been unkind to the vintage LFL that I purchased on eBay. So why is this fumehead talking about Love's Fresh Lemon when discussing Aerin's Mediterranean Honeysuckle? This Aerin creation is as close to the original LFL as I've whiffed in the last 40 (or more) years. It puzzles me. Truly. But there is no way that I'll criticize Aerin for this beautiful composition. My memory of the original LFL was a bright, effervescent citrus that snapped and refreshed in the hottest dog-days of summer. Aerin Mediterranean Honeysuckle has that same pop that was the original LFL. Mediterranean Honeysuckle is that summer breeze through the lemon orchard that is calling you insistently. I wonder if someone at Lauder has kept a vtg bottle of LFL in the fridge for 45 years? Certainly they won't tell us, but someone knows vtg LFL and clearly loves it as much as I do, to create this beautiful homage. From now on, I will never be without Aerin Mediterranean Honeysuckle for as long as my credit card allows. 10/10

I just finished reviewing the version with mimosa and realized that I never reviewed the original, although it has been a favorite for years. The mimosa version's drydown was identical on my skin, so this review will have some retread. Mediterranean Honeysuckle has been one of my favorite scents since it came out, and frequently receives compliments. When I first apply it, it's all honeysuckle and grapefruit. Not a sweet honeysuckle and definitely not cloying at all - it's the air surrounding the honeysuckle, with a tinge of green. The grapefruit is juicy and watery, but with the tart dryness of its rind. On settling down, this is a "clear", watery floral - slightly citrusy and has always struck me as a classy and confident, but laid-back fragrance. It does bring to mind Aegean blue, lemon yellow (but not lemons - the grapefruit is definitely the source of the citrusy and "watery" notes), and crisp white, as well as wearing clean linen pants by the sea on a breezy and warm (but not hot) day. It has surprising sillage and lasting power for its fragrance category. I'm always able to smell it on my clothes at the end of the day or even the next morning. Yet, it is light enough to be an office scent. This fragrance is versatile and can go anywhere, at any time, and any occasion. Its strengths will show through most in warm weather, though.

I missed the train with Anick Goutal's Chevrefeuille. It is now discontinued and I repent not buying it when I had the chance. Well, this is stunning. Aerin has an amazing talent for making florals, and I fell in love with her way of making perfume after buying Tuberose Gardenia. Mediterranean Honeysuckle opens with pomelo, and it is quite similar to Jour D'Hermes in the pure parfum version. The actual flowers of honeysuckle come after a few minutes, the pomelo subsides but never disappears. As the honeysuckle grows in intensity , the juiciness is replaced by a full bloom of white flowers. It is beautiful, pure, virginal . Honeysuckle is such a classy note , that hasn't been overly used like Jasmine or Rose. Still, I wish it would stay as pure honeysuckle and not get any other white flower notes mixed in. The perfume lacks sensuality. It's simply beautiful and natural smelling without much sofistication. The bottle and the entire presentation is beautiful too, but I was disappointed that the "stone " on the lid is not a real stone. Good imitation though. The silage is soft, the lasting power average. The price ? I think it's overpriced... at $175+tax it should have been much more concentrated. Still, I was always attracted to these natural smelling scents so it's love for me. Next on my list to try is the Lilac Path.

Fresh, Medeterranean Honeysuckle is FRESH, all capitals. You cannot escape the fresh, zesty, "blue" freshness of this one! I always knew of Aerin Lauders fragrance line but never got the chance to ever test them, since they never were offered by my local Estee Lauder counter. One day I popped into John Lewis and saw this gorgeous sky blue topped bottle sat on the counter, one spray and I fell in LOVE with it and that Christmas, Mr Gin got me a 50ml bottle! The cap is evocative of how this scent makes me feel, it reminds me of a hot, sunny day where the skies are blue and you feel invigorated and carefree. Grapefruit and a very photorealistic honeysuckle note burst out upon first spritz; this always adds a spring to my step and makes me smile, with gardenia, lily of the valley and jasmine popping out in the background to help add some more layers to the spritely citrus and polleny honeysuckle, The longevity is excellent on my skin with it lasting a good 7 hours from 3 sprays, it has a moderate silage that garners compliments but without being suffocating or heady. I absolutely LOVE this, the bottle is also sublime and I cannot wait to add another Aerin to my collection, future repurchase!

My goodness - this is an absolutely gorgeous, summer must have. Beautiful scent. Starts bright and tart with the bergamot shining through - reaches the heart with soft, citrus notes leading and a very soft gardenia/ honeysuckle trailing. It's beautiful - soft and citrussy but also has depth with the ever so slight, woody accented gardenia and honey suckle.. I've ordered a full 50ml bottle! It's present but not cloying - very soft, eneveloping and fresh - perfect for British summertime! I LOVE this one! 💜 Perfectly clean white floral with a citrus heart - lingers beautifully 💜 Edited to add : I've managed to eek out 1.5ml tester whilst waiting for full bottle to arrive. 3 sprays, wrist, neck, decollatage - it last incredibly well. Get gentle wafts a full 7/8 hours after spraying. Not a room filler by any means but definitely persistently present. Genuinely surprised as I expected to have to reapply often - it really is a wee Beauty 👌💜

I keep falling in and out of love with this one! I love the bottle, that pebble shape stopper and glass bottle make it look luxorious. I tried hisbiscus palm but didn't like it and wanted an Aerin fragrance so went for this one whilst I was on holiday last summer in Las Palmas, El Corte Ingles. I also got a discount as I had a tourist store card they offered me. This perfume will forever remind me of this holiday I really enjoyed and had such a relaxing time. Only since yesterday I realised this perfume gives similar vibes to Gucci Gorgeous Gardenia which I love but do not own - shampoo fruity floral, and slightly sweeter so probably more suited to younger ladies. Medittaranean Honeysuckle is more floral than sweet - the honeysuckle note is unique, for around mid 30s/40s which I am and so it appealed to me more. However if you own one then you don't need the other, they both have gardenia.

I simply love this. Yes, Aerin fragrances are fairly linear (but high quality linear! ) and definitely overpriced but I happen to absolutely love two of them, the Mediterranean Honeysuckle being one. Its crisp without being masculine or pungent, just really fresh and pure. I love being surrounded by this scent as I walk around, it somehow makes me feel well. It reminds me of being 13 years old and buying a honeysuckle scent from good old Yves Rocher with my pocket money. This is like a sophisticated adult version of it, with touches of lemon and bergamot, maybe a hint of mandarine, decades later. Its simply SO FRESH, with just enough sweetness to make it friendly. I am getting the French Riviera with this, driving in an open top car and stopping for a stroll. Perfect in the summer. Edit: this works surprisingly well in cooler weather also. Its sooooo nice!

This is my favorite perfume. I don't think it would be everyones. I love the smell of honeysuckle, my favorite smell really, and I had some honeysuckle and and lemon oils I use to mix. I use to love the smell of them together and set out to find a perfume that had both of these. I found out this perfume had both so I went down and I sprayed some on and was like, "that's it, that's me, that's my perfume." I really hope this doesn't ever get discontinued. This is not a sexy perfume. It's a pretty perfume. It smells like you're taking a walk and then the wind is blowing and you're catching a hint of both the honeysuckle and the citrus in the air. You really do smell like a breezy summer Mediterranean day. If you want deep rich sexy vibe and like you have a strong dramatic vibe to you, I don't think this would be your perfume. This is a natural girls perfume.

Beautiful Classy Timeless smells like a bride on her springtime wedding day, walking down the steps of a outside venue to her husband and trailing behind flowers from her little cousins flower girl basket. I smell honeysuckle and orange changing fast into grapefruit and a tiny hint of some spice. And landing back with that sweet honeysuckle hanging over in the bushes by the fence. I definitely will be getting a deluxe sample before spring and be looking forward to wearing it the whole time. I just got the Aerin Amber musk D'or to wear this fall and winter. I had gotten a sample of this Mediterranean Honeysuckle when I purchased a bottle of the Caroline Herrera good girl perfume on macari and I am hooked lol don't you hate it when that happens? Actually thinking back thats why I wanted the good girl perfume lol

This is a pretty, summery-fresh scent--I consider it D&G Light Blue's sophisticated cousin. When I wear it, I mostly get a refined blend of tart citrus with a small amount of honeysuckle. I don't smell any of the richness I'd expect from jasmine or gardenia, so I kinda disagree with the fact that white flower is listed as the main accord here. Perhaps there's a hint of it in the drydown, but unfortunately this fragrance doesn't last long enough on my skin for me to know for sure. I got it as a gift, so I'm not fussed, but some may balk at the lack of longevity given the price. I enjoy wearing it, especially during hot weather, and I recommend it if you're really fond of fresh scents and don't mind overspraying.

The original Mediterranean Honeysuckle starts with a very sweet mandarin and bergamot opening and then quickly burns off to reveal a soft, sweet honeysuckle scent. Smooth throughout. Well blended. I love and enjoy the opening and the dry down because it is so quenching and refreshing! Mediterranean Honeysuckle is beautiful. The bottle is beautiful too. On a summer morning, the aroma is a wonderful way to start the day, while eating French macarons and drinking lemonade by the pool. And, it last longer enough and fills any room though. The sister fragrances Mediterranean Honeysuckle In Bloom and Mediterranean Honeysuckle Mimosa did the same thing and I love them both. Aerin is always worth the money!

This fragrance makes me happy. I used to live near the ocean. Every day I would walk to the beach and smell this beautiful floral scent along the way. Turned out to be honeysuckle that was growing by the sidewalk. Last time I went back to visit I wanted to get a honeysuckle scent, and ended up with this one. It’s fresh and clean, I think because of the citrus and the lily of the valley, it does smell a bit like a fancy soap. But I kind of like that. I’m looking forward to the weather finally warming up in the mountains, where I now live, so I can wear this more. Meanwhile I just keep picking up the bottle, sniffing, and awakening happy memories of walking near the beach.

This fragrance was so well done because the concept behind the name comes through when you smell this in the most unexpected way! This bright, juicy grapefruit note is softened by the bergamot and cooled by the lily of the valley. When I hear Mediterranean I thought this would be an aquatic and have some ocean notes, but not at all - this is a citrus floral delight. The cooling effect of the lily of the valley is genius, it washes over you like a cool wave. I get the honeysuckle in the dry down and a bit of the mandarin orange. I really love wearing this fragrance; it’s a very feminine fresh floral and makes me feel sunny and happy!

A blind purchase after reviews here, and I really, really like this perfume! It's fresh, but not "hard", if you know what I mean - and has more debth in a gentle way, this is a non-offensive smell that is nice for the office, or in summer, like right now! I can't see how you can go wrong with this one. UPDATE: sadly, the love faded away... Now I suddenly smell airfreshner or mosquito spray, and only that. The citrus suddenly overkilled the other scents I loved so much. Maybe it's the heat/weather change we've had here in Norway this summer..? I must try it several times, also in autumn, so sad the scent changed for me...!

Aerin Mediterranean Honeysuckle... I've had this for a couple years & I love the tart crispness of the opening. I agree that it should have more lasting power. An intense version would be great. I layer it with the matching lotion & get about 3-4 hours of 'the good' before it fades. I keep the rollerball in my purse & roll it generously whenever I need a pop of freshie. I'm with the 'not much honeysuckle' crowd & I often will cap this with Demeter Honeysuckle to give it a bit of that 'extra' if I wear it in the evening. I treat it like a body spray & spray it heavy. When this bottle is gone, I'll be done with it, tho.

I will have to echo that this is really not all about honeysuckle. I mean, yeah, it's a player, but this opens fresh sparkly pink grapefruit and dries down into soft white flowers I can't really pick apart without some effort. More than anything, it reminds me of a grown-up version of a pink grapefruit body spray I had and loved 20+ years ago. Long since discontinued, I am glad to find its ghost resurrected in this fragrance, and with the .3 oz going for song right now, I might have to grab a few more, which is saying a lot for someone who has new signature scent every season...

I loved this perfume! Since I don't like sweet perfumes, I decided to buy this one blindly. It arrived and I fell in love with it. It has a citrus opening and then evolves into a soft floral. I found the fragrance and the bottle to be super elegant. I can already see myself wearing it on vacation in Miami Beach! This will become my signature scent for the summer. The only problem is that it didn't last long on my skin, about an hour at most... I reapplied it but the scent didn't last for more than an hour. I was a little upset about that, but... I loved the fragrance.

This is the perfect honeysuckle perfume for me. I got a travel-sized bottle and I love that it's square-shaped. It's a really nice summer day scent, and lasts about 4-6 hours depending on if you're wearing lotion or a fragrance enhancer. Perfect amount of time to re-spray on the lunch break, and it'll fade by the time you need to wear a nighttime perfume. I'm not sure why people said it was expensive, other than the people comparing it to a cheaper perfume; when you consider the size and the prices of other bottles of that size, this scent feels like a steal.

A perfect summer day scent for woman. Very fresh, light and happy fragrance. White flowers and grapefruit, it is inoffensive and compatible with the open space during hot days. Linear, you can wear it for all occasions: office, friends, brunch, home, etc. The sillage and longevity are correct for this type of perfume (citrus): 6 hours. Timeless, we can use this perfume few years (my problem with the summer perfumes). 9/10 In this brand, for the moment, I prefer Mediterranean Honeysuckle than Hibiscus Palm for summer.

Opens with a punch of grapefruit (which i dont particularly like), however its dries down soon after and what remains is an eclectic mix between the bergamot, lily of the valley and gardenia creating a whole new fragrance which I adore! I love this perfume more than my other favourites, such as Byredo Mojave ghost, Byredo Gypsy, Michael Kors Wonderlust, Black Opium, Versace Crystal noire, Abercrombie and Fitch Authentic night etc. If you like some of the perfumes I like, you may love this as much as I do.

I got the rollerball today. This does smell lovely: a citrus/honeysuckle/floral. It's a rather fresh, innocent scent, somewhat in the same vein of Clinique's Happy. Unfortunately it is so very disappointingly weak. I am rolling it all over both arms and my entire neck/upper chest area to get the level of sillage that I want. I will not repurchase. If they came out with an intense version however....

I tested 5-6 Aerin fragrances and kept getting back to this one. Citrus opening is zesty but somehow well rounded with a bit of sweetness. Honeysucle is so nice and develops fully after 1 hour. I was expecting weak longevity but the smell lingered on my hair for more than 12 hours and the smell was unchanged, which is really a bonus. Highest recommandation, but do not blind buy this one.

I received a sample of this perfume today, and I really love the scent. It's juicy and fresh, and I adore the honeysuckle note in it. It does not have very good longevity, and it only lasts a few hours on my skin. I wish it lasted longer, but this is a beautiful perfume for the warmer spring and summer months when heavy perfumes can be too much for some people. Give this one a try!

This fragrance starts out with both the citrus and honeysuckle being equally noticeable. Then over time, the citrus fades into the background, and the honeysuckle takes over. It’s a great fragrance for the summer months, and more suited for daytime wear. It lasts several hours, which is really remarkable since there are no base notes given in the perfume pyramid. I wear Creed Spring Flower often and I can’t tell the difference. Maybe this one is ever so slightly more rounded. And lasts longer for sure. This is bright and beautiful. I would classify this as a floral aquatic. A must try for anyone wanting a happy scent without "dryer-sheet" or citrus. Not that there is anything wrong with those, I just love how quenching this is!

One of my favorite summer perfumes. I usually pair it with Kurkdijan Aqua Universalis to increase its longevity and add a little more more musculenity. Longevity is not what I seek in my summer perfumes. Long hours in hot weather makes any perfume go sour on my skin anyway and I hate sweet fragrances in summer.

Imagine smelling the sweet nectar of honeysuckle as you enjoy your morning grapefruit on a balcony overlooking the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean Sea. If you could capture that scene in a scent, this beautiful Aerin mist would be it. Literally loved this perfume!!♥

I am devoted to floral perfumes and this is one of my favorite white floral fragrances of all time! I loved it from the moment I first encountered it. The only gripe I have is that I wish it lasted longer on me. Other than that, it is perfect for me in every way.

I can't believe the negative reviews on this beauty! My skin is as dry as the Sahara Desert and this lasts on me throughout a full 12 hr shift at work. My patients seem to love it too. It's light, but projects well. I'm always getting compliments on this.

A review LONG overdue! 😍 This is BEAUTIFUL and has become one of my favorite fragrances for the spring and summer months. It is UBER long lasting on my skin WITHOUT applying any creams or lotions and lasts FOREVER on my clothes!

It is a simple, clean & classy scent. It's light, but has good longevity. With the notes listed I really didn't think I would like it, but I've went through a few samples & ordered a bottle. Definitely a new favorite.
