Rose de Grasse Rouge

Oh my goodness. This is such a rich, deep rose scent. I love the honeycomb base, making it quite smooth and velvety. The word that comes to mind is opulence. Of those in the Rose de Grasse perfume line, this may be my favorite. The OG, which is a parfum concentration, is puzzlingly weak and somewhat more aquatic than Rouge, which is an EDP. The OG, I may have gotten a bad batch because I spray a few times and can’t smell much at all. By contrast, the Rouge flanker is potent. So elegant, timeless, lovely, and feminine. Joyful Bloom is similar to the OG, but I have grown to like it over time. I also love the Pour Filles flanker, which is an EDT, but for a different reason. It’s softer, more well rounded, not soliflore rose. Rouge is masterfully blended. Update: 08/26/2023. I have worn it a few times after purchase, and this is such gorgeous, mesmerizing rose scent. Impressive longevity and sillage for Aerin. So regal.

Rose de Grasse Rouge is a stunning rich rose; velvety Damask to the core. This is definitely a perfect gift for the rose sophisticate in your life, as I can't imagine anyone not liking this kind of rose (unless they just don't like roses at all). I gifted this to my mom, but of course I had to steal a couple sprays! It lasted the whole day on my clothes, so if you're looking for longevity, this is absolutely the one . And yesss, this reminds me A LOT of Stella by Stella McCartney for sure, and explains why my mom loves it so much - she absolutely loved Stella while it was still on the market. Rouge is worth trying, don't pass it up if you're a rose-lover.

This is my essential perfume, I’ve always loved rose perfumes but couldn’t find one that didn’t smell old or give me allergies like Rose Prick. Enter RdGR, which is like smelling 5 different kinds of rose at once, while in a garden after the first rain in weeks. But don’t worry about smelling like the outdoors, there’s a slight human musk to it as well that’s really grounding.

An opulent, velvety red rose perfume. It's only a pure rose scent, there are no other notes, but it's done well. Smells almost exactly like Jo Malone's Red Roses, but slightly more juicy and photorealistic. I prefer this to Red Roses. If you are a rose lover, this would be the ultimate one to get. This is so, so beautiful. The rose in it reminds me of my long lost Stella. I mostly smell rose, not much honey or musk, but at least the rose is lasting quite well on my skin. I’ve tried all the Aerin Rose de Grasse series, and this is the one that is just a straight up beautiful rose. I bought it immediately.

This is the best of the rose line up IMO. If you want to smell exactly like a bouquet of red roses and nothing else this is the one. Extremely bright almost florescent rose perfume. The roses leap out of your lovers arms and into yours. Simplistic soliflore beauty at it's best. Roses and more roses.

This is beautiful. I've been searching for a fragrance that is an almost pure, strong, rose, and I think this is the one. Most other 'rose' scents are pumped full of amber or patchouli or lychee - and while those things are lovely, they're just not giving me as much rose as I desire :)

I imagine picking up roses in the 1800's. Like a soliflor perfume in the Regency Era. If Chloe was a person she would be Aerins Rose de Grasse Rouge's younger, airier cousin. Aerins Rose de Grasse Rouge is down to earth yet bold and passionate. I love this. Smells just like a rose. Probably won't use a full bottle as I do have Chloe and I do prefer that one. They are both very different. One is more serious, and the other is more lighthearted. Like a red rose and a white rose, or a pink rose. This is a gem ladies. If you love red roses, and that is the only note you want to smell like, then you must get it.

I own Jo Malone Red Roses and it was my signature scent for some time, but I never cared for the lemon top note. This perfume smells almost exactly like Jo Malone Red Roses, but without that less desired note. I really like it, but it's quite a lot more expensive than Red Roses, so I don't think I can justify the cost. I still have a half of a large bottle and half of a small bottle of Red Roses. Perhaps I will use some of my Aerin sample tomorrow on Valentine's Day, though. It is very pretty.

Lovely plain rose. Reminiscent of Red Roses, it's not too pink and delicate, but still remains soft and dainty enough. Very elegant, very royal. There is just a hint of honeycomb and violet leaf, they don't overshadow the rose, the perfume is neither exactly sweet, nor very powdery. Smells very true to the real roses. Beauty in simplicity. That honeycomb note adds a gorgeous subtle touch.

This rose is velvety, yet bold. I think Aerin did a good job of making a flanker that is a bit richer and deeper than others in the line. However, don't expect anything more dimensional-- this is a very straightforward rose, with violet adding a touch of green. No honey. Personally I prefer something a little more dewy and transparent, but this is still lovely for fans of rose.

My favourite from the rose lineup of Aerin. Smells just like rosewater, and I love it! I love a well executed rose water scent. Smells very similar to Jo Malone red roses, which is more affordable. Would I enjoy this of it was gifted to me? Yes. Would I pay full price for this? No, I already have 30ml of Jo Malone red roses, and the two are basically identical.

I liked this the best out of all of the Rose de Grasse scents I’ve tried so far. It has a longevity of six hours on skin, which is much better than the original. It also performs better in cooler weather, and it has stronger citrusy start. It reminds me of a weaker and less jammy version of Roses Musk by Montale.

This is the bloodiest & rosiest of the series, a step above its predecessors, especially the original which is utterly pale (figurative & literal) in comparison!

The most innocent rose ever. That’s it. That red bottle is adorable ♥️

You are 13 and standing in your mother's living room waiting for the boy who invited you to the spring dance at school. You smooth the scratchy skirt of your pink dress and add another coat of lipgloss while you wait. The doorbell rings and when your mother opens the door he steps inside. He steps towards you and hands you a red rose surrounded by baby's breath. His mother stopped by the florist on her way home from work at the hospital. She works in the lab there. It's the most beautiful red you've ever seen and you can't resist sticking your nose to the weird leathery petals to sniff. The cellophane wrapper crinkles loudly in protest. You catch his eye and smile and your new braces poke the inside of your lips when you awkwardly kiss his cheek. You will never forget that smell or that kiss. Aerin reached into your brain and made this fragrance. It's that rose from the florist with baby's breath wrapped in cellophane with one of those weird green stem holders filled with water at the bottom. I find the whisper of the smell the leaves and baby's breath most impressive in this fragrance. It's a very photorealistic rose but it's not a rose I want to wear. Plus the rose fades so quickly and you are left smelling faintly of Dawn dishwashing detergent. It's not for me but if you are in the mood for a nostalgic trip through the boutonnieres and wrist corsages of your middle school years then this is definitely for you.

This is a pretty fragrance. That said, it’s definitely NOT purely rose. There’s rose, violet, iris, maybe geranium, and some sort of added sweetness (the notes say honey, but it’s not a natural honey note, it’s very synthetic), and that sweetness here is harsh and loud, ultimately overpowering the rose. This is not a rose fragrance that just so happens to be sweet, it’s a sweet fragrance that happens to have rose at the top. Smells a lot cheaper than it actually is: smells like something you’d buy for a teenager to wear. Definitely not something that I’m interested in ever smelling again. Glad I ordered a sample before blind-buying a full bottle! Not a safe buy, especially if you’re looking for a soliflore.

It's a classic rose. Decent, but nothing new. There's a high chance you have smelled something very similar before. It has a sharp quality that many classic rose perfumes have. A bit tangy and fizzy. Reminds me of red wine. Honey is not detectable. It may be appreciated by fans of classic rose perfumes. - The original is nice, delicate and mellow. It's probably my favorite. - Joyful Bloom is airy, fresh, bright and floral. Great for summer and hot weather. - Pour Filles is rose and pear. - Rouge is mature, classic. Gorgeous bottle. EDIT: it actually smells nice from a distance on a hot summer day.

Imagine someone gave you a bouquet of 50 red roses at the peak of their bloom... and you stick your nose in there and take a big sniff. Now you have smelled Rose de Grasse Rouge. Except there is an initial sharpness that burns the nose. It is mostly linear but as it dries down the honey emerges and a bit of fruit, and it mellows out and becomes more pleasant. This perfume is utterly lacking complexity but if you want to smell exactly like a red rose it will accomplish that. The quality seems very good.

Rose de Grasse Rouge 🌹is like stepping into my grandmother’s rose garden at dawn, where the blooms are so vivid they seem to hum with life. This fragrance captures the essence of a true, romanticized rose with a delicate sprinkle of green morning dew and a whisper of honey. If you’ve ever wished your rose bushes could bottle their scent, this might be your answer. edit: Unfortunately, like a few others mentioned, this turned soapy rose on my arm about 2 hours in. 💔

I mostly smell rose water. It smells nice, but it's very boring. It smells more like pink rose to me than red - there is no mystery here. I did get a compliment on it, so it's strong enough and pleasant if you like this kind of scent. But Pacifica's Persian Rose is quite similar, and much cheaper...

This is very similar to - in full bloom by Kate Spade. It's a very fresh rose. It's definitely a bitter rose. This is very white bar soapy fragrance. Very soapy in fact. It's pretty powdery. I will say, It's a very realistic rose scent. Isn't synthetic at all. This isn't fruity or sweet, what so ever. It's strictly a strong floral fragrance. I absolutely despise this fragrance profile. It's absolutely nauseating. It's a realistic soapy rose and nothing else going on. Fragrance stays relatively the same from start to finish. Doesn't really change much at all. Wear time on this is crazy good, and on clothes, it will stay for daaay's. If you already own, Rose de Grasse Joyful Bloom by Aerin Lauder for women. You don't need this one. They are crazy similar. This one is just a bit softer.

Rose de Grasse Rouge by Aerin is the epitome of opulent rose. It's like the darkest, most velvety roses you'd find in your grandmother's garden. The ones you can't resist touching and catching a whiff of because they're just so darn beautiful. This fragrance is straightforward - it's all about the rose. The honey note adds a touch of that beloved plasticky nuance that I personally adore, but other than that, it's a rose lover's dream. Now, here's the only catch – it doesn't have the most impressive longevity. To make it last longer, I'd recommend spraying it on your clothes.In a nutshell, if you're seeking the essence of a rich, velvety rose, Rose de Grasse Rouge is a true treat for the senses.

While this is a pretty rose scent, it is quite linear and does not develop much from initial rose opening. It becomes a sweet soliflore, with fruity overtones very like plum jam. I found it quite boring after a while. It reminds me a lot of Paul Smith Rose, which is much cheaper, and if I wanted a jammy, linear rose scent that is what I would choose. Not remarkable in any way but perfectly pleasant. I already have a number of rose scents, and this is not special enough for me to buy it.

If you want to time travel back to the early 90’s where your Mom owned Rose scented everything, then this is your perfume. I don’t think I’ve ever smelt with a perfume that just smells like roses and there’s nothing else to it. I don’t get musk, honey or violet- just rose. It’s also very powerful, a bottle of this could last a lifetime. One spray and the whole room smells of roses. Do I think it’s bad? No it’s very pretty. Just not something I want to smell on myself all day.

Dear god I love this perfume. As another reviewer noted, it smells really similar to Jo Malone red roses cologne. In my opinion the bright red bottle of rose de grasse rouge is better looking. It tells you exactly what you are going to get. An in your face, photo realistic red rose. As a rose grower, I would say that this smells exactly like the most premier variate of red rose - Mr Lincoln.

I wonder if this will smell like Kim k Pure Honey? She has that gorgeous rose and honey fragrance and it’s intoxicating! Only the honey takes over on the dry down, well the honeycomb. I love the honeycomb but it pulls really strong in the heat. I can’t wait to try this!

The onset of this is a little much, pungent almost. The dry down is very nice and much lighter, but I found that this becomes a skin scent way too quickly on me. I would recommend spraying on clothes as well to extend longevity, as is true with most Aerin fragrances.

If you’re looking for straight forward photorealistic rose, definitely try this one. It just smells like a rose. It’s protection and staying power are moderate, but there is zero synthetic screechiness. Similar to rose water but richer.

I'll summarize my review in two words: "Rose Water." If you're looking for a honeyed rose scent, I'd suggest "Love Chopard" instead. Furthermore, the bottle is too small. I was shocked by how tiny it was!

I think this is the rose my mom said smells old lady. It’s a true rose and very floral. I think this would be a perfect bedtime scent
