Al-Arabiya

One of the greatest orientals of all time. Oud as always with Agar Aura is the main focus. You could sign it off as too one dimensional, animalic etc. but only if you haven’t smelled real high quality ouds. They can be more complex than a perfume with hundreds of ingredients & Agar Aura is the best example for that. The oud gives the opening a minty, herbal & cooling sensation. But immediately you also get transported to a souk full of aromatic spices, ranging from cinnamon, saffron & coffee. Bitter, sweet, smoky & leathery. Not dark but so deep. Narcotic jasmin & balsamic incense bring aromatic wafts & make it deeper than it already is, so smooth as well. And still, the oud is always on top. Woody, leathery, spicy... And everything harmonizes together brilliantly. I love it soooo much ! When it comes to oud Taha (Agar Aura) makes the best perfumes ! No animalics, no stink ! Clean & complex oud from start to finish. In the attar version the oud feels more concentrated & dense.

Cardamom-spiced dark roast coffee with a big presence of 'clean' yet dark, leathery & ever so slightly petrichor-esque (leaning towards a mix of malaysian/PNG/hindi to my nose) oud constantly in the background. The classical AA cinnamon profile is also very much present, aswell as a touch of saffron. Parallel to this, there's a lot of aromatic & earthy notes fighting to take the stage - patchouli, dark vetiver and a hint of thyme. But these can mostly be felt if sniffed very closely to where you sprayed. In your 'aura' it's all about a comforting, warm hug of coffee, cinnamon and dark woods. Amazing scent!

Dense gourmandish Oriental scent recalling the smell of a middle eastern market. The perfume opens with notes of coffee and saffron. The brief heart has jasmine and henna. The perfume settles into a base of olibanum and oud. The masculine leaning scent has strong sillage, projection and very good longevity. Not for the uninitiated, this one is suited for bold unafraid personalities. For those who can take its smoky woodiness, it is a great ride though. Enjoy!
