This is the fourth Agatho I’ve sampled and, compared to the others, it’s a bit of an outlier in that it’s more subtle and familiar, which is possibly why it doesn’t score as high as I would expect. The other Agatho’s I’ve tried are quite artistic and unique but this is something you’ll have probably smelt before. It reminds me of a cross between Erolfa and Osaito. It has a fresh aquatic nature with slight spicy, woody and florals facets. Firstly, here are the notes as they’re not listed above: Top Notes Citrus Notes, Fresh Green Notes, Blackcurrant, Orange blossom Heart Notes: Sishuan Pepper, Ylang Ylang, Mediterranean Scrub Accord Basic Notes: Seaweed Absolute, Ginger Root, Precious Woods, Cedar Wood It’s fresh with citrus and green notes up top, before the floral aspects come through, which stay fairly evident throughout, all underpinned with a spicy, woody, aquatic base, a touch of creaminess and a hint of salt from the seaweed but nothing more than a slight hint. As it dries down the woods become slightly more prominent but it’s the subtle background salt and creaminess that I particularly like in this which sets it’s slightly apart from other fragrances of this nature. It’s an uplifting, happy scent for sure and would work a treat during the daytime in a hot destination on vacation. Personally, I like this kind of fragrance signature but others might be put off by the fact that it’s much more mainstream, compared to their other offerings I’ve sampled, and it could be seen as playing it too safe. If you’ve smelt Erolfa or Osaito then you’ll know the type of fragrance this is. I prefer this style of aquatic, rather than trying to be too avant garde with some sea urchin or algae accord or the like but many would expect a niche fragrance like this to be more daring. In some ways, I do think they could have made this a little more unique perhaps, in line with some of their other creations, whilst still keeping with the overall feel. However, I haven’t tried it for long so perhaps I’ll pick up additional nuances that aren’t immediately apparent on the first wear. I do particularly like this house though and their offerings and I really quite like this too. Unisex, leaning feminine, depending how you feel about florals. It has good longevity, especially on clothes, and better than the other fragrances I’ve mentioned with a moderate silage which is somewhat subdued but still presents a noticeable scent bubble. Cost is an issue though, it’s very expensive for what it is and most, I would image, will expect something more unique or powerful from a fragrance at this price point. As always with Agatho, the presentation is stunning.

Agatho is an under the radar house. I have enjoyed all of the ones I have tried. This one is m favorite so far. The notes are not listed on Fragrantica but here they are: Top: Laurel Saffron Myrtle Middle: Jasmine, Rose, Honey Base: Frankincense White Musc, Vanilla, Amber. Labdanum, Oud,Frankincense The mix of Vanilla, Oud, Amber, Jasmine, Frankincense and Laurel all work well together> there is nothing radical or all that new but it does have a kick (as do other Agathos) and I quite enjoy this as a winter Holiday scent. The price, however is too high (about $310.00) to justify a full bottle for me. I am glad I have tried it and maybe they will sell travel sizes at some point.

Green leafy, woody spicy aquatic blend. - It starts with citrus and bitter green leaves, moist, lightly salty, and verdant, like walking along a hidden path, parting tall shrubs to reach the seaside, where the ocean stretches endlessly into the depths. 🏝 After 10 minutes, this deep scent gradually lightens, revealing shimmering shades of emerald; hints of pepper and ginger emerge like sunlight, diminishing the dampness. Spiciness intertwines with greenery, reminiscent of the scent of grass and soil at the shoreline. This aromatic spicy sensation peaks around 1-1.5 hours; it gradually fades after 2.5 hours, leaving a subtle spiciness overall. Subsequently, floral notes become increasingly prominent, accompanied by an intriguing salty seaweed nuance, mixed with cedar and ylang-ylang, lending a hint of salty creaminess. By the 5-hour mark, what remains is a clean woody white floral scent, somewhat akin to Rossopompeiano from the same brand, with even lower projection, if not lower 😅 🏝 The character exudes an aura of wearing a loose white short-sleeved shirt, the wind causing it to billow behind him. He carries the scent of freshly bathed soap, with his hair still slightly damp, walking along a green bush-lined shoreline, bathed in just the right amount of sunlight, with dry sand and a faint salty tang in the air. It creates a fresh yet subtly mysterious atmosphere, suitable for spring and summer. Nice spicy woods with a touch of minty freshness. I believe it’s cedar wood or sandalwood plus some molecules. But nothing really special, smells a bit like a very good yet quite generic male fragrance from 10s (like with some salty wood vibes).

When I wear a fragrance and I forgot what it was about at the same day or after one day usually that not a good sign I remember wearing it and I didn’t have any idea what it was I didn’t get any impression whether it’s good or bad It was neutral and weak at the same time After I’ve tried a couple from this line and house I already can say I have a concrete understanding of it It is plainly a packaging focused brand with no real passion for the juice just using stories to cover their mediocrity Not sure if I will test other scents from the line but i already have a bad impression

It smells tropical/beach-y, but also "swampy" lol I think I get frangipani flower, vetiver, and ylang-ylang. It's not a full on sun tan lotion; it's less sweet than most in the genre, and has a woody backbone, maybe sandalwood. Not for me, and terribly overpriced, imo.

This smells similar to Amougage Guidance. It's just a wee bit softer and has worse longevity. But it gives me the same headache and I had to go and shower after an hour.

Overripe pear, creamy mango and peach, to the point of overly so. Calms down A LOT within 5 minutes and goes in the direction of camphorous and green notes, mainly sweet mint but also faint eucalyptus. Can't even smell the fruitiness anymore. Soil, lemon peels, vetiver and woody notes. Despite this it feels fresh and not overly heavy. A very interesting one for sure.

This is a marine woody type fragrance. I think @parkemuth has listed the notes for the Agatho I just happen to be wearing rn-Castiamanti. I bought the sample set from Roja Dove’s Haute Parfumery site but unfortunately it looks like it’s not for sale anymore.
