Agent Provocateur Lace

Well, I bought this myself from Escentual and it was worth every penny of the (under) £25.00 GBP I paid. I haven't smelled Fendi Fantasia, nor am I likely to now, as the house is defunct (someone is criminally responsible for that - Fendi produced some wonderful perfumes, all of which will soon be gone forever), so can't comment on any similarities. One of my favourite perfumes is Alien; I am puzzled by the comparison to Lace. Several people have agreed that it reminds them of it, so perhaps my nose is on the blink... I also have (and love) Alien Sunessence, to which AP Lace has also been compared and I cannot smell the similarity to that, either. I do agree that Lace is considerably lighter and - for want of a better word - more "polite" than Alien which, like many Mugler fragrances, is a sillage bomb; nonetheless, Lace's sillage is beyond arms-length. Lace (to my nose) is predominantly a floral perfume, although I can't identify WHICH flowers; I can smell something which - to my nose, anyway - is somewhat reminiscent of roses. I don't know what periwinkle smells like, despite it growing in my garden. It's not in bloom at the moment so I can't go and stick my nose in it to check. Likewise, I have never smelled a fragrant orchid; the ones I grow are all scent free, other than having a natural "green plant" fragrance. I do detect a slight similarity to CK Euphoria (or one of its flankers), which must be coming from the orchid note. Lace also has a fruity tone, but - again - I can't identify which fruit I can smell. There are gentle balsamic and woody tones to this, which underpin the florals very nicely and the musk is there too, but not at all animalic or intrusive. This is yet another AP fragrance which I love. I am so impressed by this house - the perfumes are often really interesting and (to my nose anyway) don't smell very much like anything else. Lace is a limited edition fragrance and is already quite difficult to source. I highly recommend checking it out! It smells considerably more expensive than it it.

I have all of the AP fragrances and don't want to run out, so considered myself lucky to pick up an unopened bottle of this for a low price. On reacquaintance I get a LOT of almond, obviously it isn't there and is the overall impression, but it's lovely. It drifts into more ambery territory after that with the florals also present. It amuses me when people say the bottles are grenades, when they've been designed specifically to represent full breasts. The whole brand is about eroticism, hence the Aphrodisiaque vulvae. After one terrible date wearing the original, I received 56 texts the next day, including, "Every time I smell that perfume I'm going to be reminded of you." I assume that means it worked.

Super Alien vibes here but like many have said, just way toned down. I love Alien, I love AP, so naturally, I love this. Super affordable with decent sillage and longevity - I'm here for it.

floral, pepper, powdery, a little vanilla, white musk, dry, a tiny bit fruity in the opening but not citrus or tart; very powdery fragrance and NOTHING like Alien

This is Fendi Fantasia! The exact same fragrance. Both are lovely so I'm not complaining. Only difference is AP lacks Fendi's longevity.

weird but no top/sharp notes on the first 5-6 sprays... then one minute later.. very woody and ambery notes started to emerge (and lingered to the end, and got stronger, not weaker, lol), with traces of bitter sweet florals but only in the background ... yes, almost identical to Alien, potent but way lighter and close to the skin... nicely done.

This one is too bitter for my taste, generally, but there's a nice balsamic-spicy undertone to it. Strongly white floral and spicy. It gets better as hours go by. Kind of okay, but it would be difficult for me to wear it daily.

It's a cheaper Mugler Alien- not much nuance here, unlike Agent Provocateur Fatale Intense which actually adapted and expanded upon Mugler Angel.

Agree, smells a lot like Alien; lovely summer fragrance nonetheless, for those who find Alien too heavy for daytime like me

I have always appreciated Agent Provocateur as a fragrance brand. They are great value for money and most, (if not all), smell fantastic. I own quite a few fragrances from Agent Provocateur and they are easy go-to's for when I want to smell seductive and feminine. Agent Provocateur Lace is one of their most recent releases. This fragrance shares some similarities to Thierry Mugler's Alien EDP, however, I think Lace is much more refined. The original Alien is on the quirky side of things with bold, overly sweetened amber and a heavy, medicinal dose of jasmine. Agent Provocateur Lace is less daring and has a smoother blend of white florals, amber, citrus and musk. An added bonus is the cheaper price point, retailing for around $40 less than Alien. Lace has excellent longevity and strong sillage on my skin. I enjoyed almost seven hours of wear and was pleased to receive a few compliments from family members during sampling. It certainly has its charm and is sure to be a crowd-pleaser, particularly for those that enjoy sensual white florals. Lace is a cooler weather fragrance, in my opinion. It would also make an appropriate choice for date night or a night out on the town. My partner and I are homebodies, so nights out are rare these days, but if I were to frequent the clubs like I used to, Agent Provocateur Lace would be my fragrance choice. Although difficult to find, Agent Provocateur Lace can still be sourced from selected discount retailers and online. I fear it may be a limited edition, so I urge its fans to stock up while you still can.

I blind bought this on eBay, recently. I confess I am kind of addicted to blind buys at the moment :) It's risky but it's so fun! I agree that Lace is super similar to Alien. I do enjoy Alien and also have it my wardrobe. In this one, I get the accord of bitter almonds, in the opening not in Alien. This one is softer in intensity but still a very beautiful floral scent. Appropriate for daywear or for those who say that Alien it's too strong. I love Agent Provocateur Granade Shape Bottles. This one is my 6th Granade and I am happy to have it in my collection :)

I'm not sure what is aggressive or vulgar about this bottle. I think it is pretty. I'd love a bottle of this to put on my vanity, to go with her 4 other sisters I own. I've yet to meet an AP I didn't like. VERY excited to try this one.

I love Alien so I might get this just to have a similar but probably not exactly alike fragrance. I love orange blossoms and never really grown tired of them. I hope the musk will not be too dirty.

I have one question........what does "periwinkle" smell like?? Fragrantica doesn't even describe it *blink*

Why I did not find it yet? I don't like Alien, but I like AP Classic and Eau De Emotionale.

It smells VERY close to Mugler Alien, but with an addition of berries. Nice.

Smells exactly like Mercedes Benz Woman. Like a tweeter toned-down Alien.
