Kaaf Noir

Kaaf Noir by Ahmed Al Maghribi is a new release that has been very favourably reviewed online. It is not a dupe so I figured I'd pick it up for AED100 which is about US$25 / EUR21, to see what it is all about. Maybe it is just me but the bottle aesthetic infers something dark and heavy, highly masculine and perhaps with a lot of very heavy wood or oud or something. It has this shiny black finish with a gothic feel to it and the gold accents and writing really make it feel like something well off the mainstream path. Oddly, the fragrance is anything but that. It is a nicely done dusky almost-freshie with a lot very juicy and sparkly (but not very sweet) citrus in the top working off some very persistent juniper berry notes. It has a slight gin and tonic vibe in the opening but as it starts to dry after a minute or so you get these spices creeping in. I really enjoy the heavy patchouli and musk in the base and these grow in prominence as it dries down. I used to own K by D&G back in the day and this opens with a strong similarity but it diverges a lot as it dries. People have said it is a K dupe and I don't think it is. The florals in the middle and the textured vetiver and patchouli in the base are nicer than K and this doesn't go cloying or sticky like K did for me. I enjoy this one a lot more. The florals are a lot more present and better defined; this is a much better blended juice than K is to my nose. K is a lot more linear as well. Another area where this walks its own path well away from K, is the performance. I get a solid 8-9 hours of this off two squirts and it is clearly a vastly better performing scent, also in the way it projects which is much stronger. I'd go as far as to say you should be careful spraying this as it is very strong and you could overspray it easily. It has the sort of profile where overspraying wouldn't be good. There is a lot more Ambroxin in this than K and because of this it gives me Sauvage vibes as well. To me this sits somewhere between a darker reimagining of Sauvage and K but is considerably stronger and more projecting than both and has the same dense and high end complex feel I get from BDC L'Exclusif. A freshie this may be (just about....) but it is not a daily wearer and is more of a nighttime fragrance I would say. It is a darker blue spicy kind of freshie, so the BDC L"Exclusif comparisons are quite valid. It smells nothing like BDC but has the same dense, smooth blue aromatic feel. For the money this cost, it is absolutely magnificent. Somewhere in the midst of (but not a dupe of) Sauvage EDP and K by D&G but a bit stronger and heavier, but a quarter of the price of the first one and half the cost of the third. I can see this one going stratospheric once the YouTuber and TikTokker influencers get hold of it. If I have a criticism it is that the florals and citrus notes feel quite synthetic but that might be the Iso E Super throwing a fuzzy blanket over everything. Again, for the money this cost Kaaf Noir is outstanding. Three Word Summary - Black And Blue Layering suggestion: I tried layering it with some Lord of Misrule by Lush to ramp up the earthiness and patchouli and it is a combo I do recommend. It takes it out of the blue realm into darker waters I really enjoy. Really, really nice. Scent - 8/10 Sillage - 9/10 Drydown - 7/10 Bottle/packaging - 7/10 Performance - 8/10 39/50

Just got this yesterday, and absolutely love it. I do not own "K" by D&G, so I cannot reference that at all. I can smell a hint of Absolu Aventus in the background at the dry down, and I can smell a little of some remnants of BDC Parfum in the mid, but that in the background as well. I do not have anything in my collection that reminds me of the fragrance, so it is a welcome addition for year round fragrance. Performance is very much above average, which we can expect from this maker. This easily could be a signature fragrance, safe for 4 seasons, office friendly, date approved, just a great fragrance that pushes way above its price point. I have seen a slew of reviewers get this frag in the mail lately and are pushing it pretty hard, when the fragrance has been out for a good few months with zero push. I was skeptical if this just was influencer pushing this on behalf of the manufacturer, but I can say that this one is as good as the reviewers are saying. Also, this is one that you can go nose blind to if you spray it close to your chest. This fragrance projects pretty good, and for a long time. I thought that it had fizzled out, but I walked outside and could smell it like I just put it on after 1.5 hours. This fragrance is not weak, but does seem to become a scent bubble after 2.5-3.0 hours. 8.5 out of 10. Certified banger in my collection.

I wanted to use this so badly when I first got it, but just like Kaaf and other extraits from Ahmed Al Maghribi, patience is absolutely required because it takes a lot longer for these higher oil concentrations to settle and mature. Now, don't let anyone tell you this is a 1:1 of anything, it's not, but it's blowing my mind how good it is. I would say it feels like 75% D&G K EDP, 15% Absolu Aventus, and 10% BDC Parfum. When I first smelled it on paper I didn't get much at all, but as it dried down a lot of the K notes were jumping out at me with a little bit of that Absolu dry down. Almost 2 months later this is gorgeous. Blood orange smacks you in the face on the open, backed by spicy cardamom and a heaping dose of herbaceous juniper. The open fades but this is such a high concentrated perfume that it takes quite some time before showing you its heart of an aromatic lavender, very noticeable iso E super, and sagey florals. The base is very blue with a giant cedar and ambroxan push over musky grassy patchouli. This is an easy one to go nose blind to so don't spray near your face if you can avoid it and you'll catch whiffs all day.

You know there sure are a lot of D&G K clones for something that supposedly isn't that popular. I think the middle eastern companies know what's up with this one. This DNA is awesome and it's either my first or second favorite blue DNA(Savauge being the other). How come it's Kaaf a middle eastern name, but then Noir which is French?I love the blood orange I just wish it had more. It is just a wonderful deep dark blue fragrance at the end of the day. I find it's perfectly balanced between all the notes(except I want more blood orange). It has citrus, green stuff, woods, and some warm spices it's just fantastic, and great for all weather and any situation. They could have called this Kaaf Deep Blue.

My second perfume from Ahmed Al-Maghribi after Prometheus. The surname "Noir" is... A trap set by Ahmed Al-Maghribi for their customers 😅 Kaaf Noir, a flanker from their famous white-bluish bottle day perfume, Kaaf, is probably their plan to tap into more masculine customers. If Kaaf is intended for fresh or for sports day, then Kaaf Noir is for fresh formal day perfume. Although, I can imagine that this bad boy can also be used for sport occasion. For me personally, I might use this for almost every occasion, together with Prometheus. Kaaf Noir for day, Prometheus for night. But I might use them vice versa because for me, both are versatile enough for any occasions.

#1689 in my “Tour de Fragrance” Got this spray sample from scentwithsense.com. I really enjoyed “Kaaf” and I enjoy “Kaaf Noir” as much if not more. This version is a little more herbaceous, which I like, lasts a little longer, has more silage. is more green and less freshie than “Kaaf.” Primarily a juniper scent, of which I have a dozen or so and love that category. Some commonality with Azzaro Pour Homme EDP. I think this is an all-around versatile scent you can wear anytime of year in any setting. As long as you don’t overspray it’s car pool, elevator and small office safe. A definite bottle buy for me.

An "easy grab" perfume. As an extrait de parfum, its performance is exceptional. Regarding the olfactory profile, I completely agree with reviews highlighting the juniper berries, lavender, clary sage, cedar, and ambroxan. The ambroxan is quite prominent, meaning it may cause you to go noseblind after a few hours, though it remains noticeable to those around you—especially if the weather is a bit warm. Furthermore, the pressurized atomizer is an excellent touch. Overall, this easily ranks among my top five purchases of 2025.

For those of you wondering you will get a hint of Absolu Aventus and K by D&G in Kaaf Noir. I enjoy noire a million times more than the og Kaaf, this is the bad son to Kaaf’s good son 😂. Date night approved fall and winter banger and because of the high oil concentration it’ll last all day. I want to me another note: K by D&G smells a bit fresher in a way, however Noir is still up there quality and scent wise I actually like it better.

I’m in love with this scent. It’s a beautifully balanced blend of aromatic, piney, and woody notes that just works. It’s moderate to long-lasting, leaves a gorgeous trail my pillow and has a breezy projection. Incredible value for the price

This is D&G K if they aventus absolu'd it lol and made it 50%. Masculine, clean, very woody/juniper forward with a dark blue base. Pretty mature but a great longlasting every day scent. Been wearing it a lot since I got it! 8.5/10

Fresh out the box it’s a banger reminds me of collectors edition but different can’t wait to see what it’s like in a couple weeks but definitely a good buy

This is firmly woody-musky, ozonic wouldn't really call this a fresh. But I guess thats what makes it a all-year-round scent. Closest comparison to this I would say is Mancera Amberful or Nishane's B-612: about 90% identical, so if you know that one you know what you're getting into. Lavender, musk, juniper berries & ozonic note are mostly prevelant here. I don't really get the Aventus comparisons going around are completely lost on me, there's no pineapple-birch DNA anywhere in this. Solid sillage, decent longevity, scent itself is good but not unique enough to be a must-buy unless you're deep into this genre. Sillage: 8/10 Scent: 6.5/10 Longevity: 7.5/10"

Just got this. On air, the dominant note is cardamom, lovely. However, on skin, juniper is the most prominent at the opening and mid, and from a foot away, smells like just coming out of a shower having used soap with a pine accent. As it dries down a bit, it starts to smell like the Dettol ant-bacterial floor cleaner, pine version. I read some reviews of the original Kaaf here, and there are at least 3 reviews comparing its scent to floor cleaner. However, in one review, after 2 months of maturing, it totally changed and became a good one. Anyway, will update here later as I let it mature for a couple of months and use more. I really hate this "macerate" process, these factories should do it themselves. If it still fails, the only way to salvage this is to create a new scent by layering with another fragrance.

I'm a regular guy. I'm not going to talk like a YT influencer. This stuff does not smell like summer and it certainly is not 'fresh.' Blind buy beware. This leans heavily mature for me, but I did wear this yesterday, and while in the grocery store a worker said it smells like strong Axe body spray somewhere. Ymmv, but this again, is not blind buy safe imo.

Nobody else picking up strong Hacivat vibes in the opening? Immediate for me, before it turns into a dark blue-ish scent with green facets, some spice and aromatics. Not what I expected overall. Not quite for me, a let down.

This one an okay fragrances, definitely a blue ish fragrance with masculine vibes a prominent woody and musky. Nothing special but still acceptable. Moderate performance, typhically grab and go fragrance. Rate 5/10

Lasted a long time on clothes, but can’t help but feel that it’s a sweatier cheaper version of Abercrombie’s Fitch, with more woodiness in the mix

It has nothing to do with Creed Aventus Absolu nor with bleu De Chanel. I am wondering about those reviewers who compare it with these two perfumes.

First of all People claiming this being a Hybrid of K, bdc & Absolu are just Trying to sell u a fragrance. Just think about it. This parfume came out a year ago and suddenly everyone is talking about it. That’s because every influenceer got send this bottle and has a affiliate link. Only youtuber i trust is TLTG reviews. Hé keeps it real. Doesn’t care about his links. REVIEW: So i tried this today so these are my actual first impressions. It smells pretty fruity almost medicinal fruity. The oranje on top is used in a pretty wellknown couch-sirup in Holland. (Bisolvon hoestdrank) Other than that, smells pretty fruity, soft, Well rounded. To me, this smells nothing like Bleu de Chanel Parfum or Aventus Absolu wich i both own. This does smell a bit like K edp. Projection on my skin is not that great. I sprayed this on ten minutes ago and this is not projecting at all. I think longevity is not going to be a problem because of the high oil concentration. I don’t think it’s actually a 50% oil concentration like amouage do But It is pretty high because it’s absolutely oily on my skin. I’m glad i samples this because to me, this is mostly a dupe of D&G K edp. And that fragrance was not a hit. Think about it, who actually went out and got any of the D&G K fragrances ? So why Buy a dupe of a fragrance u didn’t Buy. Sample first. At most a mid fragrance. 5/10 smell 8/10 longevity Projection 6/10

I took a chance and blind bought this one after hearing it compared to Aventus Absolu, Bleu de Chanel, and even K. I can confidently say—it smells nothing like Aventus or BDC. I own both, and the comparison feels way off. Honestly, it comes across like another influencer-pushed release more than anything. But putting that aside, here’s how it actually performs. The opening is rough. You get a blast of blood orange drowned in lemon that smells extremely synthetic—borderline harsh. On my skin, that phase sticks around for a solid 15–20 minutes, which is a long time to wait it out. The upside is that it does improve. As it settles, the sage and lavender start to break through and smooth things out, making it at least somewhat enjoyable. In the drydown, you’re left with a simple cedarwood and musk base, with a heavy dose of ambroxan driving it. This isn’t something I’d reach for to wear out, but I could see it working as a casual after-shower scent—something easy to throw on around the house in the evening or before bed. At the end of the day, it’s a pretty basic, run-of-the-mill fragrance that doesn’t really stand out in any way. Bottom line: don’t go chasing this expecting something special just because it’s being hyped online. Rating: 5/10

Kaaf Noir opens with a bright hit of blood orange and cardamom that immediately grabs your attention. As it settles, juniper berries come through strongly, backed by aromatic lavender and sage which give it that clean, slightly herbal edge. In the base, you get a lot of Iso E Super and cedar, with vetiver adding a smooth, woody backbone. The overall vibe is fresh, clean, and slightly soapy, with those woods really shining through in the dry down. Performance is moderate on my skin with about 6 hours of longevity and decent projection early on. I’m hoping it improves a bit with some maturation. Overall, this is a fantastic fragrance. It smells amazing and I actually prefer it over the original Kaaf.

Kaaf Noir is a great example of how you really have to listen to what you are hearing from social media influencers. To call it a “freshie” is not enough, it’s an earthy green leaning citrus scent that has little in common with any fresh or blue scents that “freshie” bring to mind. This is not a casual out of the shower scent - unless you also think Hermes’ H24 line fits that billing. It is also a wet concentration and will remain sticky on your skin for the first hour. Kaaf Noir is an interesting and individual scent. I will be wearing it and also monitoring its maturing phase to see how it develops.

Smells good; I have r cently smelled this and magnetic from french avenue and also yumn rasasi They are very similar, except this one is fruitier, to yumn is more lavender, magnetic is more floral. All 3 are amazing and to my nose are really close, like close to ysl y or myself or l'homme stuff. Calming fresh mass appealing way. All are designer level not dupe level. Good quality for all three indeed. I am a critical person in perfumery though! So trust in these three ones.

Forget the online hype, forget the nae sayers, forget those who compare it to blue fragrances like BDC or even something like Aventus, it is nothing like those. People be hating just for the sake of it, anybody familiar with K EDP/EDP intense by D&G will immediately figure out that it’s a vibrant spicier take on the K DNA. For that reason alone it does have a uniqueness to it.

I did crap on this fragrance at first, but glad I came around. It's a solid cheapie. Has D & G (K) vibes sprinkled with cross between Sauvage Elixir, and Absolu Aventus. Just my opinion take it with a grain of salt. Performance is decent, for me right out the box about 6-7hrs. Not mass appealing, but most will find it okay.

I’m going to let my bottle sit for a while because this is a oud bomb, if it doesn’t change then the influencers like Mr.tattoo muscle man who loves himself and the guy that loves spraying his balls are pure freaking shills.

Very reminiscent of K EDP, but more juicy and fruity. Very concentrated, not insane projection but it's alright. Decent if you want a simple freshie for signature scent.

Just got it today. First wear reminds me of lattafa sheikh al shiyukh the original 50ml. Really. Try it side by side and see!

Question : Between fresh and summer fragrances, which one is better: Kaaf or Kaaf Noir? Sillage ? Scent ? Longevity ?
