Oath

I blind-bought this perfume about a year ago, when I discovered how much I actually love tuberose and realized I desperately needed more voluptuous tuberose scents in my wardrobe. Looking at the notes, I knew this one was going to be gorgeous, but when it arrived, I was shattered to discover that there was an extremely sharp note that persisted through the entire fragrance, drowning out the beautiful, luscious, velvety tuberose. I thought this fragrance would have been perfect without it! I assumed it was my skin chemistry reacting to the specific musk aroma chemical that was used, as I’ve experienced it in a few other fragrances. Heartbroken, I put Oath in the back of my perfume closet, planning to sell it someday. I didn’t yet believe in *what I thought was a bogus concept* that certain scents needed to “macerate”. I thought people were just smelling things differently after some time had passed, due to a change in weather/seasons, mood, or hormones, as I am very aware of how my perfumes smell differently on me, depending on those factors. But lately, the Universe has been speaking to me about maceration, constantly throwing this concept back in my face, as it’s been popping up in most of the reviews I’ve been recently reading, so I became curious about whether my bottle of Oath had been affected after sitting for a year (because initially I had sprayed it a few times). Lo and behold, to my great surprise, the fragrance has transformed! The sharp note is now nearly undetectable unless I sniff deeply with my nose pressed against my skin. Thank God!!! Of all the fragrances I have owned and still own, I have never had one transform over time like this one did, and I can now firmly attest (to anyone else who is a non-believer) that this “maceration thing” is real. If, like me, you get a sharpness in Oath, spray it a few times, and put it back in your closet. Check it again in a few months, or even a year. You’ll be glad you gave it some time.

It’s spiced up tuberose. It does have a stinky stage. It’s a spice but I can’t tell what. I like it a lot. It’s versatile and complex.

I detect all of the notes above + some kind of a resinous balsam... for anyone looking for a clean white floral this is not it... Oath is pretty unique, niche caliber and has great performance.. I only wish they would list all the notes so buyers would be informed of the woody/resinous base... Note: for those of you in search of the clean orange blossom (elie saab) scent, Hamsah by swiss arabian and Edition 1 by armaf are both beautiful and affordable : )

Super rich tuberose fragrance with sharp lily-of-the-valley accent at the offset. The apricot pulls stronger on my skin than expected, settles into a musky and lightly sweet white floral within an hour. Very strong, a few sprays is more than enough. Leaves a trail, big compliment getter. This can work all year round, but I prefer this kind of profile in the warmer season.

it has something that stings a bit. Other than that, it's ok.

This smells like such an expensive tuberose perfume. I have a a decent sized collection of cheapies and expensive fragrances and this rivals the expensive ones After having this for a few days there is something way too sharp in it that makes it impossible to wear. I let it macerate for a few weeks and it’s settled now and I mix it with a vanilla and it’s smells so good. It just wasn’t sweet enough but the weather is colder now so maybe it will be good in hot weather where I will need something less sweet
