Scent Review Comparison: La Voie & My Way I love the scent profile of My Way so when I saw Maison Alhambra's version I had to try it! Keep in mind not all inspirations/schmoops are made the same but I have found Maison Alhambra's to be a good house. If you are not familiar with the brand it is a sub-bramd of Lattafa which makes some of the most popular viral scents! In short, My Way is a sophisticated white floral flowerbomb! I love florals - rose, muguet (aka lily of the valley), tuberose, jasmine, orange blossom, gardenia, hyacinth, magnolia, lilac, etc. On a test strip, My Way is deeper and perhaps more refined. If you have a trained nose you can smell the different notes. To me, it is a classically modern take on florals - not heavy on aldehydes like some classic scents but I think this one will stand the test of time. On a test strip, La Voie is brighter and juicier, if that makes sense. Do you get the different notes? I don't, I just get a glorious vivid and succulent tuberose in every possible way. Is it as refined as My Way? To me, no. However, I am 100% fine with that! On my skin, My Way turns into more of a skin scent. It is soft but there is a deepness to the notes. It is a lush and beautiful scent. La Voie is much more aromatic and luminous. There is a scent bubble. It also lasts hours on me compared to My Way. I truly adore them both! I haven't layered them yet but that will be my next step. Do you need both? Of course not but if you enjoy My Way's scent profile and are looking for a more wallet friendly alternative (3.4oz for under 20!) then I highly recommend La Voie!

I’ve had my bottle of My Way for about a year now, and I’ve worn it in both hot, humid climates and dry heat. I must say, I really like it. A lot of people describe it as generic and boring. While it might be somewhat generic, I wouldn’t call it boring. Sometimes I just want a nice, safe floral scent and this one does the job. It’s pleasant, reliable, and satisfies a craving I often get for My Way. It’s not my favourite perfume, nor the most complex or natural-smelling, or beautiful, but when I feel like wearing it, I really enjoy it. It wraps you in a soft, sweet scent bubble. It's a bubble-gummy tuberose that performs well. Interestingly, when I was travelling in Asia in very hot, humid weather, it actually smelled the best. The floral notes really came alive in that climate, it was a gorgeous and rich tuberose/jasmin combo. Back in Australia, in less humid and sometimes dry heat, it doesn’t bloom the same way but still smells lovely. I especially like the dry-down, which on my skin turns into a creamy mix of white musk and florals. That’s the part I enjoy most. There is something in it, possibly the bergamot (because i didn't notice it in my way floral or parfum that doesn't have bergamot) that I’m a little unsure about. I don’t hate it, but I don’t love it either, i can't put my finger on it. Still, I think My Way wouldn’t be My Way without i whatever that note is. Overall, a solid 7.5 out of 10. It’s one I reach for fairly often, especially in summer, despite having a large collection.

Ok the reviewers who are calling this perfume ‘basic’ and ‘not groundbreaking’ are just so dramatic?? There are so many other perfumes I’ve tried that are so similar to eachother and extremely popular. This one is one of the ones that smells the least like others? Actually, it smells so close to L’interdit however for some reason that perfume is praised to the gods? Anyway.. this perfume is beautiful! The tuberose and orange blossom, much like in L’interdit, translate to a grapey accord. However, unlike L’interdit, the combination of bergamot and orange blossom do add a little citrus note in here that in my opinion balances the fragrance a lot better and also gives its a brighter happier feel! Some reviewers have noted they smell a red berry, perhaps strawberry, and although that isn’t listed I do get that just a tiny bit. Maybe I wouldn’t have picked up on that had I not read about it. I almost get an orange creamsicle vibe from this! It’s really pleasant, and between this and L’interdit I prefer My Way because of its brightness and sparkle! Also that bottle.... it’s just beautiful. One thing that was holding me back are the bad reviews on this one that frankly I think are silly. While I believe, obviosuly, not everyone is going to like the fragrance, I just can’t get behind these ‘basic’ ‘generic’ ‘not ground breaking’ statements! My Way is bright and gleaming and more unique than most designer fragrances. Cheers!

Absolutely love.First time I tried a sample I hated it . It smelt like a way too intense floral.However I smelled it like two years later and fell in love.i usually don’t like citrus but this is just so well done.The perfect word to describe it is pretty.A pretty and sweet girly fruity floral.its not the most unique,it does smell kind of like paradoxe and mass market , but that’s why its so appealing .It gives such pretty girl energy.You know how every attractive girl used to wear flowerbomb in the 2010s?this is the 2020s version but not so overworn you smell it everywhere.I personally haven’t smelt it on other people and I don’t think it’s popular maybe because it was released during Covid.Most perfect spring perfume , it smells like flowers blooming.It also gives very pink energy if you know what I mean.I personally haven’t smelled other tuberose perfumes so maybe that’s why I find an aspect of my way so unique, but generally I recognize it’s very similar to other designer perfumes.A very safe pretty and feminine scent.I think ,even though it’s more daytime,that it makes a great signature scent.The kind of fruity floral that has enough depth and isn’t too young or immature.I personally don’t get the bubblegum everyone is talking about but my friends tell me I smell like candy when I wear it.Thinking of layering this with vanilla candy rock sugar to enhance that .

One of the most beautiful products of modern commercial perfumery, a perfect balance between intensity and delicacy, freshness and sweetness, a flower rendered in its most ethereal nature without distorting it. A modern classic of extreme grace and femininity: what more could you ask for? For goodness' sake, everyone has their own tastes, and if you don't like white flowers, you certainly won't like My Way anymore. I understand that some prefer more opulent versions (which, however, are less suitable in certain contexts), but anyone who compares it to niche perfumes (which have less than a Diptyque or a Byredo?) is absolutely biased. Anyone who finds it too sweet and cloying has a nose still spoiled by past eras and is incapable of discovering something new. You don't always have to spend €300 in a boutique to find a good perfume, nor delve into daring experiments. Sometimes you can even find a good perfume in commercial perfumes, and often simplicity pays off and is appreciated.
