What if I told you that this is the niche version of TF oud wood ?? A better performing, better presented and slightly lower priced niche version of it. You can get slight hints of Armani Atttitude here.There are no matching notes but it does give a very similar vibe. The main difference between this and TF is the mid I believe, as Oud wood keeps a fresh woody but masculine vibe but Rose Oud gets slightly unisex as it builds up, not in a bad way though. Possibly because of the florals and powder, not the rose. I still enjoy Oud wood more than this tbh, but the newer formulation is extremely weak for the price. My older bottle with golden sticker lasts me a good day with amazing projection, while the new one you can go crazy but still won't be going crazy lol. The final verdict would be that if you enjoy Oud Wood and need something with better performance and you don't mind a bit of powdery-ness this is your go to.

Ajmal Rose Wood is a fairly simple composition. Pink pepper and rose are very prominent for the first 2 hours, with a bit pungent and well balanced woody base. The spiciness is dry and almost sweet. Then the rose steps back and musk appears softly giving a sparkling body to the fragrance. The woods and musk create a sort of leathery atmosphere. I must say this is pretty linear from this point on. Nothing ground breaking, but very well done. Quality ingredients, great presentation and excellent longevity. 12 hours plus on my skin. I think it works any time of the year and on any ocassion. However, it's for mature noses and for rose lovers. I don't think many people will appreciate this perfume. Totally unisex. 9/10. PS: I wouldn't say this is an oud rose combo. There's no enough oud in my opinion.

A very sophisticated and luxurious Rose Oud, this is one of them that stands out from the glut of this combination that prevails in the Oriental market today. The perfume has a brief spicy floral opening where one can detect florals and peppery notes before it moves to a dense heart of beautiful Turkish rose and musk. Finally it dries down to reveal a powdery Oud along with woody powdery notes. The effect is that of dark decadent and elegant sophistication. Moderate in sillage and projection and long lasting this can be classified as a unisex fragrance. Very evocative, sensual and sultry this is a very well kept secret in modern perfumery. Enjoy!

I added it to my wardrobe once it became below $100 It is 90% similar to its sibling Santal Wood, but I find rose version is more fresh & versatile, and both are not suitable for summer, I believe. Performance wise, I wouldn’t recommend the current formulation, both don’t project like 2015’s versions, but longevity still good for 8 hrs or more, you can solve the issue of weak silage by overspray. In the dead winter, I overspray (6 sprays) and spent 1 hr in my way to the office to spend there 2 hrs and leave , then I return back afternoon to find the aroma still in the room. I love the smell & performance is good for $95 price.

A beautiful, approachable, woody rose-oud fragrance. The composition is beautiful, but not overbearing or overly complicated. To me, it is sensual and sexy while still good for daily wear. I love it. The longevity is good, but it doesn't project as intensely as other oudy scents. I could see myself wearing this one in warmer weather, too, as it isn't too heavy. Solidly unisex.

For me this was love at first sniff. Was like nothing I had experienced before. Rose and woody notes blended so well. Oud is noticeable but it's not harsh in any way but compliments the soft and lush scent of a red rose. The lasting power on this is more than average but the sillage is moderate.

This is nothing close to TF Oud Wood on my nose.

Ajmal Rose Wood is another interesting entry, and this marks my third try after Amber Wood and Santal Wood. Like Santal Wood, Rose Wood predictably has rose, but a much healthier helping than in Santal Wood. The rose in Rose Wood comes off sharper, brighter, and fresher, than in Santal. Santal's rose was more medium-bodied but Rose Wood's rose comes off more like rose de mai. The note listing seems to be limited by various sources, but I mostly get a mix of the eponymous rose, sandalwood, oud, and perhaps a spicy touch of pepper. There's also a vague sweetness but overall it's the rose and the spiciness that give the fragrance its warmer color, more apt for cold weather wearing, just like Amber and Santal. It's a nice creation, reasonably safe and agreeable for men and women alike, perhaps the most unisex of the Ajmal Wood line I've tried. At $160 for 100ml (FragranceX), it, like Rose and Santal, is a bit generic and is not quite compelling enough for the price. It's mostly a matter of taste, as there's nothing wrong with the fragrance. Particularly with Santal, the duo is balanced and agreeable, not so sharp or offensive. Still, I'm not dazzled, and it feels like it should be a little less expensive. 7 out of 10

This is very nice, like the majority of Ajmal's "W Series". Putting it simply, this is a classic oriental rose-oud fragrance buttressed by realistic and masculine wood notes. The rose pushes it slightly feminine, but the oud and wood notes bring it back to completely unisex. It is much more elegant, refined, and for me personally, usable as a rose oud fragrance compared to many others, such as the more harsh and unrefined Arabian Oud rose-ouds. 8/10

I’m being followed by a cloud of (beginners) oud, juicy rose, brooding woods and spices as I walk around my house. It’s the woodier version of Rose D’Arabie with a more spicy raisin (currant) note. That same currant (or raisin) note I find in Opium for men. It’s an oriental/Arabian unisex fusion which lasts and lasts and lasts.

#894 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Definitely for women, not unisex, but the rose isn't overwhelming here, it actually improves in the dry down in that regard when it gets woodier and less floral. And it's got some spiciness. So I think it would smell okay on a woman, just not something I'd get her, as I'm not much for rose scents. They remind me, fairly of not, of my grandmother's ghastly 1950 Avon "To a Wild Rose." I don't know who the perfumer on that was but their body should be dug up, an exorcism and cremation performed, and the ashes shot into interstellar space. I can smell some florals besides the rose that smell nice, but I can't identify. Fortunately they didn't sweeten this and add coconut like they do so many of these rose scents for women that makes them nauseating (Maison Oud Khaltaat Rose comes to mind), or dump in some odd fruit (others have mention Amouroud "Midnight Rose", one of the few Amouroud scents I loathe). Overall I think this is relatively inoffensive for a rose scent, and a good quality fragrance, just not my jam.

7/10- Tried and tested combo done really well to be a bottle worthy juice. Oud haters take notice. Rose and Agarwood are the key players of this blend but there are also noticeable amounts of sweet spices with a hint of floral powderiness which altogether results in an incredibly smooth yet "crunchy" sharp scent (thanks to the oud). Contains mild traces of sandalwood by its smell. The rose is dead centered to be unisex and the agarwood used is what agarwood haters might instantly fall in love with, I love the way the scent dries to open some sweet spices that transitions to powderiness which makes the blend fit for a gentleman and lady alike. Great for evenings, one of those opulent fragrances that everybody would love on a well-dressed but more importantly well-mannered person in the room. Decent performance, not shouty.

I don't like to write negative reviews, but I am returning the favor of many negative reviewers who saved me from unpleasant surprises. This perfume comes in a really chic heavy bottle in a leathery box, so great presentation. The smell is Spices and Rose mostly, It has the same exact opening as a much cheaper Ajmal called Ambre Pimente loaded with Cardamom and Pepper, then in a short while it turns to a very faint soapy Rose. Problem is I have never seen a perfume with such a sad lasting power, seriously, I sprayed 10 times and lasting power is about 10 minutes! I am sad that such beautiful notes, great presentation, VERY expensive but has ZERO performance! Sorry if it offends anyone, but please leave it as a warning that this is not a safe blind buy and should be tested on skin first. Note: I was considering Amber Wood as well, but I found a reviewer having the same problem with it!

This is amazing. This smells like you have a mix off all your kitchen spices together in a wooden box/wicker basket with dried rose petals on drop. So this will give you major fall and winter holiday vibes and could even be used in spring because of the added rose to the spices. This is similar to a high quality potpourri but it's not headache inducing and won't trigger your allergies or anything negative like that. Longevity, silage and projection are all medium strength, so not weak but not strong and just perfect in the middle for any occasion. This is going to be in my collection as long as they make it, it really is that good!

A beautiful amber,tonka vanilla scent, the opening is pepery and floral,definetly not a rose oud perfume.The amber accord in on the same direction as Parfums de Marley Oarjan and ASAQ Safari Extreme.The dry down is a rich blend of patchouli,cinamon,tonka,musk and benzoin.On me silage and projection are very good. Smells very luxurious and niche. The presentation is in the lap of luxurious with a heavy black bottle and geometrical cap with a glass Bordeaux red ruby on top,the box is made of heavy hard plastic and I wish they have used recycled paper instead. 100% recomended. All seasons fragrance and unisex.

Skin tested this at a new store which sold decants so I purchased a 10mL. It was nice but reading these reviews below makes me think my nose must be broke. It vanishes from my skin after 20mins. It could be the temperature 🤔, it’s been just a little below freezing. I do like the scent.... But being such a 🌹 lover I need it to be bolder

Absolutely wonderful, has that woody slightly oudy and vanillic quality you get from oud wood but this is denser, a bit spicier and darker with an added rose. Got a solid 8 hour out of it, sits pretty close to the skin but that’s okay with the scent quality and price.

This is montale intense cafe to me! 100%. Maybe a touch less intense, so that one is def. better value for money. Oud is quite present.

The absolute best rose/oud scent. This tops them all! A dark boozy rose that lasts 24 hours on my skin. A gem.
