Vetiver

The first blast is a little sour: a natural-feeling blend of harsh, earthy vetiver combined with dirty patchouli. It is heavy and austere, but warm and spicy at the same time. It also has a very pronounced shaded-green character: more cypress and damp wood. It comes across as a dark woody-oriental, consistently smoky, built around botanical vetiver. The drydown becomes more creamy-sandalwoody-musky, which makes the whole composition easier to wear than the opening suggests. This is something clearly dense and textural, with an orientalized undertone leaning toward an oud-saffron leather in a church-like sacral style. It's also worth noting that this is a very smooth blend: the transitions between phases are fluid, and nothing here sounds forced together. The similarity to Encre Noire is modest and appears rather in the drydown — I think it is about the same chemical accords; maybe that silky cashmere wood with ambroxan or something? A similar ink kind of accord, but buried in a smoky leather, can be smelled in Chapter 5; here I am almost convinced that Ajmal used partly the same ingredients. The Encre Noire and Chapter 5 parallels suggest the overlap sits more in the base materials than in the top profile. Projection is middling. It even seems to me that it gains strength when it sits longer, because the opening is weaker, unlike most perfumes, where it is the other way around. It creates more of a tactile cocoon close to the skin and can come back around in motion. I acquired the remainder of it (somewhere below 10 ml) through a swap for another bottle. At retail prices, I would probably choose the relatively similar Vetiver Oriental if I had to pay such an outrageous price for niche perfume. This time I got lucky in the perfume lottery, because for such a little gem from one of the most renowned Emirates companies, you have to pay dearly. Definitely not as powerful as the other offerings in this line but I don't think it was meant to be. This is some earthy bergomot goodness right here!! Imagine fresh cut grass on a spring day ..... And now imagine that with some heavy sandalwood and the slightest bit of real oud.... With a dash of floral essence just to make it even more earthy. Definitely not for everyone. This is an absolute work of art. You have never smelled anything like this. The vetiver is so real and so fresh smelling. Anyone that has a nose aquianted with quality ingredients will love this one right away. Definitely not a LARGE fragrance.... Silage is about arms length. Better than average. Longevity is fairly average as well (for niche) 7 to 10 hours. You're going to smell the oud and sandalwood a lot longer than the vetiver and bergamot. This line from Ajmal is pure quality. They're not playing around with this line. 8 out of 10. I only rate it an 8 instead of 10 because I'm not a huge vetiver fan.

Nothing like Encre Noire. It has vetiver and ISO E SUPER, yes, but then it also has a wealth of other elements to draw you in. It's a much richer, more complex wear, and the vetiver is incomparable to Encre Noire. This one is woodier and more leathery with the saffron, and has the familiar rich, creamy splash of Ajmal oud.

It is truly a very good and performing perfume. Vetiver with oud are very prominent and the twist of saffron and cypress make it very intriguing. Still being a green scent like walking in a forest. I really like wearing it and it makes an impression on people around.

Literally Lalique Encre Noire. Greener, probably due to the use of natural Indian vetiver, but Ajmal Vetiver is higher quality version of Encre Noire. The same green mellow, moderately woody Vetiver scent. Lightly spicy and has more of an oily texture to it. No perceivable oud. Forget that. At it's price points (~€150), it's overpriced. Howeve, people who are head over heal for Encre Noire should try it. You might find it an upgrade. Cool weather wear, leans masculine. "Like".

Vetiver from the Arab House of Indian origin Ajmal based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is part of the 'Purely Orient' collection, it is a Oriental Woody Aromatic Spicy Unisex perfume. This fragrance was launched in 2019. The heart of this fragrance lies in one of nature's most precious ingredients, Vetiver. Known for its earthy, woody, and smoky notes, Vetiver brings a sense of sophistication and allure to fragrances. The perfume has an opening with light smoky and bitter nuances by an acidic bergamot, whose freshness is harmoniously accentuated by the woody and earthy tones of vetiver; offering a fresh and earthy introduction with a hint of citrus. A delicious concoction that awakens the senses for what is to come. Vibrant and delicious start. At the heart of the composition presents an antagonistic duality with the green woody freshness of cypress and the earthy warmth of patchouli, adding a resinous depth to the fragrance. Some spices are also present, with emphasis on the aromatic sweetness of saffron without a leathery or rubbery appearance. At its base it has a light touch of a very rich Indian 'oud that adds a final touch of sophistication to the fragrance, a musky accord blending with the penetrating woody creaminess of sandalwood create a rich and complex finish, enhancing the fragrance with luxurious woody aromatic layers. Delicately balanced perfume, with a blend of smoked woods and forest tones with oriental spices, makes this composition exquisite, harmonious, pleasurable. It has a construction that goes in the same direction as the classic Encre Noire, but here a more subtle version with more versatility. Delicious perfume with a moderate performance.
