Rise

Rise is a delectable summertime fragrance. Launched in the beginning of September! Go figure.. What brings new to the market in my opinion is that is a tropical floral with strong gourmand facets. It combines the frangipani and tiare flower with pineapple juice, coconut water, pina colada and toffee. A scrumptious cocktail of flavours and tastes. Smooth, creamy and sugary sweet! What I don’t really like about Rise is that it’s more of a soft, close to being a skin scent. Doesn’t project much. Basically a scent with moderate performance sold for a high price point. Dark was a strong performer, Bake is somewhat in the middle but Rise is really lacking in the performance! And from all three of them, Rise is my favourite! Also, I wish they would change the packaging for the future releases, I want something more interesting and colourful. And a bottle with an atomiser that doesn’t leak all over the bottle and inside the tin packaging! Cause this is how my Rise got to me, leaking... And it was perfectly packaged otherwise, so it’s not a shipping issue that caused the leaking. Maybe just switch the cap to something looking more interesting and luxurious. And better quality... Or use some colours for the writing on the bottle... Rise is a summertime tropical scent and just by looking at the bottle nobody would guess that! I can understand that this minimalistic, industrial vibe, dark and gloomy aesthetic might be trending or something, but it doesn’t suit this scent for sure.. Maybe I would love to see from Olivier Cresp more involvement into designing the packaging, going of his French roots more, than the input from his London based daughter and her husband. It’s his own brand and he can to make changes easily if he wants. I would like to see something more exciting and youthful in the packaging because I am starting to lose interest in his brand!

‘Rise’ is sweet, fresh, and the perfect blend of authentic coconut water and a milky piña colada. It is a beachy vibe in the best of ways! I miss some of the pineapple in the top, and it is mostly coconutty, almost lactonic, with a heavy influence of tiare in the opening. At least on my skin, it does not smell lactonic at all on the paper strip, but you still recognise the milky coconut. It feels slightly linear, but the tiare and tropical frangipani plays a larger role when it settles properly down on the skin. Though, I never get much from the toffee nor sandalwood other than an enhancer of the silky-smooth feel of the composition. As for the longevity I will applaud ‘Rise’. A tropical beach scent typically doesn’t last very long on my skin, but this one has some staying power. It is mostly the coconut in company with the tiare, but that really feels like the heart of this scent anyways! As I said, this is giving a beach vibe in the best of ways, a sunbed with an ocean view, saltwater in your hair, fresh fruits and the best piña colada you have ever tasted. I wish I could stay in this scent bubble forever.

The opening of this is SO good. It’s very beachy and tropical, heavy on the coconut and pineapple. However, while so many scents with this profile smell like cheap body spray, this somehow manages to still smell niche quality. As it opens up an intoxicating toffee/ambroxan sweetness comes through. It’s feminine for sure, and quite sexy. I’m not usually a fan of sweet or fruity perfumes but I really like this. Would be great for a holiday.

Tried this on skin today. I got this because I really love a pineaple coconut scent for summer. This is more sun tan sunscreeny on my skin. The first 30 min smelled kinda weird on my skin when my nose got close to where I sprayed but the sillage did not smell weird. At the 5 hour mark it settles very beautifully and it will be a very good smell on top of sunscreen and other body lotion that are more coconut or pineaple scented!

This to me is definitely reminiscent of Guerlain’s Coconut Fizz— without the aquatic notes. Very adult tropical scent. Good sillage and not overly sweet nor very creamy unpleasant. Very lovely to wear during summer days. The tiare flower emerges in the dry down but not overwhelming enough. That’s perfect for my taste. Love it!! Great surprise by Mr. Cresp. Well done Sir!

I see what the reviewer below said about the funk. It does have a funkiness to it in the beginning, like overrripe fruit. However, it does dry down very fruity and you can detect the florals. It definitely screams summery and I’m glad I bought a small bottle for it. This could be good layered with a fuller vanilla or a woody scent this fall.

I love it:) Out of other Akro fragrances this one is very pleasing. I wouldn't say it's very unique, but it smells so nice and so fresh. I can pick up coconut and other tropical fruity notes, but the reason it stands out to me is its freshness. The Rise isn't too sweet. Kind of a good-body-lotion scent.

Fresh, not syrupy, tropical scent. Very bright and airy coconut and pineapple- it smells delightfully summery without being juvenile like so many other tropical fragrances. I do NOT normally like this scent profile, but this is so fresh that I probably need it.. An easy reach during the summer months

A woman who doesn’t tan, she burns through. And when you wake up, she’s already gone. Scent still on your skin, no note on the pillow. And in my head, she looks exactly like Tia Carrere. In her Sydney Fox era. A tide-born siren sunbathing topless on black sand, bronzed and unfazed, giving you that "don’t touch unless I let you" look. She’s the kind of hot that makes tectonic plates shift. 🌋🔥 She wants to show you something new. She doesn’t ask. Just takes your hand and pulls you somewhere far from your all-inclusive. It’s a one-night-only kind of thing, best worn on summer nights, cooler air, slits in dresses, skin showing. It leans feminine, but my younger brother wore it and smelled unreal. Fresher, greener. Like a sly, heat-blooded tropical drifter. The kind girls would chase through a jungle. I don’t even like this genre of perfume. But Rise pulled me in and made me feel sexy as hell. I wore it with a backless dress and didn’t look back. Maybe I was just in a good mood. Maybe I’m really enjoying this vacation. Or maybe she just got to me.

Blind bought it because of the notes straight from the producer. Will take about 5 days to deliver - I will update this comment with my honest thoughts from a 29yo European male. May I have a warmup thumbs up? If I were to draw conclusions just by the notes I’d say 1 Million Parfum (I think there’s gonna be monoï here), maybe some Le Beau Le Parfum, maybe Mancera Holidays... let’s see what it’s gonna be @editt So OK I did not expect that. Everyone saying it’s a 1:1 linear pina colada? They lie. I’m not ever sure that’s a gourmand. There’s pineapple, more like the overripe very sweet one than acidic or tatr (hoped for the latter). It’s not here for long, just an initial sniff - after the opening the aroma is still here but less transparent, more yellow floral exotic. Coconut? Yeah, I guess, but would I pick it up without the notes telling me? Not sure. Don't expect a coconut ice cream, more like coconut water or a freshly opened real coconut. It’s also creamy, but not edible creamy. More body balm or sunscreen creamy - and that’s what you get here. A sunscreen vibe. Expensive one, but still. The mid is full of florals, like, an abundance of. Lots of white florals with that frangipani serving as the yellow before mentioned note. I’d be very surprised if there wasn’t myrtle here. Either it is, or there’s something that gives the very apparent green leafy/bush smell - but my wife doesn't pick it up. You ask me? There’s myrtle reminiscent of, for example, Acqua di Sale. Don’t worry, this isn’t salty. In my opinion (you might disagree) you can quite clearly pick a slightly bitter and artificial aroma of ambroxan here, too. So to summarize: this is a creamy, not gourmand, body balm/sunscreen like aroma of yellow and white florals that in the opening remind me a bit of pineapple for a short time. There’s a green myrtle in the mid and an artificial ambroxan at the base. Far from transparent pina colada and far from a gourmand. A bit disappointed. Definitely a summer vibe (doesn’t even fit autumn IMHO, I’d only wear it June to end of August), if you call it a unisex? That’s a very far end of unisex leaning feminine. A man? Don’t you dare blind buying it. Performance? Hard to judge. Sits close to my skin 30min after application but leaves whiffs when I move for zaboru 2-3. About 5h of longevity (maybe needs to macerate?)

Akro Rise is a 2023 release and a very pleasant tropical vacation/holiday-inspired blend featuring a pina colada prominence of pineapple and coconut water over a floral bed, with a sort of dewy, green quality throughout that makes it seem quite natural, a sort of enhanced pleasantness by the whole blend not feeling too forced or synthetic or excessive in any particular way, Overall, a really nice perfume that does effectively conjure a tropical escape—it’s transportive and fun, and I could very easily see myself wearing it on such an occasion, or pretty much any time, really. Rise feels like a logical companion to other great recent tropical blends, like Day Three Fragrances Bani and RDZ Parfums El Coqui. It performs decently well, also, certainly above average for a more warm-weather-leaning type of blend. Akro is now sold through a number of US retailers, which now recently includes Perfumology, at pricing that I’ve deemed fairly reasonable for years, now $185 for 100ml in EDP concentration, only up slightly from $160 a few years back. 7 out of 10

Reviewing a sample from 2024. Rise was launched in 2023. Rise is a fun fragrance consisting of a medly of sweet and creamy tropical fruit and yellow florals. This opens with a blast of sweet Pina colada/ ripe pineapple, then subtle coconut which comes out more in the dry down . This is followed by soft tropical florals backed by a nice smooth sandalwood. I find the opening a bit sweet but this settles down quickly into a lovely creamy green floral tropical fragrance. Does not come across synthetic. Nicer than I expected from all the negative reviews - I guess it is always best to try fragrances for yourself and not be swayed by overly good or bad hype. Quality- good Unisex Performance- stays close ( I have not tried this is tropical heat where I suspect it will radiate more) ; lasts 3-4hrs Easy to wear lactonic Pina Colada scent perfect for a tropical vacation be it real or imagined. It may give some people connotations of sunscreen which is probably inevitable considering the use of monoi oil ( tiare flower and coconut). 7/10

Akro’s Rise is exactly what you think it's going to be. Whether or not that's a good thing is up to you. There is nothing surprising after the first spray. Yes there is pineapple, but say this is a tropical fragrance and I will say you are stretching your words. This is not fruit forward and instead it is more of a toffee gourmand with a little pineapple on top. Yes the coconut is there as well. It is realistic yet subtle and smells more like girls at the beach than piña colada. My favorite toffee note comes from Italica by Xerjoff because of its buttery characteristics. Very different from Rise. This fragrance makes me think of a Group of young girls trying to make the most out of their last hours at some resort in the Caribbean island. It's fine, but I've had better. It's almost like Rise is amateur hour and we are waiting for the headliner to arrive. One thing I will say. If you like simplicity. If you like something along the lines of Kate Spade’s Live Colorfully this is perfect for you.

The fragrance immediately gains a dewy, aquatic shimmer that softens the fruity exuberance, while a not-so-subtle toffee note add a lush, sugary warmth, reminding me greatly of Happy Dust by Narcotica with its similar delicious, sweet caress amid the tropical fervor. You can definitely detect that whisper of creamy sandalwood grounding the scent, soft woodsy musk providing both enduring solace and a gentle milky undertone. Short, sweet, and vibrantly modern—an ode to endless summer in every spritz.

A nice light citrus perfume. I do get the Womanity reference on the drydown. It's the Sandalwood, and pineapple note which is surprisingly long lasting. It's a perfect summer scent, although not beachy, imo. Even though it has a coconut note, you won't smell it straight up, it's all blended well. Pina Colada? Maybeeee... Since Womanity is discontinued, it might be a nice, albeit, weaker replacement. The longer it's on, the more I like it. Although, the projection is abysmal..not sure it's worth the $$$ since it's such a skin scent. Maybe, if I can find a deal on this. Deffo NOT worth full price. NOTE- I'm not sure where ppl are getting a fish scent. I don't smell fish, lol. I sometimes think humans are so impressionable, someone writes fish, and others will smell it.

I’m surprised the reviews are so negative for this one. I really liked it. I smelled it blind to the notes or scent type and immediately detected sweet pineapple. It’s textured in the sense that it smells like the skin and pulp of the fruit. Other than the strong pineapple, a true coconut water scent comes through. The scent is lightly lined with tropical florals. I’m typically not a fan of too many florals in gourmands, but it doesn’t bother me here whatsoever. I smells like being at a resort drinking a pina colada but there are flowers in the distance you occasionally get a waft of. In my opinion, it doesn’t smell too synthetic for what it is. Tropical scents can be tricky to master and this is a very good interpretation.

Sweet and tropical at first, a little sunscreen-y. But the sweetness fades pretty quickly, and it turns into coconut water. Not a sweet creamy coconut, but a fresh and light watery coconut. There's also a green spiciness at the very bottom. The next day after wearing it I was trying to place the smell, because it's all that's left 16hrs after spraying it. It finally clicked after reading some reviews- it's celery! It's an odd green, spicy, vegetal note that isn't entirely unpleasant. With the initial sweetness, this is a fem-leaning frag. But after 20 minutes of dry-down I would call this unisex. It's nice and summery. It'll be good for the dog days of the Texas summer, because it's not cloyingly sweet.
