Smile

This is such nice combination and the opening really does bring a smile to my face. It's feels almost chilled, like raspberry sorbet. Not too sweet, and the musk is just enough to ensure it is still perfume and not like spilling juice on yourself. Even though the notes are simple, I don't have anything else quite like it. It really does give me a smile :-) I wish it lasted a bit longer. It doesn't disappear immediately on me, but in about 3 hours. Projection is moderate. I am very picky about fruity perfumes. If you like very fresh perfumes, you may like it as much as I do. If you are looking for a fruity gourmand, then you probably won't find it satisfying. Update: I've been picking my decant up more and now looking for a full bottle. Really loving this take. It feels fruity and more modern to me than some other fruity scents due to the crisp feeling, and the sage makes it unique. I think I like it this as a weekend day time scent rather than every day, but I am craving it.

I sprayed this on and ...my goodness, I smiled! An uplifting citrus bomb that brightens up my day! By itself, it's so refreshing..(btw, the notes listed in Fragrantica are totally off. There is lemon, grapefruit and more, if you go to the Akro website). Spray it over Akro's Dark and it becomes the most incredible blend of light & dark...sunshine and a moonless night. A yin and yang... So, out of the Akro sampler, I've purchased Rise, Dark and Smile. And I never expected to buy any...I have a few more samples to go. I think I will save them for next month! Can't afford to buy another one. Don't be afraid to layer Akro perfumes. I think they might be made just for that. They certainly last longer if you do. Another winning combo is layering Dark with Bake. They both are better together than apart. The drydown of these two together is spectacular. Never thought I would be such a fan...a shock to my senses as well as my wallet. 😳

I didn't have high hopes for this fragrance based on a lot of the reviews below, but I sprayed it at my local niche parfumerie and instantly fell in love. I literally smiled when I smelt it. Without hesitation I handed the salesman's my card and out I went, only to immediately rip into the box and spray it all over myself. The whole way home my husband kept sniffing me... Its fresh, sometimes warm, sometimes cool (perhaps the sage), and definitely clean/soapy. It smells like I just took a luxurious bath and am sipping a cup of tea. There aren't any tea notes listed, but I definitely get tea from this fragrance. It smells familiar, but I can't place it anywhere. I honestly don't care about longevity with this specific fragrance, because I'll spray myself a billion times a day if it means I can smell this again. If this were a color, it would be a pastel pinky-purple color.

This is such a lovely citrusy raspberry with a hint of musk to balance it all out. The raspberry is very prominent to my nose. I can’t imagine this scent offending anyone, it’s just pure summer pleasure. It’s very light though and disappears within 4-5 hours. It almost makes me want a full bottle so I can spray to my heart’s content (and I’m not usually an over sprayer!)

This is love for me. Smells very natural and clean with non acidic bergamot and raspberry. Clean in the sense of refinery - nothing overpowering, heavy or noisy. Also, I didn't detect any nasty super ambers here. Stays all day on my hair and clothes.

Its called smile and for sure it makes u smile, very easy wearing and enjoyable... Lovely fresh frag with fruity touches

If Olivier Cresp is behind this perfume, then maybe another masterpiece shall have been created.

lovely unique citrus fragrance

The name fits to a T. I’ve been wading through perfume dumpster lately, the kind of shitty streak that makes you wanna go nose-blind. Nothing but letdowns. Nihilism only bad perfumes can trigger. 💀 Then I sprayed this, and yeah... it actually made me smile. More of a smirk really. Not because it blew my mind, but because it was... nice. Pleasant. Like when a stranger you’ll never see again throws you a smile in passing, a flicker, and then it’s gone. What you get here is citrus and sage in a way that’s less witchy herbal spellbook, more grandma’s Ricola stash. Soothing drops all the way. But no, it doesn’t get medicinal or cough-syrupy. It’s milder, cooler, goes on smooth. Still not my taste. There’s raspberry too, but not the candy kind. More leaf than lollipop, green like it’s been steeped in iced tea with a slice of bergamot floating on top. At first it even leans more like yuzu. The raspberry actually smells natural, which is almost extinct in all the synthetic sludge out there. Nothing shrill, nothing screechy. No Target body spray vibes here. 🎯🚫 Then, out of nowhere, it goes poolside. Swear I caught a whiff of chlorine. Not pool-water up your nose, more like you’re tanning while the janitor’s busy bleaching tiles. A little mineral, almost stony. Makes the whole thing feel cool and detached. Musk in the drydown is soft as wash-warm clothes, a little soapy, a little sweet. It sits close, barely projects at all, but it’s undeniably well-made. Sheer, minimal, weightless. The composition carries bitter flashes, but nothing harsh. It fades into the background quickly, like it doesn’t even want to bother you too much. That’s exactly where Smile stands apart. Akro usually deals in dirty addictions: smoke, whiskey, sweat, nightlife. Grit and hedonism bottled. Smile doesn’t just stand out from the lineup, it feels like it wandered in from another brand. The outlier, the teacher’s pet with a packed lunch among stone-cold party monsters. And sure, the backstory is sweet. Perfume daddy whipped up joy-in-a-bottle for his daughter when she was a kid. Wholesome, heartwarming, whatever. But this isn’t what we come to Akro for. And Smile? It’s not a vice. Unless you count being terminally agreeable as an addiction. It’s fresh, a bit tart at the edges, with a subtle pick-me-up. It makes you feel calm, even carefree. Not juvenile though. It doesn’t smell childish. More like the quiet, shy girl at the party. Which instantly made me think of Needy from Jennifer’s Body. You know, pastel, mousy friend in the corner while Megan Fox’s gorgeous Jennifer drips in blood and lip gloss. 🩸💄 And sure, it smells alright... but who the hell wants to be Needy when you could be Jennifer snacking on boys? Still, I won’t trash a good perfume just because it’s tame. I like to believe my bullying days are behind me. For someone who loves clean, lightweight, almost airy scents, especially in hot weather, this is a gem. It’s safe. Super blind-buy safe. Everyone I’ve seen try it has liked it. My mom, early 50s, gentle nature, hates anything loud or sharp. For her, it would be perfect. But for me? No, thanks. I want the addictions that claw and stain. Smile is cute. And in my book cute doesn’t cut it anymore.

To see people criticizing the name of this fragrance is actually beyond me. ‘Smile’ what an uplifting name for a perfectly uplifting fragrance. The story beyond it is cute, and feels inviting. Imagine being allowed to take part of that intimate and personal moment between a father and a daughter. Thank you. The scent itself is sweet and refreshing. As some have said it do feel a bit soapy, but alas it is just the musk. The fact that this is supposedly raspberry is a bit hard for me to get. I smell something darker and deeper, like a blackberry or a blackcurrant. Maybe that is just how my nose perceives the berry when it is right there next to the citrus. This feels very ageless, even though it is notes I often associate with more juvenile scents. I mean, the sage and bergamot together are something I love. But raspberry have a slight tendency to be too sweet for me if it’s not paired right. And in this it is absolutely stunning, as I said, I perceive it to be quite darker than what it actually is. On my skin it is easy to wear, uplifting, and pairs with whatever chore or occasion. A great alternative for a signature scent if you’re after something clean and sweet and simple. Something I could’ve both gifted my mother, or my niece.

Sampling the most recent release from Akro Fragrances, Smile, from earlier this year, another follow-up freshie to Rise, and a bright fruity floral mix, primarily involving raspberry, bergamot, sage, and musk, though it comes off a little rosy, too. I think it’s perfectly pleasant but does not make quite as much of an impression as Rise, but it does add some diversity to the catalogue as there’s not quite a light fruity fresh option like this in it, otherwise. Certainly worth checking out, quite enjoyable, but not quite as outstanding as a handful of the house’s other fragrances, especially Awake and Bake, my two favorites of the house. As with the rest of the catalogue, Smile is priced at $180 for 100ml, under the $2/ml mark and therefore very reasonable in the current market, I generally say, and it’s sold on the house site as well as via US retailers like Perfumology. 7 out of 10

Really nice! Soft, powdery, and fruity. I’m reminded of apricot instead of raspberry. It’s a perfectly pleasant scent for a church girl-next-door, the type to wear cute dresses, love flowers, never argue with you and always concede. I kind of want to tell her to just speak up already. I like this but it also needs a bit... more. Great for when you want to be sweet without being “too much.” Update: the dry down reminds me of my ALT Good Girl Gone Wild dupe, which explains my thinking it’s apricot. It’s not as tart as ALT, but it’s very similar in nature, and I definitely don’t need both.

Someone below me said soapy... it’s raspberry soap. Very inoffensive leans more feminine. I’m a gentleman who does not follow perfume labels yes it’s feminine but at some point a burst of raspberry takes over and energizes/uplifts it all. It’s very refreshing longevity seems to be there but projection is none existent it’s a skin scent for sure. With that being said it’s done really really well. 7.8/10

Pineapple 🍍 That’s what I get from this scent. A strong pineapple note and a touch of musk if I put my nose right on my skin. Reminds me of a sunscreen I used to wear. Quite sweet. Fairly linear. Slightly juvenile. Sprayed 5 times at different pulse points and it’s still going strong 3.5 hours later. Update: Longevity was actually incredible - I was still catching whiffs of this 8+ hours later.

This one surprised me! I got a travel spray to layer with woodier scents (trying to replicate BoySmells' candle Deeper Well) and didn't expect to like it, but it is incredibly fresh, a photorealistic raspberry iced tea. It is light and skin-like. It is not dense, cloying, or too sweet. I'll likely wait until warmer weather to wear this one out, but I'm absolutely getting a full bottle.

An aromatic citrus musk. Pretty straightforward. Pretty nice. It is clean. I suspect longevity is going to be moderate at best. Will report back if it lasts longer. after a few minutes the fruity note makes itself evident. Mint? I like it. This is playing tricks on my nose. As I move around my home I get shades of Oud rose. Good job Olivier.

Gentle and soft feminine scent. It is simple and pleasant: but what more expect by the smile? :-) First I was a bit dissapointed: it really smells like raspberry soap, nothing else. Later, it makes me grateful for enlightening the day. Small joys are also counted... --- It is a pity the projection and longevity (3 hrs max) aren't better.

Raspberry & sage duo with a bergamot citrusy background really shines out this one, makes you smile as its name. However, the weak longevity makes its value overpriced. I hope in the future, Akro'll come up with a stronger version, maybe add some woody notes so that middle notes can linger around longer. Perfectly unisex.

Fresh berry tea with squeezed lemon. Nice easy wearable composition without any difficult and compound notes. Even though there is no harsh and irritating features in this perfume I would not buy it cause I can barely smell it from me right after applying. Very close to skin and disappear in 30 minutes.

I was nervous that this was going to very sweet and I’m so glad to share it it’s not! It’s fruity, yes, but dry, slightly tart, and not sugary. The mid and base remind me a lot of the ambroxan in JHAG Not a Perfume. It’s musky and subtle and fresh. Big fan.

Bright sweet raspberry citrus. The musk kind of pulls it together and keeps it from crossing into the candy scent category but it is still very sweet and youthful. Nothing special but very likeable.

Nothing special but it actually put a smile on my face when testing it on a blotter. It's the kind of fragrance you put on when you don't know what to wear or just after shower. Lovely.

It's fresh and smooth. Kind of generic, but nice. A good office scent, though it doesn't stay long on skin or clothes and the sillage is weak(it's expected since the scent is light).

If someone likes tea scents, they will like this one too. To me, it smells like green tea – a clean, light, unobtrusive, and delicate fragrance. Perfect for spring and summer.

Love this scent, fresh, clean and so happy but has no longevity

Definitely not my kind of scent. Honestly, I have no idea why I even tried this other than to sample everything from Akro, because I don't even enjoy any of the notes listed here. Still, I'll give credit where credit is due, the musk leans gently soapy rather than the hideous saliva-like note that generally doesn't sit well on my skin. It's okay, it smells like a generally inoffensive soap. Leans feminine, but an older lady type of feminine. I do smell the sage here too, but it's not that prominent. It's like if you took the generally pleasing scent of clean and fresh feminine sephora perfumes and made it into a simple perfume. I can see the appeal. This is actually what I thought Cockatiel by Zoologist would smell like. In reality, Cockatiel smells quite awful. It's downright despicable.Akro Smile gives off much more of a "champagne, powder and raspberry". So if you looked at the notes/scent profile of Cockatiel but have no clue was rhubarb would smell like, please try Akro Smile instead. Please.

This fragrance opens with a sharp burst of citrus, almost like a hint of lemongrass, that’s pretty intense at first. If you’re into that zesty, wake-you-up kind of vibe, the opening will definitely grab your attention. But after a bit, it mellows out and starts to lean more fruity, with the raspberry coming through nicely. It eventually settles into a clean, soapy scent that’s fresh but also kind of familiar. It’s not bad, but it didn’t blow me away. The sillage isn’t anything special, and it tends to fade pretty quickly. Within the first few hours, it’s mostly gone. If you’re looking for something light and fresh that doesn’t stick around too long, this might be up your alley, but it’s not a game changer for me. Update 7/29/26: I do like it. However, it reminds me of the scent of a clean bathroom, and I’m not in the business of smelling air freshener adjacent. I do like the lemongrass, though. It has a very hotel lobby kind of clean.

Smile? I don’t know what anyone smiling about. This is about as dull as it can get with very little character. The only one smiling is the Cresp family as they laugh their way to the bank. _____________________________ Edit: 11/10/24 - perhaps I was a bit harsh in judging this at first. This is a lovely citrus, warm weather fragrance. The fruit note is pretty subtle, but as the temperature heats up, I picked up a brambly green note that raspberries can often have. Not sweet, but tart and herbal. This is a very pleasant high heat fragrance – will never be a huge projector but creates a pleasant mood.

My initial impression was “clean lemon.” It’s a lemony tea-y white musk. The opening is a lovely scent. I found myself unconsciously sniffing it for a lift. Much like Bake, it sits close to the skin. In the dry down, it changes and is very reminiscent of something I wore in the 90s. Clinique Happy maybe? As it dries down, there is an unpleasant artificial note that becomes more prominent & would keep me from buying a full bottle. I stopped wanting to sniff it after about 15 minutes. This was mostly gone after an hour.

Reviewing a sample from 2025.Smile was launched in 2024. Fresh citrus floral scent. This opens with smooth bergamot followed by a quick peak of berry finishing with herbal clary sage wrapped in musk. There is a hint of vanilla although it is not listed. A bit sweet. Quality- average - seems over diluted similar to mass market 2/5 Unisex Performance- stays close, moderate to poor longevity 1/5 Nice but very light fresh scent with poor performance ....completely gone in 30minutes. Disappointing. 5/10

I don't usually get on well with friuit scents, I can smell them on paper but they disappear on my skin. It's the same with smile, started off as a vaguely fruity scent and developed into a faded not much of anything within an hour. Didn't really leave much of an impression, unfortunately.

If you love shampoo scents, I think you'll love this! If I smelled this on someone, I would never think it was a perfume. I'd think their hair must still be wet from the shower. It's cheerful and youthful without being cloyingly sweet. Smells extremely clean and sudsy.

It is cheerful, but as a simple and soapy raspberry citrus with minimal longevity it seems like it would be better as a body spray/mist and certainly not great value at this price.

I don't hate it but it's giving me bbw black raspberry vanilla body mist on my skin.

This is a standard citrus that disappears on my skin. I prefer Akro Bake.

This house has quality control issues. I've had this perfume for 2 months now and just yesterday saw there were tiny particles floating around inside the bottle if I shake it! I took a video and sent it to the company and here's their response: ================================================================= "... it is totally safe and normal. Some brands like us, use natural oils rather than synthetic ones and that’s why you will find fragrance particles inside the bottle." ================================================================= What? Like, WHAT??? It is NOT normal to have sediment in a new perfume after a few months! I've been into perfumes for decades and have never seen any sediment in any of them - even in vintage, let alone new and "natural"! I actually know what the problem probably is - bad quality, lack of quality control in their production. But they obviously prefer to lie about "natural oils causing sediment". I'm changing my opinion about this brand and won't be purchasing any more from them.

Such a lovely uplifting but at the same time calming perfume! For me it's a tea fragrance. I usually stay away from tea fragrances but everybody here was saying it's a raspberry and sage perfume, this was why I decided to try it :-) I'm glad I did. Here's what I smell: a cup of black tea (maybe bergamot tea), watercolor/abstract "berries" and a hint of (white?) rose, the one that you find in the Tea Rose by Perfumer's Workshop. In the dry down it becomes just a little sweet with a tiny hint of fluffy pleasant musk. None of the notes is too strong, they all sing in harmony. Such a gentle fresh perfume and its gentleness makes sense given that it was created by the Master Perfumer for his little daughter. So yeah, I'm sorry for those people who smell a "cleaning product" in this, to be precise - I'm sorry that you felt the need to come here and leave your opinion for others to see.

If a smell of a general-purpose raspberry cleaning spray is supposed to make me smile, mission accomplished. Only it does not make me smile because why on earth would anyone want to smell like this? And with this price tag? I have listened to one or two interviews with Cresp and Anais. My general impression after hearing what they have to say and smelling the whole sample kit is that Akro is more the baby of Anais' creative brain while Olivier Cresp fulfils her visions. HER visions. Any time an influencer mentions Akro online, they talk about how it's Olivier Cresp's brand and so it's right away fantastic. IMHO this is more Anais' brand and the dry downs disappoint in a lot of the scents. This is coming from someone who really is a fan of Cresp's work.

I love the story behind this fragrance, and I love all of the notes listed, so I was very excited about this launch. I like citrus scents, they're energizing and I know their scent molecules are highly volatile, so I don't expect them to last long. That being said, I am disappointed by Smile. I rated the longevity as very weak, even after I did everything right: applying it post-shower while my skin was still warm and moisturizing beforehand. For 100 ml, I would rather spend a little more for Rêverie de Bergamote for a beautiful, moderate-longevity bergamot-focused perfume, or save some money and buy Celeste, the raspberry perfume of my dreams. Sadly, this is a pass for me.

This perfume doesn't really make me smile. It smells like an artificial generic berry lemonade flavored drink that's been watered down, perhaps. It's not tangy, it's not really sweet. I don't get anything herbal. It's harmless, but a yawn to me. Smells unfinished somehow. It does remind me quite a bit of A Girl in Capri, which I own, in that summery, fruity lemonade kind of way, but the Lanvin has more zing, is a tad less flat than Smile. For the price and poor longevity, it's a real miss for me. I like sweet nothing perfumes, easy and inoffensive, but the Lanvin, which at least has more presence, was only $35.

blind bought it based on notes and unfortunately I regret my purchase. It's very flat and faint, I get a bit of raspberry note and bergamot, but it's just flat and uninteresting. No musk and generally it's pretty much gone in one hour. Purchased it from the official website for the record, full price. Rise, Bake and Awake samples I have are at least way more interesting and with much more character. I do not love any of them but I can understand the fans.

Unfortunately. All I get is Sage and static. I haven’t had much luck with the raspberry note that is so popular right now, I haven’t gotten juicy on skin just screechy to me. I think if you like the idea of Sage soap with an air of raspberry this is for you!
