Vanilluxe

Wow. I am surprised at how negative some of these reviews are. Like many other middle-eastern fragrances, I plan to let this mature in a shelf. Upon spraying this the first time, I was pleasantly surprised how nice this smells. I have not smelled the comparison perfumes of the reviews, however I would describe this as a “white vanilla wedding cake smell”. This is fresh, sweet, light, and dries down lightly floral and powdery. For the price point, I will wear this happily. The longevity has been moderate, but I plan to add another layer in a bit.

I always put my hands on everything that has vanilla in it, so of course I purchase a decant from this too. I read it somewhere that it's supposed to be the dupe of Montale Vanilla Cake. I haven't tried that, so I can't compare, my review is based on experiences without those expectations. I'm gonna pass on this brand, because I have the same experiences with their perfumes I tried. They are very artificial creations. This is straight medicinal vanilla right from spraying. No dessert feeling, or a creamy-milky comforting gourmand accord, just this suffocating, cheap sweet pharmacy smell.

I never, ever leave reviews especially negative ones. I never throw away fragrance either. Well, full bottle just tossed into garbage. Same day I received it, after trying my darnest to like it, rewatching the videos, looking up reviews and wanting to influence myself into being able to at least tolerate it. I was so excited to try this on account of being influenced by a well known perfumetok influencer. Super excited because they said this was reminiscent of Jany by Sora Dora and Vanilla Cake by Montale. I figured, I'd buy a bottle of this - overspray the crap out of it and put Jany on top (Jany is expensive, for those who don't know gorgeous Apricot, vanilla, cakey, gooey goodness - just delectable). Not only does this has NOTHING to do with Jany OR Vanilla Cake, not even close - this "perfume" straight up smells like gasoline. I don't know if it's a bad batch or what. It is disgusting, borderline does not feel safe to be put on skin. So synthetic, just horrendous, it almost burns your eyes. Legit like an old/cheap can of hair spray from the 80's mixed with gas.

These houses blend and ship very (immediately) quickly. You will often smell gasoline or rubber or plastic (I smell tires) in them. This is called masceration when they do it before they bottle it. But because you got this for $30 as they made another batch to ship worldwide and another or 5 perfumes probably too, its up to you to either oxidize and let it blend and age it/mascerate it yourself or throw it away. Ive gotten sooo many that I sprayed and thought, thatd smell good if it didnt smell like burning rubber/plastic /gasoline. Thats the smell of the fixative alll perfumes need/use for longevity. Jany mascerated maybe 2 years and youre about to pay for 2 years too, if you so choose to buy it which is your choice to buy it or use this one. Later. Thats the catch here/trade off. Vanillin/Vanilla alone takes 2 years to fully age into its full potential. You ever let your vanilla perfume sit until when when it start to turn darker? Good. Thats what you should do. Thats when it has reached or is reaching full potential. The gasoline/rubber smell will blend out usually within 6 months. I give them all 6 months to blend. I spray 10 sprays out and then leave them in a drawer and use alllll my other perfumes. I once let a vanilla sit for a year to come back to the smoothest most beautiful $22 perfume I ever smelled. Any Vanillin or natural Vanilla based perfume? If it wasnt expensive and mascerated by the house a very long time before it was bottled? No projection. No longevity. Most all are still not mascerated ling enough anyway from this to my designers/lux brands. Plus no rubber notes they only take about 2 minths to blend in. So that is def to be expected you smell rubber and no vanilla in a brand new released batch. No you didnt get a bad batch you got the batch we all got. But like all of us new to Lattafa and Co. dupes/similar style fragrances, you thought the projection longevity and scent were going to always stay exactly what came outta the bottle the day you popped the top. Thats okay. Welcome to the club we have lots of Vanillas here and we all have gotten the gasoline/the rubber/tires/plastic smell. You must let it "mascerate" as they say. Because obviously the house didnt do that or it would never smell like fixative. I know, patience sucks. We want things yesterday. But to throw your perfume away because you dont know this, I hate for you. So just spray it outside if you have to, then put it down and leave it alone and come back later. It will smell amazing. I promise the fixative blends, the vanillas age into beast mode and you will have a lovely fragrance if you simply know why it smells weird like that. All perfume does it when it hasnt been exposed to oxygen and had time to sit - esp one like this with a predominantly vanilla scent (or what will be). Even Burberry Goddess, the most vanilla vanilla from a desiner for over $150, the most vanilla Ive ever smelled NOW was fleeting on me at first THEN, and they def let it mascerate in house before selling. Now? 2 years later? I go easy on the trigger for it because its dark in color now and its very strong and one of my favorite vanillas. Same for Angham. Same even for Mon Guerlain. Even Guerlain isnt mascerating vanilla for 2 entire years before they bottle it up because B I used to wonder why they called it a vanilla perfume. I dont nowŵ. So Ive really tried to go easy on them before I use them. Some people comment that they buy their perfume a season before they know theyll use it so itll be at some potential before they use it when they plan to. I hope this helps!

Absolute rancid trash. I don’t rate the quality of Al Absar; bar the only one I have left on my collection- I’ve decluttered the rest. Then to have the audacity to say publicly this is being reformulated within like a month of me receiving it, but offering no recompense or recourse to all those who purchased the awful version is just poor customer service of the highest level. I don’t give my ££ to those type of companies. Smells like off milk, acetone & a weird artificial almond - the kind of weird smell like when they scent poison or dangerous chemicals to make them smell acceptable. Nonsense
