Eshal Vanilla

This perfume is delectable. Such a rich, slightly spiced, mouth watering vanilla. The kind that makes my eyes drift closed when I first spray it, and makes me want to overspray it all over myself and bathe in it. I've been searching for a long time for a vanilla that's warm and sweet without making me smell like a cookie or cupcake, and I think I've just about found it. My only complaint is that like a lot of ME perfumes, I find that sometimes I get a whiff of camphor-bugspray-spice underneath the heavenly vanilla...It might be a bit of oud that isn't listed in the notes. Thankfully it only happens occasionally (like every other time I wear it, and only for a few minutes, then it's gone). For the price and the rest of the smell, I'm willing to live with it. This smells exactly like Elysia Vanilla to me (the one that's almost purple). I have a decant of both, and they both smell intoxicatingly sweet and vanilla-y with the slightest hint of spices to keep things layered and interesting (unfortunately, those spices sometimes turn slightly bugspray-y in both of them too). I'm buying a FB of Eshal Vanilla for $40, whereas Elysia Vanilla is listed at the more attractive price of $25...except that it's out of stock everywhere. Additionally, the juice in Elysia Vanilla is a dark purple, and therefore stains clothes. Since I like the performance of perfumes on clothes better than skin, that's a problem for me. Eshal Vanilla (at least in my decant) is a very pale yellow, so no stain risk. I don't know if it will darken with time though, as a lot of vanilla perfumes do. I would say if you have one you don't need the other, but which one you get depends on whether you care about staining potential, price, and immediate availability. Longevity: Eternal on clothes. No joke, I can smell this on sweaters for over a week, until I wash them. Divine. Sillage: Projects about a foot, but that's because I only do one spray. Pretty standard performance compared to my other perfumes. Disclaimer: I'm testing a decant in a 5ml bottle, so I don't know how long the original bottle matured before it got to me. I typically only spray once, and small decant bottles spray less than a full bottle's atomizer, so my longevity and sillage experiences will differ from yours. Edit: I went back and bought a full bottle. I don't normally factor bottles or packaging into my reviews because what I care about most is how a perfume smells, but I just have to say wow, the presentation of this perfume is gorgeous (better than my $400+ bottles of PDM!). The thick, gold-embossed box folds open like a hardcover book, and nestled inside the padded foam cutout is a silky handkerchief elegantly decorated with vanilla bean orchids and the most beautiful perfume bottle in my collection. The bottle is heavy, golden glass with a collar of intricately patterned gold, like an African queen. The diamond-cut gold design covers the neck of the bottle and continues up onto the cap, which is topped by a large black (plastic) gem. It's a bottle that fits the vibe of the juice inside perfectly; elegant, luxurious, seductive, and mesmerizing with hidden depths. Between the presentation and the juice inside, this would make a stunning gift (and will look like you spent way more than its $40 price tag!) This new bottle is much more oud-forward than my decant, which unfortunately to my nose reads as very camphor/incense heavy and overpowers the vanilla, so I'm going to let it rest and mature for a while. However, I've also been detecting that note in my decant recently, so it's not just a matter of aging the juice. Any sort of heat (weather or body heat) brings out that camphor note unfortunately.

I rarely find the note pyramids in here to be extremely inaccurate, but in this case, they feel quite off from the actual experience. If you blind bought this, thinking it would be a simple gourmand vanilla, you were probably disappointed. The V28 DNA isn't a "vanilla frosting body mist" type of fragrance - it's vanilla perfume. It's meant to be more complex, more nuanced. Quite a floral, boozy, grounded vanilla DNA. Eshal Vanilla even more so, than V28 and Elysia Vanilla, which I think is what makes this stand out as a more grown up or "mature" vanilla (I'm in my early 30s and find it to be perfectly fine). Significantly better performance than the others, but also more potent. Despite being a pale-ass Scandinavian, and rather immature for my age, I've found this particular DNA to be my PERFECT signature vanilla. It stands out as one of extremely few vanillas that doesn't go flat, alcoholic or otherwise unbalanced on my skin. Yes, there is definitely patchouli going on in this DNA, and Eshal Vanilla is the most patchouli forward out of the three, imo. Tbh, there's few notes I dread more than patchouli. On white people, it usually gives either new age or old lady. However, the V28 DNA has me fully convinced that patchouli + ambery, musky vanilla is actually olfactorially genius. It adds a sort of boozy groundedness that I find extremely attractive. Despite being more complex and nuanced than a vanilla body mist, this DNA is actually surprisingly verstatile. It's sweet, rich, floral, grounded, even slightly spicy - but balanced. So, if you blind bought this (or any other V28 kind of fragrance) and find it to be too mature or dark -FRET NOT, MY FRIEND. Here's what we're gonna do: To add lightness, youth, modernity: add a sweet, clean musk, and/or Iso E Super (Molecule 01, JHAG etc). My personal favorites are Al Rehab White Musk oil, Clean Reserve Skin, Musk 12, Mod Vanilla, Molecule 01. More edible vanilla: add a basic-ass gourmand layer. Vanilla body lotion, body mist, whatever. Mod Vanilla works really well here as well. Bonus wombo combo for more seductive spice/nighttime/dark autumn vibes: Omg, Khamra all the way. Or similar fragrances, sweet and spicy. Seriously seductive. Signature worthy nighttime fragrance. Last note: Eshal Vanilla is the most unisex out of the three, imo. Would probably be gorgeous and seductive on a man as well.

A fantastic, spot on dupe of Kayali Vanilla 28. I own(ed) a bottle of it, and did not use all of it due to the overpowering pepper notes in it. It's a very dry intense vanilla, with disappointing projection and longevity. Eshal vanilla is my newest vanilla, I liked Kayali 28 but again, it was just too peppery for my liking. I prefer creamier vanillas. I got this after reading the reviews saying it was just that. After first spray it was definitely the alcohol hit that you get with a newer bottle. I sprayed it a bit outside and then on myself. Only once. I realized almost immediately it was a 98% likeness to 28. The differences are minimal and in my opinion, make it better. You still get the pepper, but not as intense. It's quite present in the first few minutes of wear. After about an hour it turns, it goes more vanillic and creamy. Even my husband sniffed it and said "very creamy" but not so much that it takes away from the core notes. This to me is something a woman in a power suit with a LV bag and a High pony would wear to an evening meeting. A man could definitely wear this as well to soften a more intense fragrance. My husband will probably layer it with his Khadlaj Vanilla Dunes. This is definitely second bottle worthy. I cannot wait for it to sit and get better with time. I'm personally going to layer it with fire at will by javoy, or a fruity/floral fragrance for the spring to give it a bit more of a mature spin for anything that's more sweet and childish. Longevity - seems to be really good, I'd say 6 or more hours on clothes, 4 or more on skin. Projection - creates a nice scent bubble, I'd say a little more than an arms length. Overall I'd give this a 9/10.

Ok so, I like it, but not LOVE. I agree with iliana because there's gotta be patchouli in this! Either that or the rose and musk must be mixing and creating a scent that's giving me patchouli. Its very very strong, and the closer to where I sprayed I smell, the stronger it is. It's unfortunate because the bubble it creates is lovely vanilla with just a hint of the patch or musk or whatever is quite nice. It would just be much much better if that part didn't smell so damn loud. I think the search for the perfect vanilla continues! I'll wear this, but if I find a better vanilla will most likely destash. ETA only a few weeks later and the vanilla got stronger and smoother. It's soooo nice now, and closer to vanilla 28. It's also spot on for Vanilla Addiction the other Kayali dupe. You really only need one of these, and I think Eshal is the strongest. There's only slight differences in the vanilla between the 3, but its miniscule. Vanilla Addiction is a close second in strength and sillage though, you can go wrong with this or that one. Kayali however doesn't last on me AT ALL, which is on par which all of their perfumes. Yum bougie marshmallow was such a beautiful disappointment 😞

I just received this perfume and it’s my first one from Paris Corner. I’ll let it rest for a few weeks before I jump to any conclusions, but so far I really like it. The opening is a bit alcohol-y, but that evaporates quickly. The jump from sugar notes to vanilla and caramel is pretty steep - I could faintly smell some and jasmine, but not much. As vanilla in its every way, shape or form is my favourite perfume scent profile, I can’t see myself anything but loving this perfume, especially with time and maturation/maceration. I’m sure I’m going to enjoy Eshal Vanilla in colder months, we shall see am I going to love it when temperatures start rising, but if everything fails, it will at least serve as a wonderful layering scent for other perfumes and/or bedtime scent. It reminds me of Eclaire, another perfume I love wearing in winter and one of my most-used perfumes in recent months. The only difference is that Eshal’s vanilla note comes on surface sooner and stays for longer (is more prominent), whereas Eclaire leans more caramel-y in dry down and that note is more distinct than vanilla. If you liked Eclaire, I’m pretty sure you’d like Eshal, too.
