Loren

#1457 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Got this as a decant. I was actually expecting something like Aquolina "Pink Sugar", a scent I gave to a friend's nine year old daughter for her birthday (she invited me to her birthday party, and her parents were giving me that, "Please say yes!" look, so I kinda had to go). It was a big hit with her and all her nine year old friends who thought a perfume with cotton candy was really cool. But if you're expecting, as I was, for this scent to come across like a candy shop, it really doesn't at all. This is somewhat similar to Ford "Tuscan Leather", leaning more Kilian "Intoxicated", and almost a dead ringer for Hamidi "Maison Luxe Elixir" (a Tuscan Leather similar that was previously being sold under the Armaf label). One difference is this "Loren" scent has no domineering raspberry note, which I appreciate. Still, Maison Luxe is a $22 scent from Jomashop and FragranceNet. Tuscany Leather, La Yuqawam, all the Tuscan Leather clones overdo the raspberry note. The quality with this Loren scent is better than the $25 and under Tuscan Leather clones for sure. And this is more leather, less fruity. So my verdict is this is better and more wearable than all the cheap Tuscan Leather clones, though I would still say if you have one of the better ones like Rasasi "La Yuqawam" this gives you nothing totally new, and it goes for $95, not $25 and under, so there's that to consider. Car pool, elevator and small office safe and masculine leaning unisex. Casual and date wear for sure. Fine for the office, though a fougere is always my suit and tie preference. Nice scent. Not sure if this ends up on my shelf or a girlfriend's. We shall see.

i couldnt smell the leather neither the musk which i think couldve balanced out the sweetness a lot,thats why i think its a rather feminine perfume. It could work with more layering but it smells overpoweringly sweet, not a safe blind buy! it is rather powdery than sharp. The quality is okay, its not like those cheap zara fragrances. I have to admit the cotton candy is a bit more synthetic smelling than i would like it. its a strong fragrance and projects for sure

Meh. This one just doesn’t resonate with me. There is a smoky accord in here that just doesn’t match the rest of the notes. I think this smells like synthetic cigar smoke mixed with sweet and fruity elements. These notes clash and this has a very synthetic feel to me. After a time peaches and cigar smoke. The smoke element is reminiscent of commercial grade insecticide. The peach note is what ruins this for me. Two hours in and this is beginning to fade. Thank god.

Loren smells really complex, contrasting and interesting. It smells like fruity apricot, fruity peach, a little bit of fruity forest fruits for depth, sweet cotton candy, smoky leather, aromatic olibanum. All these notes blend beautifully together, it's hard to smell them individually. They are very different and though this contrast you get a complex fragrance. Loren by Al Ambra successfully avoids being a predictable gourmand. The leather note is very subtle, not bitter at all, more like a smoke that smells like leather.

blind buy. on first sniff, i only smelled leather. like as in BUS SEATS. i’m going to let sis sit awhile and get right with God or whatever she gotta do before i come back to her... ‘cause when i do, she needs to have it together. i want every cotton candy, fruit, lily, and musk that the devil done stole from me this night. and he can have his leather back. 😡
