Black Musk

This perfume is great and I've been waiting for it to be added to the database, it carries on the same DNA as Oud for Greatness and the likes of it, and by far, it is my favourite of all perfumes within this scent DNA. You start with some saffron, gorgeous white musk, patchouli, lavender and Oud in the background, and it stays pretty close to this profile until it fully dries down and turns into a thick, musky, saffron/patchouli oud type fragrance which is extremely pleasant to the nose. This smells similar to Oud for Greatness, Oud for Glory, Supremacy in Oud, Oudh Adam etc. yet in my opinion this is by far the best out of all of these, an absolute masterpiece amongst elite perfumes. So smoothly blended it is unreal. On clothes it stays forever but on skin I'd say it lasts approximately 8h, with good (arm-length) projection. This perfume is clearly high in concentration despite being labelled as EDP because when you spray it on your skin you see a lot of the perfume oil, also this perfume has no harsh alcohol opening at all, just straight up fragrance. Far superior to oud for glory in terms of nailing the initio dna, and then some. Between the two, lattafa comes off very muddy and sythentic but this, upon first spray, you distinctly pinpoint the notes. Slightly dusty, sparkly, pathouli/oud/lavendar opening. Very soothing, warm, sauna style fragrance. Great experience.

With clean musk (neither floral nor aromatic) being the most prominent note you'll smell, lavender and earthy patchouli tie for second place, and hints of nutmeg, saffron, and agarwood make their appearances. Yes this takes inspiration from Oud for Greatness, but the expression is 60% musky in nature, as its name suggests. Although it has a rather masculine DNA, the clean musk + lavender combination with earthy patchouli + dry agarwood tilts the angle to unisex. My favourite so far in the Musk collection, a strong like for the books.

I do not know why I bought this. It is very strong, masculine, woody, musky and dark. I sprayed it on my shirt in the car after buying this, just one spray, and I got headache. It filled the room so intensely that I had to open the windows to keep driving. I never used it after that. Waiting for maceration. It is clearly a winter perfume. Do not dare to use it in office or enclosed room environment. Definitely never ever overspray it, 2~3 spray is more than enough.

a masculine, oriental-leaning fragrance with a prominent nutmeg opening transitions into a patchouli oud combo- very similar to oud for greatness. It’s solid and masculine but not particularly special. 5.5/10
