The saffron note is definitely the star of the show, but it's balanced out perfectly by the other spices and woods. I get a hint of incense and oud in the base, which adds to the overall richness and depth. The overall effect is warm, inviting, and slightly exotic. I love wearing this to work because it's not too overpowering, but it still gets me compliments. While Safran Royal Versace has the quality and unique character of a niche fragrance, it thankfully hasn't been hyped to the point of being overpriced or impossible to find. It's a great option for those looking to explore the world of niche perfumery without breaking the bank. Somehow this smells really soft, floral, almost bubblegum sweet like, hint of warm spiciness and a touch of leather on my skin. I was completely stunned by this and doubled back to the bottle that I sprayed to make sure that it was in fact, Safran Royal that I sprayed... and it was! Very very surprised at how much I liked this but as I said, this is completely different on my skin from what it is advertised as by either other comments so I somehow feel I've been lied to. Looking at somewhere to get a sample of this as well so just so I can make sure that it was actually the same scent, and if it turns out to be the same, I might look into getting a bottle of it.

Oh my word, oh my goody goody goodness. What a fragrance. Lotte is decidedly in love with this masterful creation of saffron, patchouli, musk, sandalwood, leather and I'm sure that there are so much more! It is strong, has presence, depth and is just gorgeous. My word, calling all patchouli lovers to congregate and test this fragrance. It is my favourite so far as I have so tested, in this Versace niche line. That's all.

The opening is a chinese buffets soy sauce that's been refilled for a few years, and lightly wiped down with a towel drenched in pink handsoap. Leathery elegant saffron, something a distinguished older woman would wear, the dry down is great tho it smells like a mixture of light leather base with herbs and flower softly covering the base notes. Not sure if its the bottles color and placebo, but it reminds me of an Arabic raisin drink my best friend would share with me. ( Trabi raisin soda). Brings back memories to that time in my life: I love reminiscing of the moment we played tennis and he popped the cap on the soda, the first sip tasted how this smells, and for that this gets a 7/10.

In addition to saffron, Safran Royal by Atelier Versace has a mix of valuable notes, resulting in an inconspicuous sweet-oriental potpourri. If you find common oud-saffron scents too strong because they lack a hint of feminine sensuality, you could like this fragrance. Fragrance: 8/10, Longevity: 8/10, Sillage: 7/10, Flacon: 10/10.
