Somehow this smells really soft, floral, almost bubblegum sweet like, hint of warm spiciness and a touch of leather on my skin. I was completely stunned by this and doubled back to the bottle that I sprayed to make sure that it was in fact, Safran Royal that I sprayed... and it was! Very very surprised at how much I liked this but as I said, this is completely different on my skin from what it is advertised as by either other comments so I somehow feel I've been lied to. Looking at somewhere to get a sample of this as well so just so I can make sure that it was actually the same scent, and if it turns out to be the same, I might look into getting a bottle of it.

Oh my word, oh my goody goody goodness. What a fragrance. Lotte is decidedly in love with this masterful creation of saffron, patchouli, musk, sandalwood, leather and I'm sure that there are so much more! It is strong, has presence, depth and is just gorgeous. My word, calling all patchouli lovers to congregate and test this fragrance. It is my favourite so far as I have so tested, in this Versace niche line. That's all.

The opening is a chinese buffets soy sauce that's been refilled for a few years, and lightly wiped down with a towel drenched in pink handsoap. Leathery elegant saffron, something a distinguished older woman would wear, the dry down is great tho it smells like a mixture of light leather base with herbs and flower softly covering the base notes. Not sure if its the bottles color and placebo, but it reminds me of an Arabic raisin drink my best friend would share with me. ( Trabi raisin soda). Brings back memories to that time in my life: I love reminiscing of the moment we played tennis and he popped the cap on the soda, the first sip tasted how this smells, and for that this gets a 7/10.

In addition to saffron, Safran Royal by Atelier Versace has a mix of valuable notes, resulting in an inconspicuous sweet-oriental potpourri. If you find common oud-saffron scents too strong because they lack a hint of feminine sensuality, you could like this fragrance. Fragrance: 8/10, Longevity: 8/10, Sillage: 7/10, Flacon: 10/10.

The style is very Middle-Eastern to my surprise. Thankfully it isn't so packed with "saffron" that all you end up with is a nose piercingly dry, spicy, & bitter leather—it's mostly a spicy floral amber that's too fruity for its own good (to please the masses) which showed promise at first.

It takes a certain kind of character to pull this fragrance off. It’s one of the most commanding and masculine scents I’ve smelled. Not sweet at all, just pure leathery saffron with touches of patchouli. Admittedly it’s very well executed and smells expensive.

Weirdly enough it's sweet as pastries on me, I didn't expect this from a safran based composition, especially with the notes listed here..

This one was a scrubber for me. Even then it wouldn't come off. Leathery but in an old lady way. Lots of geraniol and very dry. Not a very pleasant experience to my nose.

You know what? Sometimes you've just got to laugh.

it was not even close to what i imagined it would be, is it regal? yes. does it smell good? ummm, yeah i guess is it suitable to an non ac enviroment? deifnetly not. and i imagined this scent as a universal luxirious scent with clean saffron but i was wrong. it has hefty amounts of density leading to a sensory overload and definetly will cloy unless its outdoors. really high ingridient quality but the composition fails imo to create a scent that makes you feral and want to smell more and more. i think i see this frag specifically on 30+ women that dress more in a formal way sipping coffee in a luxurious suite or something. hard to love easy to like

Incredible!!!! Tried Santal Boise (not a fan) and own Gingembre Pétillant, this one is by far the best and I LOVE Gingembre Pétillant. Safran royal and Gingembre Pétillant are a must. This is dark yet fresh , slightly smokey leathery saffron scent. Reminds me of black aoud from montale but fresher. Smells nothing like oud satin mood which is strong on the rose and extremely jammy. This smells like when you spray oud satin mood and shower and ur left with that most incredible dry down that you wish you had as a perfume. Oud satin mood is wayyy tooo sweet, this is fresh woodsy dry.

Amberic salty sweet saffron... Intense saffron with sweet amber. I do sense some floral within like a candy floral but mixed with bits of patchouli. I get allt as well of wormwood, and cypriol on the drydown. Basically, it is salty amber, saffron, and woody sweet floral.

Safran Royal, by Versace, smells like leather, patchouli, saffron and a hint of peony. It smells mostly of leather and patchouli, a heavy, strong scent.
