love love love. i'm just so crazy over this fragrance. probably my greatest blind buy.combine all the notes stated altogether and no other designer fragrance can match this. madinah is not a typical crowd pleaser or something you have smelt before. sometimes i combine this with another al-haramain's fragrance which is oudi for an exquisite smell just like how a niche middle eastern fragrance smells like. i apply madinah on my clothes and it last more than a week coz i just left my clothes in my laundry basket and i can still smell it. what a great longevity. it does have an excellent sillage too. one day i went to my office and i smell the fragrance i wore the previous day which is madinah. i was amazed at the performance.some designer fragrance can be disappointing sometimes. however, this is suitable for mature women. i don't think younger crowd will appreciate this. you can wear this anytime at any kind of climate. works well in hot weather too. if you're just starting to get into niche fragrance, this would be a great first niche fragrance coz al-haramain is a niche brand too and the price is a steal. anyway i got this for a cheap price too, which is MYR 20.

I normally don't swoon over such "airy" fragrances (normally I like very-heavy, resinous and balsamic scents), but Madinah is simply exceptional! Citrus peel and petitgrain, white pepper, a gorgeous, "cool-toned" floral accord centered on taif rose with carnation, orchid, and maybe a wee touch of jasmine...and then a tea-like, herbal note weaves in and out like a filigree'd vine amongst the blooms... it's like a painting upon a canvas of clean musk, sandalwood, orris, and a supersonic combo of iso e and camphor, opening the nostrils. But the blending is very smooth... as they say: "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts", and this is very true here. The overall effect- for a middle-eastern attar- is quite ethereal and "gauze-like"... a spring breeze... or starlight. I like it VERY much, and have no problems as a man pulling this one off as it is so sparkling, yet restrained, and elegant! Longevity is 24+h on my skin, and over a week on clothing sitting in the laundry. EDIT: Madinah is becoming one of my favorites of this line- so unique and beautiful- and I receive compliments every time I wear it. Absolutely gorgeous!

The rose in this reminds me of the realistic rose in Rose of no man’s land by Byredo, except this is a tad softer. It also reminds me of Roses musk by Montale but my skin chemistry has a bad reaction to the musk in that one, so this is way better and smoother in my opinion. This starts off very citrusy and for a moment I was a bit scared it would be just like Roses musk on me but the citrusy faded quickly and the sandalwood made it so smooth. What a beautiful realistic yet smooth rose scent. Perfect for spring and summer. My only complaint is that I wished it projected more, as this has a very intimate silage on me but then again that just makes it more versatile in terms of occasions it would be suitable to wear. I might try to mix it with my sent free lotion and then a little overspray magic to see if that gives me a little more projection. It usually does the trick. Nevertheless, this smells way more expensive - high end than it is. Absolutely beautiful.

Very pleasant surprise. I hadn't planned to get this since I already have Al Rehab Musk al Madinah which some people say is similar. However I tested it in a local shop out of curiosity. BTW I am not sure since when the box has changed but mine has the geometric green floral design rather than the mosque picture on the box. This is a crowdpleaser and should not upset Western noses, even less than the Al Rehab one (which possibly has a little bit of oud in it, not sure). The very first moments bring a burst of freshness that borders on aquatic but fear not, it quickles settles down into crispy clean freshness, for me definitely more on the female side (at least in classical terms). Low to medium sillage, but good longevity. I would assume great for layering too. If you are a lady who likes Al Rehab Silver but find it too masculine you should give this scent a try!

Cheapie that is very pleasant. Soft rose, soft floral. In offensive, while projecting nicely and leaving a calming scent trail. sometimes Rose can smell a bit grandmotherly or obnoxious... But this does not do that. this is very pleasant and soft without being too in your face and it lasts quite a while, on me, about six hours. Skin sent for another 10 to 12 hours. Really impressed with this blind by. Yes, I think it does lean a touch more feminine, but a man with claws and confidence can pull it off, but it doesn’t require too much confidence. Just to cut above the rest. Probably not for the young crowd. Not juicy or sweet enough. While it is still softly juicy and faintly sweet. I’m just really impressed with this.

This little gem intrigued me. A little secret adorably packed in a "cigarette box", so unassuming, cheap yet shares attributes with expensive perfumes. As for the scent, it's a beautiful rose. An alluring one, cool toned, elegant, a rose with restraint, soft, sophisticated and comforting all at the same time. There's a touch of powder and incense and santal wood tones coming though. This perfume spells poetry and charm, it's like an intricate rosy veil that makes you feel luxurious and confident. Mesmerising. Romantic. Simply beautiful. Definitely unisex.

This is one of the best discoveries to date! Rich deep dark scarlet rose with a bit of camporous aoud on top- absolutely divine! If I had paid $100 I wouldn’t be sad because this fragrance is beautiful... but it was less than $10! Incredible! As had been noted, there’s not a lot of projection but that’s totally fine with me because that means I can wear it everywhere without offending anyone! There’s also potential for layering with this fragrance. So so happy to have stumbled upon this- if you love rose you MUST add this to your collection!

I wouldn't consider myself a rose lover before Madinah, but this attar displays rose in all its glory. Fresh, slightly green rose in the opening that blooms majestically, and surprises you with its development in the dry down. It is so opulent and can rise to any occasion. It leaves a scent trail and it is fairly potent. Applying tiny bit on your pulse points and maybe some on your hair will create an intimate scent cloud that will uplift you throughout the day.

Floral and clean, smooth, lasts a good 10hrs on me, longer if I mix it in my lotion. It's one of the few "clean" scents I have that doesn't require over spraying. Light, airy, and pretty but enough complexity to wear any season or time of day. Personally I feel like it's got a "rumpled clean sheets and morning sunshine" sort of sensuality. I adore this fragrance and will be buying a second bottle soon as I've nearly finished the first.

Beautiful fresh, soft rose. Light and clean, but not soapy. I feel it highlights the natural beauty and sweetness of roses, no sugar or anything artificial. I'm not a fan of rose fragrances for myself so I don't really wear it, but I love to have a whiff once in a while. If I leave the cap open, the whole room smells gorgeous. It's my preschooler's favorite, and I love it on him too. It's such an innocent and uplifting scent.

The immediate opening is tart citrus pith followed by creamy wood notes and some incense-like spice. On my skin the rose really blooms and makes this just heavenly! After a few minutes I pick up a sweet leather or suede note, something like a nice handbag or gloves. It just keeps getting better and better. There is a LOT of bang for my 10 dollar buck right here. Perfect warm weather fragrance.

This is a great affordable OG Oud. This is what I smell as I’m walking around in the malls of the Middle East. I feel it’s best when layered with something that has a little more of a punch. This is smooth and floral but I like to layer it with either a little more wood or leather. It helps me soften my Arabian Leather (TF Tuscan Leather) because that by itself is a little too much for me.

It's so good OMG! I have both the oil and edp and as a nurse I'm able to wear it to work and I get so many compliments. It's just a beautiful, soft, young modern rose done right and the price! Priceless for the quality. It last really long to cause I work only 12 hours shift and I'm receiving compliments at the end of my work day. It just wraps itself around you!

One of the best oils i have in my collection! It's just wonderful!! The longevity of this masterpiece is out of this world. I applied it at 8:00 in the morning, on my beard and my wrists and after more than 12 hours it is still here, i can smell it very clearly even now when i'm writing this review. Well done, Al Haramain!!

This was a blind buy but if you’re a fan of Arab rose perfume then this will never be a miss. I got the oil and have layered it with the oil Oud Fazza to put the rose in beast mode, and I find the combination projects well. A beautiful floral blend that’s clean and incredible for the price point. I’m in love!

I wore it today... Oh my.. This scent is very beautiful.. I dont like it.. I love it.. I bought it for rm20 and its totally worth it... I recommend to all of you for those like sweet smells... I become hunger for more of this perfume.. Congratulation to al haramain for making the best perfume since 1970...

One of my favorite fragrances. Strong at first note then slightly soft and very nice to smell.. pure perfume.. long lasting.. more then 24h.. It suitable for man also for women. but for woman I prefer Sandra by Al-Rehab.. Very2 sweet and feminine.. You will be bitten by man... Trust me... :p

i thought i have the best rose scent with lyric but this beats all rose fragrances out there. and for the price. it is really a steal, almost illogical how a perfume this cheap can smell so nice! this and oudy will be in my arsenal for a long time

This is a glorious luscious pink dewy rose. It lasts for ages and projects so well. It’s fresh and clean and innocent but not light, it’s very present. An outstanding value, as it smells far more expensive than it is.

Received my perfume today!! this is my first encounter with this style of perfume! Im sooo thrilled ! its lovely ! absolutely divine! It was a blind buy after all the reviews here! Im ready to buy the full size!

This is very much a flowerbomb a glorious glorious flowerbomb with none of the cop out vanilla base you find in a lot of them. It's beautifully crafted and others have said, smells very expensive.

After reading other reviews, I really must agree: this is a spiritual, transcendent rose... like love in its very-purest form, untainted by the primal urges of lust and possession.

Trust me or not this is an unexplored master piece. Powerfull sillage projection smells like something expensive...wont put you a headache....soothes your divine side..

Madinah is very very verrry interesting. It doesn’t care to be sweet, to openly please, to sound like a specific zeitgeist. It’s the smell we can find at a 80/90s grandma’s country retreat, in a fancy funeral home, in an upper scale department store, it doesn’t belong yet makes you feel something and grabs a silent attention. It opened heavy on alcohol, I was so disappointed. After openly ignoring it, I discarded it as a bedsheet perfume, which is still honorable but nothing more that just giving a fresh twist to linen. And in that moment the magic started: I started walking around, doing my chores, work, errands, and found myself sniffing the air of the lovely smelling stranger near me. But it wasn’t a stranger, it was me, like after sleeping on a bouquet of red roses ready to be gifted to a mistress. It stuck so much on the back on my head, on the night bonnet and scrunchies, behind shoulders, the back of the thighs. When I was a little kid, I was forced to attend summer activities with the local church (catholic) and found it very boring and shoving religious concept too deep into our young throats. I don’t remember a lot of fun times, but once a nun randomly told me that when you walk on the street and suddenly smell like your passed near some roses, without roses in sight, that was the presence of the Virgin Mary near you. I’ve been yeah like whatever for 35 years, then accidentally became my own Virgin Mary down the street. Yay!

An accidental Home Run. Tried this out at a Middle Eastern Insence Shop in the Italian Market section of Philly of all places. Being an oil, you don’t get a real idea of what is going on right away. I stepped out of the shop on a crisp November afternoon and in about 10 minutes... magic. The entire world filled with roses. Perfect, wonderful, 3D roses. Not sour. Not bitter. Not sweet. Just mild, realistic, natural roses over mild sandlewood. I have been searching for a natural rose fragrance that a guy can pull off for... like... ever! I walked right back to the shop, paid my $8 for a cigarette box containing a 15ml roll on, and drove home waiting for the scent to “turn” because it just COULDN’T be this nice. 4 hours later the scent lost some focus as the 3D effect disappeared and the fragrance went to skin as a pleasant, slightly (but only slightly) feminine saffrony floral. At hour six, it’s more woody and still nice on the skin. Mind you, I only applied a bit to each wrist ONCE. That was it. What can I say. So far, a complete home run all the way around that is worth many times the eight bucks I paid for it. Is it Tom Ford? Come on. Who are we kidding. But this one trick pony performs it’s very entertaining one trick VERY well and doesn’t eat much, so I’m keeping it around!

I've got a version with "New formula" sticker, and i had no possibility to compare it to the previous version. The presentation remains simple, but the fragrance is so good. A rich and vivid composition of rose, santal and saffron is well-balanced and sounds softly. Saffron gives a honey note, santal and rose is really non-offensive and rounded. Because of citrus (?) it has an "air" between the notes, which is very good. It develops into a softly blooming note. I'm not a lover of rose-santal, rose-oud combinations as many of them are too loud and do not leave me a possibility to breath. The Madinah is different, very comfortable even for the pale cold skin. A similar composition, Oud & Rose from L'occitane, was too heavy for me. Congratulations to Al Haramain for another beautiful fragrance, it is my third blind try with this brand, and each of them was amazingly good.

Body spray formulation: This is a linear fragrance, other than the burst of alcohol, what you smell in the opening is what will stay with you, there's not much scent development, perhaps because it is the body spray formulation. A cold, dewy rose (much like the rose in Al Haramain's Tanasuk) accompanied by sweet sugar notes (turkish delight sort of sweet), a tad of lemon or bergamot (that quickly dissipates), a bit of saffron and a large offering of musk. I'm interested to try the perfume oil, but I fear I may find it too similar to Tanasuk. It's long lasting for a body spray, silage is great, projection is strong. Addendum: Madinah is a clone for Ajmal's Wisal.

Another very nicely composed scent from Al-Haramain, this time it is musky-breezy-rose, while Hajar was deep rich ambery rose, sweetly-oudy, in Madinah citrus and saffron gives nice sour- juicy-fruity bite, so you can not call it sweet or girly, - it is very elegant, aromatic-woody from cedar and sparkly from clean musk. Can't wait to try others, this house keeps surprising me. Right notes of this: Rose, Geranium, Davana Blossoms, Bergamot, Orange Middle note: Rose, Jasmine, Orchid, Clove, Saffron Base note: Musk, Amber, Sandalwood, Cedar wood, Cashmere wood

My first Arabian perfume, I had it from my parents as a gift from Hajj in 2018. This is what I call: love at first smell. You can feel the exquisiteness of rose, the tranquilty of saffron, and the Sufi vibes of musk. First buy was a delightful fragrance experience. Then after 6 months, I tried to buy another round, but this batch is not the same as the first buy, it became unspeakable smell. Well, I hope Al-Haramain will agree to re-establish the original formula, especially the exact 2018 formula for the next batch, if the issue is on batch.

I have the 100ml edp of this and Ajmal Wisal. Both very similar at first spray, but I gave away Wisal after years of loving the Ajmal bestseller. Their mid to drydown spelled the big difference to me. While Wisal's rose note goes from ok to annoying in an hour (it can drive me nuts in that time of the month) and the spices amplified around that time doesn't help. Madinah keeps the rose note from getting bonkers with the sandalwood and citruses. I also feel that Madinah has a higher percent of sandalwood that can be a bit calming for me.

This is the type of product that you buy after a good session of doomscrolling on notino or some other online fragrances shop. It is like so so so cheap and it's always a long lasting oil, not so bad! The quality is aprox good, considering the 12 euros that I've spended. You can easily read the notes, there is no need to explain. But the rose and the floreal is crazy mad, and I'm wearing it since a year now. The only problem is the strange "oil heat effect", it is too much; a good oil it's usually not that heaty.

Longevity of this oil is 12+ hrs. Basically, spicy rose and musk are felt mostly through all the time. This oil is a good alternative to Roses Musk Montale but Montalе is more delicate one. I have both of them. I don 't feel Montale on myself at all in about an hour. On me it's skin scent mostly. Madinah clearly feels 9 hours after applying it. This is a beautiful fragrance that can be used all seasons, any weather and any event. It's for those who love musk though.

To me it's actually a citrus fragrance (I can only feel the orange and sweet citruses and the rose at top and the rest is faint). It is simply lovely, considering I am not a fan of citrusy scents at all. This one is another level, though. It's something like "floral-frutal". It's far from being a "can't live without" perfume, though. Considering the price, it's smells actually much more expensive than it really is.

Really liking it a lot...planning to get 100ml of this soon. Light, airy rose attar....smells a bit like rose hydrosol (gulab jaal as known in india) and green leaves but surprisingly persistent! Very meditative and calming. This great for those hot summer days when you don’t want something loud but looking for s calming fragrance or when you have headaches.

This smells like you just stepped out of the shower using a fresh citrusy showergel and layered a rose scented body lotion over you and threw on a flowy summer dress. It's not my style but I like wearing it in the summer. I'm thinking about ordering badar next because the longevity is so good and i think it will suit my needs more

Straight off the bat, this smells of spicy acquatic rose. It's pretty, the rose is fresh and lush with a touch of spicy geranium. I bought this to layer with rose perfumes but you could wear this by itself, as a day to day fragrance. Longevity is impressive, I can still smell it faintly after 12 hours.

While this is almost just a rose soliflore on me for most of the wear, it is a beautiful one, and surprisingly fresh and summery for such a deep rose. This is a year-round fragrance that wafts between the saffron, sandalwood and rose notes wonderfully. What a fabulous fragrance!

There're too many notes listed and the only notes i get is Rose Sandalwood and Musk. The Saffron is very mild here. It's a bit synthetic and it's similar to Ajmal Musk Rose but that one is another league. The rose is synthetic here and it performs better for that reason. 7/10

Sour-floral and sandalwoood. I have Fleur Musc by Narciso Rodriguez, and they're very similar. Madinah has an extra masculine feel to it, which really makes the composition unisex. I like it in the 1ml sample I have, but I'm not going to purchase it once I'm done.

This one smells like heaven but it is almost inaudible! No projection at all. If there was something I could mix it with to make it pop, to not change the channel, but just turn up the volume, I would haha. 90% the same as Ajmal's Wisal (which does project)

I tested a newer edition of the edp compared to my older one (2019 green bottle). My older one now has a smoky note in it, like the 'oud' note was warmed over a censer. This one does change over time for the better on my skin.

Two people told me I stink so I had to wash it off but It didn't wash off so I had to remove it with oil and there is still a smell.

Comforting, fresh, it has a classic but temporary vibe. For this pricepoint it’s a steal.

I ordered Makkah but they sent Madinah instead. I opened it up and didn't notice the name, I just thought the bottle looked different and I thought maybe they changed the look. Then I smelled it and realized it smelled nothing like Mukhallat so it had to be something different. This smells like the typical sweet and slightly tart citrus rose that is in so many scents. Basically like rose-y sweet tart candies. It smells like Roses Vanille, Intense Cafe, Valentina Pink, and a sweeter version of Delina(which all pretty much smell the same with subtle nuances). It's strong and lasts days on clothes or fabric. Lasts til the next day on my skin. I don't know if I'll repurchase it, because I'm not a huge fan of this DNA that's in so many different things I've tried. Maybe if it grows on me a bit more.
