Royal Musk

I think this is supposed to be a dupe for Tom Ford Musk Pure. This is a weird one but I like it! It's so refreshing and clean smelling. The beeswax note I found strange prior to purchasing it but now I get it and it totally makes the scent. It's actually the strongest note after the musk. I don't get much of the floral notes besides the lily of the valley. It's musk, beeswax, orris root, LOTV, and a little pepper and bergamot. At first, I didn't really love it that much. However, I've worn in the most out of all my new fragrances and I've put quite a dent in the bottle in the past couple weeks that I've had it and that says something. It's just such an easy reach, it's quite nice to wear out of the shower or before bed. You won't smell like anyone else wearing this. It's a bit soapy but I wouldn't classify it as soapy. IF you're looking for a clean musk scent that doesn't smell like anything else and is unique, try Royal Musk. It's sophisticated, pretty, slightly powdery but not really a powdery scent. I would have never thought of using beeswax but I find this scent addicting and I envision repurchasing it when this bottle goes dry.

What I was hoping for is a musk scent that is a more modern "White Musk" for Men and this is exactly that ! Admittedly the opening to this is a little off putting as I get a cleaning wipe smell with also a slightly astringent hair spray type of note in the background. It's not horrible but it's not my favorite. After this dries down it gets much nicer as it develops into a more soapy,powdery,fragrant laundry musk type of smell that's comforting but also refreshing! The drydown remains pretty similar but it gets smoother and more powdery! Very beautiful smell !! As a guy I'd say this is unisex! The one compliment I did recently receive was from a girl that said it was refreshing and smelled like a more musky,manly version of a Kate Space perfume she has. So again, it's not girly but not super masculine as well. Performance on this is actually great for the price ! This lasts me 6-10 hours with moderate/strong projection with excellent sillage ! Overall rating-7.75 out of 10 ! Not a personal favorite but an excellent choice when I was a fresh/musky/clean smell that's going to last most of the day.

There is magic when musk is permitted to be the matchmaker of the marriage between ylang ylang and beeswax. When a slightly earthy orris finds a willing heart with a pepper note. Oh my, is there such magic. My very first words upon application were, "wow" and I do not use those words often. I am not usually impressed... however, something about royal musk takes me back to a scent memory of my childhood that I did not know I even had. It spirited me away in that brief moment of time to the 90s and early 2000s when royal jelly cosmetic and body products were all the rage and my mother was swept up in that storm. If there was ever a royal jelly dusting powder for grown women, it would be be royal musk. It is not long lasting in my experience of wearing it for full work days in my home office (3-4 hours), but I adore it so much that I don't mind reapplying sprays to my neck. That's all.

Blind bought and pleasantly surprised. Probably the best purchase of this summer. It's a flowery musk fragrance, easy to wear, but somehow quite different from many musk scents I smelt before. I've been wearing it both in the daytime and at night as a comfort scent. The next morning, I can still smell it on my pillowcase. Aside from it being crowd-pleasing yet different, what I enjoy the most about it is its texture. It's clean but not soapy, musky but not too fleeting, screechy, heavy, or cloying. The overall texture stays fresh and light, but beeswax grounds the structure to have enough body, and the floral notes just bloom on the surface. I'll have to try it this winter, but this fragrance might work beautifully on a snowing day too.

I love layering this with Insolence EDT and it becomes so nice on me. I wear this by itself too but I really wish it also had violets in it and not just the orris root. I see that it is more unisex with orris root and not having violets or iris in it, but I still wish it had more purple flowers in the note structure. It's peppery, powdery, and the musk and beeswax are the strongest notes in RM. It smells clean, refreshing, waxy, and it's just a really nice fragrance. It's not soapy at all and I'm glad it doesn't have vanilla in it because I'm not the biggest fan of sweet musks.

I really enjoyed this clean perfume today. I’m in Florida it was in the 90s so I wanted to wear something light and clean after my gym shower. I was impressed with the longevity and sillage of this perfume. It’s not a beast mode fragrance but it gave me what I needed in this weather. I loved the bubble around me and the airy appeal it had. I wore this once before when it was around 70 degrees outside and this perfume didn’t shine like this . Definitely a must have for the Florida heat

This could be a TF Musk Pure dupe. Same notes. But since I've never smelled that one, I can't confirm. That being said, this is nice. The musk is beautifully done; and the jasmine and other florals calm the musk down so it's not too strong. In fact, the musk and jasmine are working beautifully together. I would definitely call this one unisex. Very sexy and it really shines with a little heat and sweat.

This is a beautiful, soft yet very noticeable, clean, powdery musk that is inoffensive. Very powdery, but I love it even more because of its powdery nuance. I prefer powdery vs animalic musk. A pleasant blind buy!

If you find the CLEAN line a bit screechy, try this. This is just a beautiful, soft, sweet & cleansing scent. Not too musky or floral or powdery. It’s like a palate cleanser, for your nose.

This is a very long lasting, clear and clean musk fragrance. Definitely unisex. I don’t get a lot of the florals. Also there is kind of a “cold” tone to it, reminiscent of the colour of the bottle actually. It is perfect for a work environment where you want something that smells put together and is long lasting. Can also be worn on the hottest of days and lasts all day. To me that’s the strength of this one, it’s not the most interesting or amazing scent profile but it could be the king (or queen) of everyday clean musk scents, especially for longevity.

Perfectly unisex to my nose. Classy but casual at the same time, this can be worn for many instances, from day to warm nights. It’s very well blended so I don’t get a concentration of any one note in particular. It translates to a clean, shower fresh powder scent. Although it’s a very clean scent, it isn’t soapy. It’s silage and projection are incredible as most offerings in this line are. The note composure is very similar to that of Prada La Femme but I have never smelled it and can’t compare. The bottle and packaging are quite luxe.

Very clean, almost soapy, sophisticated everyday scent. The musk really dominates, but it's very "white" and slightly powdery. I can't detect the beeswax note at all, but I do get a hint of white flowers and bergamot. It's an easy reach for any daily activity, like work, sports or traveling. Inoffensive and not "perfumy" at all. Unisex, sure, but leans a bit more on the feminine side. Nothing "royal" about it either... this is a simple, fresh, clean musk best combined with blue jeans and a white T-shirt.

It is soapy. That said, it's a pleasant, calming summer scent with clear yellow flowers and orris notes. If you don't have a clean, musk-dominated fragrance and you like ylang-ylang then it's a good one. If you - like me - have several middle eastern musks on the shelf, you can skip it. The longevity is ok but the sillage is not so great which makes it a nice go-to-sleep scent.

This reminds me of Initio’s Musk Therapy. I have both and wear this one more often. When I run out of them, I will repurchase this one. It is a clean (but not soapy) scent. Fantastic for the summer!

I have the much more expensive Midnight Musk from Al Haramain and this is almost like a copy of it. Bought a slightly used bottle for really cheap and am quite happy with it.

I've loads of posh perfumes, but this is still the only fragrance to get complement from someone other than my partner. Pretty much unisex. Great value too.

I purchased this fragrance based on perfume reviewers on youtube, because it was described as a clean musk. Ive let this perfume macerate and tested it out several times. I dont hate this perfume but i don't necessarily reach for it either as far as perfumes in the musk category goes. It is a very clean scent but i feel like its very sharp and not well blended between the top and base notes. at first you get an intense blast of baby powder, which i absolutely hate and some pepper. there is very little floral notes that i can smell and then as it dries down, it does smell a little smoother, softer, and sweeter on the skin. I just cant stand the harsh opening, its straight up smells like johnsons baby powder and gives almost a cleaner chlorine vibe. i give this a 3/5 but there are so much better musk scents that i would reach for than this one....

Based on reviews and the notes I thought I would love this, but it’s just okay. I see how this might be some people’s favorite, but for me it’s way too much baby powder and not really the musk I expected. This is not a montale or shower kind of musk, it’s sweet powder. For a baby powder scent it’s great, so if that is your vibe this might be the one for you. The longevity on me is non-existent, like it’s gone in an hour, but maybe I become anosmic. I am surprised how much it reminds me of Lazy Sunday Morning by MM, I already have that and I like it a little more, also that lasts at least 4 hours. So I will be sending this back.

I find this to be an acquired taste. When I got it two years ago, I was disappointed, it reminded me of baby wipes, old lady powder stuff. It's possible that over the time, the perfume and my taste that came with experience developed, and now I can see the beauty in this perfume, I can detect more notes, I find it sophisticated, old money type. I associate it with Prada La Femme, it's that sort of elegance vibe (although Prada is sweeter). So, for those who got it and are also disappointed, perhaps wait and see if you appreciate it with time.

A musky, powdery fragrance with a clean, soapy vibe. The main drawback is the strong baby powder vibe, which is overwhelming and off-putting. While it's marketed as unisex, it leans more feminine to my nose. Overall the intense powdery smell dominates the fragrance and makes it less enjoyable. 5/10
