Jasmine

Of all the trio of Al Shareef Oudh first sprays release Jasmine is the easiest to wear for me. A jasmine soliflore that is so realistic to blooming jasmine sambac. Exquisite. It greets you with indolic and narcotic jasmine that immedietly gives you a shock and penetrates to your soul. At the same time the sandalwood bed calms you and gives you ease, just like a hug from your loved one. Inhale with shock exhale with pleasure 😉. Jasmine really has a heavy dose of fine sandalwood that acts as a backbone and body of this composition. And of course musk. The real deer musk. It is the musk that realy gives Jasmine 3D presence and longevity. 12 hours + on skin and weeks on fabric. If I can break down further Jasmine is consist of Jasmine (of course), sandalwood, musk, leather and powdery. I asume the leather accord was created around musk pod, saffron and oudh, probably Hindi oudh. But I could be wrong about that. While saffron is also lend its medicinal facet if you give more focus, you will also find mouth watering effect from it just like when you smelling a bunch of saffron directly. You know, that juicy dried red fruit smell from saffron. And for the powdery smell must be come from interactions of sandalwood, musk and orris. I assume cedar is used to prevent the jasmine from smelling too wet. It gives slightly dryness to perfect the whole composition. Jasmine suits day or night wearing but just don’t wear it on very hot day. Also a tip for wearing a heavy animalic composition is spray it a little bit away from nose. Chest or arm or you can also spray on top of your head. Don’t spray on your neck or you gonna be nose blinded by it 🙂. And don’t over spray, 3 to 5 sprays is sufficient. And the sprayer is robust, on par with Areej le Doré sprayer. Jasmine is worth the quality, craftmanship and asking price 👌. Hats off to Alshareef Jawed for keeping this old world style tradition alive. P.S: smelling this too frequent directly for long time can give you dizzy effect just like smelling blooming jasmine for long duration!

A very Jasmine forward natural fragrance, indeed. This perfume opens on my skin with a melange of Jasmine notes, never swaying too far into the indolic side of the flower. As the fragrance progresses, I pick up on the orris, musk and sandalwood, which play off of the Jasmine’s sweetness to give a creamy texture to the perfume. In all, a very good introduction to perfume from this line. At times, I wished this perfume leaned heavier into the more daring side of jasmine! Give me more green! Give me more indole! But if you love jasmine, you will certainly love this!

A lovely Arabian style ode to the jasmine flower. The scent opens with two types of jasmine (both the sambac and grandiflorum varieties) and this stays throughout the length of the wear. As the perfume dries off, one can detect slight notes of orris, musk, saffron, sandalwood and leather in the mix. The perfume however is a jasmine show from start to finish and the natural extracts used are of very good quality. The feminine leaning scent has moderate to strong sillage and good longevity. Jasmine lovers need to try this one. Enjoy!
