McQueen Eau de Parfum

I will first say that I do not believe McQueen would ever have put his name to this series of scents. I have smelled no other versions than this and Blanche, but they suspiciously look like Zara or H&M scents! Not very discerning, so not something I would associate with McQueen! In my opinion, the scents, while having some merit, are not unique enough to be OKayed by McQueen - simple as that. I don't think he was one for borrowing style so crassly. These are too much of a type, of a certain character. Nothing stands out in these scents and they are in no way unique. They lack character. Or, what character they do have is borrowed, is too in-keeping within an ilk, an already well established style. They bring nothing new to the table. Everybody remembers how dirt cheap Madonna's Truth or Dare was. How tacky the bottle and the lid were/are. I say this as a "FAN" of Truth or Dare. It can't really be denied. This McQueen scent is much the same by design. The label looks like a sticker on the front for Christ sake... Though this one does have a nice spray mechanism. I will point out to anybody who hasn't noticed - these are by COTY (though perhaps this is debatable? "P&G Prestige" were "acquired" by COTY around this time and I'm simply not interested enough to put any effort in to researching/fact checking anything regarding COTY at this time). The same COTY who destroyed VW's Boudoir. Well, the Blanche version of this McQueen scent immediately put me in mind of "Mon Boudoir" and the million "Naughty Alice" flankers on the market. They're that type of scent, i.e relatively easy wearing, basic, safe scents. Doesn't smell like you paid a fair whack for it. This one is a lot better than Blanche. They open almost the same but while Blanche feels somewhat tacky and too bright for me - almost like a Lempicka scent - I'm sure I smell cherries there, this one's warmer, smoother, nothing fruity, boasting a better blend of notes. My qualm with this being that it levels out to fairly soft, intimate skin scent within an hour. In its final stage the tuberose is overshadowed by a blasé bed of sweet/gourmand vanilla and cedar. But for the most part this scent is enjoyable - as one of these rather specific/familiar types of tuberose scents. Fitting neatly within the little box it has assigned for itself. McQueen was not a man to be kept in a box. I say this as somebody who could not give a flying frick about fashion, having never cared much for it at all. But I agree wholeheartedly with the person who said that this does not fit the brand. McQueen's MyQueen and Kingdom are MCQUEEN scents. This set of scents are not. Smooth, slightly spiced, warm and womanly. A beautifully blended scent with a focus on tuberose. This is a very nicely rounded, though fairly linear scent. I like this one but was not at all keen on Blanche, which was fresh, tart, & boring. Though they both clearly have the same chemicals making their "tuberose" and "gardenia", or whatever, the rosette definitely goes to this one and I wonder what the PARFUM variant is like... This is very nice, for a COTY* scent. It smells like a COTY* scent. I'm a fan of this COTY* scent. (*"P&G Prestige Beaute" if you're gonna get pantsy..) Honestly, what actually offends me, besides this not being a particularly unique creation, is that they did not choose to call this McQueen's "such & such" or "so & so", but went straight for the jugular by calling it, simply, MCQUEEN. The eponymous, MCQUEEN. He didn't do that himself with MyQueen or Kingdom, so what makes them think they can drag his name through the mud after his death like that? Ew! Icky. Nasty! Below the belt! Nice scent though. So, in conclusion: For those, like myself, who might be in the market for a softer/smoother/day-to-day version of Truth or Dare by Coty/Madonna, look no further. I prefer this to Truth or Dare because it's more wearable and far less brazen and brash.There's even some of the character of Amarige in here too, which is nice . "ALEXANDER MCQUEEN" - Gone, and - by all accounts - sadly forgotten. The man was a national treasure. This could just as easily have been a "Steve McQueen" perfume for all it seems to matter. And that is quite sad.

Came across this one after looking for a replacement for my beloved Truth or Dare, the closest I’ve had to a signature. I’m not prepared to pay around £75-£100 for the few bottles left on eBay when I can buy a bottle of Fracas for those prices so have been looking for a day to day replacement. Fracas is eye-rollingly heavenly but quite strong and almost too special for the day to day, and some in my family and workplace object to very strong perfumes so I’m careful not to wear it too often in those settings. I got a sample of Alexander McQueen to try and whilst it is a more peppery, woodier version of Truth or Dare, it’s the closest I’ve come to a fragrance that has the freshness/airiness of Truth or Dare and a close enough match to be a replacement for me. It’s perfect for me for work and day to day and has that lush tuberose without being overly heavy. The tuberose in this is “bubble-gummy” as opposed to the “grape”-like smell I get from the tuberose in My Way or L’Interdit. Longevity and projection are on the low to moderate side, unless you overspray. As this perfume seems to be easily obtainable at the discounters online I will probably get a 75ml (can be purchased for about £50) so I can overspray with abandon! I don’t tend to get compliments on my tuberose fragrances as I find it’s quite a divisive note and this is no exception, but it’s the perfume I wear for me. Such a gorgeous perfume, really looking forward to trying it in the summer as I noticed many reviewers on here say it works well in the warm weather.

This perfume truly is pure sex. My husband likes most of my scents just fine, but this one drove him wild, not a single other scent has this effect on him. I jokingly said I would wear it when we were going to see the Bank Manager (and maybe he would therefore give us more money) and he genuinely looked alarmed, like he was scared the bank manager would be overcome by lust, or something. The scent itself is 'just' Turburose, ylang ylang and jasmine, but oh my, it is heady. I don't normally go for the high-pitched smells, but this just works. It's intoxicating, there's no other word to describe it. But despite it being overtly sexual, it still manages to keep up the pretense of being an icy-cool, upper class lady. I have to admit, I don't wear it too often, I can't be bothered swatting away my husband constantly. Be warned, this scent is crazy in that regard. It is totally like that end scene in the movie 'Perfume, story of a murderer'... I have never smelt Truth or Dare - it is impossible to get where I live but I will have to seek it out.

I just received this for my birthday and haven't stopped wearing it since. My partner bought this for me - apparently after many hours of deliberation and sniffing of pieces of card in department stores - and declares this 'the best perfume of all time'. Period. No retreat, no surrender. He has a close relationship with my 'habit' of perfume and has been exposed to many an expensive brew. Even so, for him, this was 'it', the one, the best. Happily, I agree that it really is quite something... Heady, hearty tuberose with a smoky, dark and brooding feel. Slightly dangerous, very sexy, surprisingly gauzy and transparent. Envelopes the wearer in a subtle dark hue all day without ever being too obvious. Sillage and longevity are perfect for me - I want people to breathe me in, not choke on me. Heavenly concoction, dark structural potion, very McQueen... but that transparency makes it suitable for everyday wear when sprayed lightly. Signature worthy. I feel very spoiled indeed.

A very warm tuberose, jasmine, ylang yland with some spicy touches here and there. What I find unique but perfectly fitting here is the addition of cloves. I love cloves in anything and goes so well in this composition. It adds warmth and elevates the florals in the composition. If you love a bubblegum tuberose with a bit of spiciness and you can get your hands on this, I highly recommend it. It’s well made and smells great, realistic and refined. A potential wedding scent in my opinion! Performs well in the warmer weather but it is not a beast like something from Givenchy’s L’Interdit line. Sadly, I don’t see this anywhere sold so I think it got discontinued.

Such an elegant, sensual perfume, a wonderful blind buy for me! The bubblegum notes, from tuberose as soft and light as a feather, are underscored by vibrant pepper and clove. Then the yellow flowers come in, bringing a flirtatious playfulness. This perfume could be worn day or night, in the office or on a date, in warm or cold weather, it’s a really versatile multitasker. True, it’s neither as bold nor unique as the perfumes Alexander McQueen developed in his lifetime, but Sarah Burton brought her own feminine wit and grace to the brand’s designs. and this perfume feels like a tribute to her, as well as a worthy continuation of his legacy.

Dark, dense, sophisticated and sexy. What a beautiful perfume! Slightly medicinal and herbal opening due to pepper and clove accords. Interplay between lush tuberose, indolic jasmine and exotic ylang-ylang is pure witchery. Vetiver in the drydown is incensy and woodsy; soft, leathery and intriguing. Lasting power is decent on me; not much projection that is good, -exactly to my liking. Sensual and seductive. Piercing scent! I'm smitten. Bewitched! P S. The vintage vibe of this smell reminds me of Red Moscow ( Красная Москва) - iconic Russian perfume. No wonder that I'm bewitched indeed.

Love the fragrance itself. It lingers on the brink of being indole but it isn't. Instead, I get this intense cloud of florals that fills my nose with soft warmth. When I first sprayed it on my wrist, I expected it to be as brash and loud in projection as Victor and Rolf's Flowerbomb. Imagine my surprise when I got zero projection! People have to stand really close to me to even get a whiff, and I use a generous ten to twelve spritzes. So don't expect this one to fill the room, except when it's a bedroom. It's definitely sexy and should be used in that very setting.

I tried this perfume based on the notes, and was really pleasantly surprised. It's floral and warm, but has a lovely peppery dry down that saves it from being cloying. It's feminine and sexy, but not overpowering. Love it, and have gotten lots of compliments on it. It's great for work and for evening, much like a little black dress. I prefer it for fall and winter, it's probably a little heavy for a hot summer day. It's like someone took Hermes Amazone and poured floral all over it. Perfect. One of my new favorites.

My strong love for this perfume makes me unable to believe all the negative comments Actually it was love at first sniff❤️ It mesmerized me and became on of my all time favorites instantly Although it is very jasmine-y and I’m not so much into jasmine but this one some how made me really enjoy jasmine.. I can’t stop sniffing my wrest I put it while I’m pregnant and it doesn’t cause any nausea or headache which is a miracle But certainly I don’t recommend blind buy.. obviously it’s not everyone’s cup of tea

Creamy, indolic tuberose and jasmine are the stars of the show. Pepper keeps the otherwise dated scent profile edgy and sharp. The scent stays totally linear on me and gradually becomes powdery and creamy close to the skin. It's a romantic, dreamy fragrance with some rough around the edges. Like pairing a bubblegum pink floaty dress with a leather choker and biker boots. Keeper for special occasions and in memory of the modern rags to riches fairytale of its namesake.

This is exactly like Truth or Dare minus the creamy benzoin-vanilla aspect, which in my opinion, is what makes ToD so special. This has a prettier bottle but I'm perfectly happy with ToD. Edit: after wearing it again, I've decided that this has a certain lightness to it (unlike ToD) that makes it equally sexy, but in a different way, and more suitable for daytime/professional/hot weather wear. I may buy a bottle after all, being the tuberose freak that I am.

I need this for autumn and winter!! It smells DIVINE! It fits my chemistry like a glove. For some very, very odd reason it reminds me a tiny bit of Burberry London? I actually have a hard time describing this one.. It's just beautiful. Floral, warm, round, kind of heavy and a little spicy and sweet. It has something distinctive about it. On me, sillage is heavy and longevity is moderate. This perfume is for women, not girls in my opinion!

All Tuberose perfumes seem alike at first, the main note IS Tuberose, they often get compared to the same lot Fracas/Bloom/Herrera as if having one will substitute for all the rest. Well... no. I especially love this one, it's my most CHIC Tuberose. It's not Benzoin sweet as in Truth or Dare, nor is it sharp as in Herrera, nor is it fleeting as in Bloom and it's not soapy either. It's the perfect combination of Tuberose, Spices and Wood.

I like This fragrance a lot .From the moment i test it . Reminded me another perfum, then i checked fragrantica and there it was eas ...Thruth or Dare by Madonna !!! only Alexander is so much better. It is rounder, more fine, bettet quality. ToD is too strong and a bit artificial .Any way this is a great perfume ,clean white flowers tuberose, powdery and modern !

This is SO elegant and likeable. The three main notes give off a very creamy, almost lactonic smell with the tuberose being the most prominent. It is a little bit reminiscent of L'Interdit but less sweet EDIT: I have been CRAVING this every single day since the day I got it. It is so, so comforting and beautiful. A lot smoother than L'Interdit. This is so good.

I'm in love with it. It half smells like a betty spaghetti doll, but there's also something beautiful and christmassy about it. The white flower is very strong, and there's also like a minty-ness to it as well. It's probably not for everyone, but I'm completely intoxicated by it.

I love this scent. For me, this is femininity in a bottle. The gentleness, subtleness, and undeniable beauty of the scent makes it one of my favorites. If you're someone who enjoys floral scents and loves the feeling of being surrounded by flowers, this is a must-try!

I really like this tuberose based fragrance. It's almost a soliflor because the tuberose really dominates here. It's not synthetic smelling, rather very natural. The faint vetiver in the base almost comes off as cedarwood. This is a must try for all tuberose fans.

Beautiful, buttery, woody tuberose, I especially like the dry-down. I have been looking for a replica of my favourite L'Artisan Parfumeur Tubereuse (sadly discontinued), and this might just be it.

A lovely bubblegum tuberose. Not sickly sweet though or heavy and heady as a lot of white flower prominent scents are. This one is quite transparent yet it still makes it's presence known.

This is a beautiful modern fragrance that takes a nod at the vintages. This really is all about the tuberose and ylang with a hint of pink pepper that tickles the nose.

This reminds me of Easter. Soft, pretty florals (jasmine & tuberose) with a hint of sweetness. Fresh and soft. I had to give this one a second try.

I absolutely love this scent. It reminds me of Betty Spaghetti dolls. It sucks that that the smell goes away so quickly.

Two things really surprised me about this fragrance. First, it is totally different in warm weather than in cold. Seriously, it's like a completely different fragrance. And second, that there are no wood notes listed, yet this wears like a woody floral on me. Honestly, I really didn't care for this when I purchased it last winter. I found the vetiver and the pepper too sharp and grating and the floral notes screechy. But in the heat the vetiver is woody and silky smooth and perfectly accentuates the now creamy florals. The pepper is just enough to highlight the natural sweetness of the florals and combined with a light clove note it is adding a lovely and very subtle spice. I get no powder in the base, though I'm not missing it. The composition as a whole is beautiful, well rounded, and very versatile. I felt equally as comfortable wearing it at work as I did out to dinner afterwards. The only issue is it doesn't seem to project as well in the heat as it did last winter. Still, I am enjoying this much more now even though I have to spray a little heavier and do a touch-up mid-afternoon. Now that I know how this behaves, I'll strictly reserve it for warm weather wear as the heat really does make a huge difference here. It's also one I'll replace with a larger bottle when I finish this one-ounce bottle (that's super cute, btw). I'm so glad I didn't give in to my initial impulse to get rid of it and put it aside to try another day. I would have really missed out on this thoroughly enjoyable and very pretty perfume.

i immediately thought "Truth or Dare" (minus the thick amber) as the top is a bouquet of sweet (their own natural sweetness) white flowers. tuberose is dominant. with jasmine following closely at her heels. as the tuberose dries down, jasmine takes over. it does not smell anything like Nuit de Tubereuse, despite it's shared peppered Tuberose. This is airey and bright, not juicy. i can smell freesias, like the powdered pink freesias in Guerlain's With Love. a slight waft of dry woods, almost dusty vetiver throughout. but it has remained more flowers than woods to me. the light touch of spices give it a sunny warmth and vetiver, the depth and charm. Although not as sweet and wet as Fracas and Estee Lauder Tuberose Gardenia, they also sprang to mind as i was wearing this. so if you love white flowers like that, with a slight dash of pepper (think My Queen), i am sure you will love this. the jasmine is truly beautiful! soft and powdered woods. this has sexiness, beauty and warmth. a very interesting (throughout the top, middle and dry down) and sophisticated (in its simplicity) white floral, which i think is going to be a grower on me. it lasts a good few hours and the sillage is pretty generous for the first hour or so. i did not get any cloves. have only tested it twice, zero cloves so far. (interestingly, it was my Truth or Dare purchase that set me off on my perfume journey a year and a half ago. i found Fragrantica and began to read and eventually to start typing....)

This perfume has a brash, redolent, peppery opening with faint traces of burnt plastic. This quickly dissipates, giving way to billowing gossamer of pale tuberose and jasmine contrasting the distant, loamy smoke of vetiver. After an hour, all that remains is the white floral musk of french tuberose soap that whispers on clothing. As some of the other reviews have described, this scent is weather sensitive. Testing it in the spring rain, I would not describe this as a warm cloying bubble gum tuberose but pale, sheer and fleeting. I didn’t even detect the ylang ylang and assume this scent contained only a trace to round out the floral accord. I can see the intension behind this fragrance to perhaps evoke the reflection on ephemerality inherent to Alexander McQueen’s work. I picture a cold stone monastery at dusk. The scent of new world spices from the evening meal are fresh in the air as the monks assemble for the evening vespers. Long into the night, as the candles melt to nubs and the insense disintegrates to ashes, their prayers are answered by the entrance of an angel. But she is not the golden, innocent majestic beauty of their expectations. She is forbidding with a chilling silver aura, yet delicate, with a gaunt figure and sickly palour— like an Alexander McQueen model. She is gone before the monks have a chance to tell if they are dreaming, leaving behind a cloud of floral soap to cleanse their sins.

For me this is a versatile fragrance in that it could easily be worn to the office or for a night out...or to the office and then straight out on the town afterwards. I prefer it over the warmer months simply because it isn't overly sweet so unlikely to be cloying. It has just the right amount of vetiver creating a smoky vibe to it which would be perfect for attending bars along the beach front or a bonfire on the beach. The dryness of it evokes a woman 30+ who has outgrown the likes of pink sugar. Longevity was about 9-10hrs on me in spring, projects reasonably for the first 2-4hrs before starting to wane and sit closer to the skin. All in all, not a bad fragrance for the price. Edit 18/07/24: This is such a dark horse. I wore this yesterday after months of not wearing it and 24 hours later after having my shower, I could still smell it. In my earlier review, I mentioned longevity was pretty good, but it appears the longer it macerates, the longer the scent will linger. This has phenomenal staying power, much better than many of the niche fragrances I have. Definitely plenty of bang for your buck!

Beautiful jasmine and tuberose bordering on indolic but its lightness stops it going too far in that direction. Not-too-sweet ylang ylang makes its appearance and rounds out the floral composition. Even with all these traditionally heavy florals it avoids being stuffy. McQueen EDP is smooth and uncluttered from beginning to end. It is airy despite containing spices of black pepper, pink pepper and clove. And it’s light despite heart notes of usually intoxicating flowers. The vetiver base is woody, semi-sweet and dry, reminiscent of vintage perfumes. It is not fresh like some of the more modern green vetiver notes. This is a light, modern perfume with a tip of the hat to perfumers of yesteryear. Its not sweet by today’s standards and could possibly be unisex for the right person. It's interesting, balanced and easy to wear. My only wish is that it were longer lasting, but that is to be expected these days. I’m happy to carry a decant to refresh if needed. I’m grateful to have this beauty in my collection.

Before taking the time to write a proper review I came here just to address two of the biggest questions discussed here (aside from longevity and sillage): Does it smell like Truth or Dare by Madonna? Yes. In a way. Smelled right from the nozzle, sprayed in the air - yes. Absolutely. Even the soft veil that the perfume creates after being sprayed on the skin resembles Madonna's first fragrance A LOT. But closer inspection = smelling your skin even right after applying, let alone after an hour or two, proves that it is completely different perfume indeed. More spices, less sweetness. Does it represent the brand of Alexander McQueen? Yes. Yes, yes, yes. This feels more like Alexander McQueen than anything created under the same name after Lee Alexander's passing (my apologies for the fans of the new creations - there has been good moments too!) In fact, the spices in this one remind me of the (in)famous Kingdom, although a lot tamer and less in your face (meaning less sweaty). Instant love!

McQueen couture has literally brought me to tears many times. I've put off testing this for too long. It's tuberose, which I love (who doesn't?). It matches the bottle. It's clean, sweet, and feminine but with a liiiiittle darkness. It's sexy and classy. The note pyramid is spot on. It starts out peppery and white floral. It settles into the perfect amount of sweet woody vetiver and tuberose. On my skin it has moderate sillage and the peppery white floral lasts three to four hours. After that, the sweet vetiver can be detected from a few inches away for a few hours. On fabric it lasts much longer. It actually smells a bit like Michael Kors with more spiciness and tuberose. It smells absolutely nothing like TF Orchid Soleil. Update: As the weather has gotten hotter, I've come to love this scent more and more. Particularly after it's sat and mixed with my skin for about an hour. It's delicious. Much more gourmand.

McQueen reminds me of various other perfumes above, Truth or Dare, Fracas, and others what is different is that there is a transparent quality to McQueen that those others lack. Almost like putting the perfume through a cheese cloth to filter out bulk and what you are left w/ is the most delicate scent. I do not find this similar at all to his Blanche, that is way to ozonic for me and I dislike it. Lord knows I don't need another tuberose perfume but if I was in the market for one this is a good one. It would make a nice gift for a perfume novice. It is tuberose but it is very easy to wear. It is a veil of scent instead of a dense cloud like most tuberose perfumes can be. It really smells like a tuberose soap I had a while back that I really loved. I might have to add this to my collection after all. I love the gently soapiness of this perfume. It is very creamy, soft, delicate, and gentle.

Intoxicatingly seductive and beautiful. Maybe the softest and most feminine tuberose I have ever encountered. Opens as a gentle caress of pristine, yet shadowy jasmine sambac entwined with fresh, newly blossoming tuberose and sweet ylang. A wisp of delicate spices, pink pepper/black pepper/cloves keeps everything dry, plushy, and ethereally complex. There is nothing overtly green, nothing camphorous or oily, nothing overly sweet. Everything just floats perfectly embroidered on a silken dream cloud hovering on a light vetiver grass nest that grounds things into sensuality with a tender embrace. This is a creamy, soft lullaby that kisses you to sleep. Absolutely divine. Nothing else smells exactly like this. This is ravishing. I like this.

All i get is a clean and lush tuberose, from beginning to end. I am perfectly ok with that, because I am a fan of this flower, but i wouldn't recommend this fragrance to anyone who has a problem with tuberose, because here it is really potent. For me this perfume suits a mature, elegant lady, who isn't afraid of drawing attention to herself. And of course, to any hardcore tuberose fan out there. Just don't overspray it, because sillage is powerful. Overall it is a linear, sensual, rich and classic fragrance. Thumbs up!

Tuberose and jasmine, that's what I get and it's good enough. While I like the real scented flowers, those same notes can be difficult in a perfume. McQueen does it right, these are realistic florals, not punched up or muddled with a lot of other notes. No spices as far as I can tell, and that's fine, too. Sillage and lasting power are about average, not overwhelming but not feeble, either. A wearable tuberose and jasmine scent, feminine but not sugary or sweltering. Work safe!

This is a blind buy and a risky one indeed since it strays away from my usual type of scent I enjoy. On the first night I sprayed it I absolutely hated it but to much surprise the scent quickly grow on me and I can’t stop sniffing my wrist. This is a beautiful scent of jasmine and ylang ylang explosion. There’s something dirty in the background which makes this truly intoxicating. This may be a scent for audience above 25 to enjoy.

This is far, far sheerer than Fracas, Blonde, Serge Tuberose Criminelle, Truth or Dare (all of which I have or have had), or anything else super tuberosey that it can be compared to. There those are super hefty and have tons of heat, this is like the junior version. Its like a roaring fire versus a heating blanket. But not in a cheap way, which makes it good. And the pepper is a nice touch.

This is actually a very pleasant night blooming flowers fragrance. Looking at the notes listed here I really feared it may be quite overwhelming but it would make a very easy to wear evening fragrance for anyone. I swear there is musk in here somewhere but its not listed! You have some powerhouse notes listed yet I get a spiced up SJP Lovely. I get moderate sillage and longevity.

Wow just wow. This is a big like at first sniff(almost love) and it rarely happens to me. I'm a guy and not so much into florals but this one i can see myself wearing. It's clean and fresh but there's like a sheer scent bubble of mysteriousness and sophistication that surrounds it. It's kind of haunting for some reason. Full bottle worthy IMO.

Feminine, gentle, sexy and classy - all at the same time! Very beautiful bottle and juice itself, inoffensive yet distinctive. Floral and sweet. I just love this on a cloudy grey day to brighten me up. Having said that, it is almost exactly the same as Madonna's Truth or Dare, which by the way is a lot cheaper.

Magnificent!I just love this EDP.. Although I do not think it is similar to Madonna Truth or Dare at all. I rather thing it is mix of old Dior Addict, NU &Kingdom without cumin notes, but there are some other sexy spices and tuberose. Elegant!

I've been wearing this with Parfums Ungaro Diva edp, and it's so nice on a warm day. The McQueen kind of floats above the Diva, and then they come together in the spicy and woody realms. I may buy a full bottle of this if I get the chance...

This is a floral woody musk. This fragrance smells like narciso (cube bottles, particularly the white and black ones) initially but then blooms to tuberose, ylang, and jasmine mixed with soft, warm spiciness. I'm enjoying my travel spray. -

Floral, woody and lightly spicy, this scent brings to mind pleasantly chilly evenings outdoors. I love vetiver in general, so maybe that's it. It's a nice blend - not too heavy, but stays with me for longer than most.

"Scratchy Tuberose Floriental" I recently purchased this so inexpensively. For less than $50 this is a beautiful floriental. It does seem tuberose-centric and the vetiver/woody quality is definitely there. I won't comment on how this may or may not live up the the McQueen name and legacy. I did have Kingdom back in the day. This is a politely retro floriental that's definitely pleasant to wear and does seem a bit sultry. For me, personally, there's a lot of vetiver in the dry down and vetiver is a struggle note for me. This comes off a bit "scratchy," but I still like it. I'd say the longevity is short to moderate, mostly disappears within 2-3 hours. I wouldn't compare this to most of the other tuberose-centric fragrances listed above as being similar. The only similarity is that it prominently features tuberose. There's much more oriental stuff going on here to compare it to Truth or Dare, Fracas or Bloom. From the above list I'd go with Donna Karan Gold as having the most similar overall vibe and maybe I'd add VW Boudoir. I get the pepper, vetiver and woods very strongly and of course the obligatory musk base. I like this, but don't love it. I'll wear it once in a while, happily.

I'm a big tuberose lover and have no issues with the greener nor the more ripe and creamy varieties. But something is not right with this one, the scent feels very thin, lacking base and substance. It is however very persistent at the same time with no discernable development. Quite a nice smell, but lacks the depth to be a nice perfume. It could be that I'm averse to strongly pronounced pink pepper but even without that note, it would still feel monotonous and lacking an anchor. The bottle is very pretty and the sprayer very good quality.

Tuberose and gardenia, an 'I've been there smelled that' situation for me. McQueen is a well executed but oh so overdone white floral. Name a tuberose fragrance, Truth or Dare, Fracas, heck even Giorgio and McQueen does remind me of it. I personally dislike tuberose, it feels too bold and overpowering nowadays (used to love Fracas with a passion a few years back but tastes change). McQueen is a narcotic, bold tuberose, for lovers of the particular accord. Not original but a good option within the genre.

For a simple somewhat rosy fragrance for women this is quite dirty smelling It is not disgusting, but a feminine fragrance with some earthiness and odd I find this fragrance more masculine leaning and unpleasant overall I don't recommend this at all If you want a daring,provocative casual fragrance this might be it

This fragrance does not age well at all. The juice turns a dark murky green/gray color and it reeks of pepper. No tuberose to be found.

@damienthoresso, I can agree with you that this also reminded me of Truth or Dare by Madonna, but I am not so sure I can agree with you in your statements:"..The perfume doesn't, nor does the bottle, respresent the brand....", "..not a McQueen type of scent....". I believe this is 'a McQueen type of scent' and while it may not represent the brand, perhaps it was not meant to do so. I don't think McQueen was one to be put inside a box. From what I know and have seen of his creations, from shoes, clothing, accessories, and the designer as well, confining oneself to just one thing that would define or represent him would not be in keeping with someone who always was one beat ahead of those around him. Alexander McQueen was willing to create what others may find extreme, out there, or even unconventional. But all these things that McQueen has created or shown the masses are indeed a representation of his creativity, not necessarily 'the brand', and as a masterful designer of multiple artistic talent. Not just one fragrance could ever do that. As I am experiencing this wonderful fragrance right now, it does call to mind a gorgeous array of gardenia and I mean those freshly smelled from the plant itself. Very creamy, dreamy gardenia with the woody stems in the background. BTW, if you have ever seen some of his couture creations, which many include feathers and unusual materials and shapes, especially footwear, the caps of this bottle (McQueen used studs quite a bit in his footwear) and the Parfum version of this fragrance in the black and gold bottle,(look up the Feather shoes with gold heels) do seem to represent some of those creations.
