Dirty Neroli

First and foremost, Dirty Neroli is an absolutely superb floral citrus wearing experience that I can not recommend highly enough. Its perfect for warm weather where the projection and longevity are at their foremost. It strikes the optimum balance between ‘sweet and sour’ where the orangey neroli floral citrus aspects present with a lovely soft sweetness, yet are balanced with a very subtle green like sourness that perfectly balances the scent. This exceptionally crafted balance puts it directly in the middle ground for comfortable wearing by either sex. I do however have issues with the description on the Alexandria website. It states; “Dirty Neroli is an original creation that blasts you into an Italian bathtub full of sweet Neroli and citrus. An almost edible and exotic citrusy gourmand mix that is very unique and attractive. Powerful raw Italian Neroli oils are experienced through a sweet sugary compound that makes this irresistible and completely yummy.” That description unfairly presents Dirty Neroli as a very sweet, gourmand styled scent that is heavy in sugar and edible which it absolutely is not! To draw a comparison, it is more in the vein of the likes of Neroli Portofino, but is subtly and mildly sweeter, more orangey, and also cleaner by doing away with some of the mild herbal aspects. In my opinion a closer representation of a clean Neroli that can be worn be either sex yet different enough to justify owning if you already own NP. It really is its own thing made with quality ingredients that in my experience performs better than NP in virtually all respects. I absolutely love and recommend it!

Dirty Neroli is not dirty. It is the exact opposite- a clean, optimistic neroli fragrance that equally favors the floral aspects of neroli as well the citric. If you are looking for a photo-realistic white blossom scent, this is a superb example of one. Alexandria's offering has none of that screechy, synthetic base that I was disappointed with in Ferrari's Bright Neroli and Bvlgari's Wood Neroli. This one lasts longer than either of them, as well. It lacks the vetiver/woody base that would firmly land it in traditional masculine fragrance territory- no, this is a pure neroli scent, with a hint of sweetness that doesn't distract from the naturalness of the composition. The fragrance brings vivid memories of times I stayed at high-end hotels on the beach- sand/sunscreen/waves/luxury soap/spas/ocean breezes. Unisex, high quality, evocative. It’s not a dupe but an original creation. This is the cleanest, freshest, brightest, most beautiful neroli I’ve ever had the good fortune to come across. I’m a huge fan of Tom Ford’s Neroli Portofino and have always regarded it as the pinnacle of neroli fragrances, but Dirty Neroli exceeds TF NP in every conceivable way, chiefly in terms of quality and performance. Astoundingly good, I can’t believe this level of quality is so affordable. I’d strongly urge Neroli fans to check this out, it’s glorious.

Dirty Neroli might jus be the best Neroli scent I’ve ever smelled. And it’s a beast in both projection and longevity. I’ve compared it to seven or eight of the other best Neroli frags out there and this is hands down better in all areas.

Nahh.. this just isn’t it! I love a good clean neroli, but this is too much like detergent (loose form). Maybe like a knockoff cheap attempt at Gain. Opens heavy & harsh on the petigrain. Dries down to a detergent/ makeup smell. No sweetness here, not smooth, not calming
